• I've been playing Mafia games for coming up four years (I think)
  I've played on a number of sites but most recently here and Mafia Universe
  Yes, you can see from my profile that I've been here at The Syndicate for just over two years (where I think I've become a legend for all the WRONG reasons
  I've played with almost everyone here unless they're very new and I feel quite excited to be back playing with them.

He's oozing with sincerity, there's emotion in his dialogue with Jack that I don't think would be there if he was bad, and his self-imposed post cap is something he could easily milk if he drew a scum role. Instead he seems to be struggling against it. Not to mention the alignment of his thoughts with mine in more than one place.

Your second reason is terrible. JJJ would struggle against that limit regardless.

It has given him trouble before. I think he would sooner adopt a "never claim an alignment in any game at all" strategy or just not play than compromise his values. He's town.

A) your patience and understanding as I try to catch up and immerse myself in this game and

I asked him about the significance of his statement because he said I wouldn't understand the significance. The basic premise of the game mafia is something I do understand because I've played mafia at least once before so I figured it was something beyond that.

I figured his statement would have to have had some sort of significance beyond the obvious face-value. Like an inside joke or a tradition or something, based on the other responses it seems like I was right.

well i just mean that like... the whole "spikes are gonna get sharpened" and "we're filling our pits with acid now" stuff, like that kinda stuff doesn't sound really promising.

it seems to support the "locations give their associated characters an edge or a boon" thing than the "locations may give us insight into the nature of their particular associated characters" thing. unless the flavor text is non-indicative, which is possible.

just something to keep in mind if we get to choose again, it might be good to try and figure out what world has the most civs

You've seemed focused on the mechanics of the game so far. I'm wondering what people have to say about that.

As for Made, I came out feeling good about him because he felt compelled to post a Day 0 rainbow unprompted. That's a bold move for scum to make. Since then, however, I've only had questions for him and none of them have been answered (I don't blame him for that, he's just been absent.) I can't offer a take on his read of me because I can't see where it comes from. He implied that he perceived me as feeling heat on Day 0, but I actually felt like I had achieved an inordinate amount of townie cred for that phase of the game. I don't know where any of his reads come from right now, and that's problematic. Maybe the boldness of the Day 0 rainbow was Made's principal motivation. He just played a solid scum game in Vocaroo but had his credibility destroyed when game mechanics all pointed to him. Maybe he drew another scum role in this game and wanted to come out swinging.

It felt like an authentic play on his part. So did the rainbow. The game has progresed since then, but he hasn't.
