Episode VI: In Aldeeran Places

It had been some time without the return of DDL or Bass, and the partygoers were getting concerned. Something about the events of the night felt off to each of them, and years of mafia experience gave the whole affair a sense of odd familiarity. No one could quite verbalize what it was that unnerved them, but it was as though the whole thing was some connected narrative, playing out as the night grew later. Since Alderaan was a relatively boring planet and one that the original trilogy never even explored, the group elected to instead focus their attention on at least locating their missing friends. Hopefully DDL and Bass would have a fresh perspective on the events of the night. The problem arose when everyone in the room realized that they were all too chickenshit to willingly search for two missing people in a dark, creepy building by themselves. And so they decided it would be best to draw straws. As fate would have it, bcornett drew the shortest of those straws, and was cast out to go look for their wayward companions.

"At least pause the movie until I get back." Bcornett pleaded as he was hurried out of the room by a relieved mob.

"Yeah sure thing bud." Epignosis lied.

===

Alderaan was the complete opposite of Tatooine. Bright, vibrant and full of life, it was no small wonder the peaceful planet was considered one of the most beatiful world's in the Galaxy. Alderaan also served as a perfect place for the Rebellion to regroup after the loss of Admiral Ackbar. Mon Mothma, secure now in her role as the Rebellion's leader, had gathered what remained of their Tatooine forces in a secret rebel hideaway. A wealthy family had built a secret section of their house that the Rebellion fortified and used as one of several safehouses. Many of the rebel soldiers were quiet and despondent, the shock of battle still fresh in their minds. Some however, called for retribution and justice for the Admiral's killers. Mon Mothma raised her hand to quiet the crowd, and placed a datapad on the desk in front of her.

"As many of you know, the battle on Tatooine was largely a trap in order to...in order to eliminate Admiral Ackbar." Her voice trembled at the words, yet her soldiers were impressed to see Mon Mothma quickly steel herself and continue.

"I, along with some of my top advisors, recently made a very serious call in retaliation of this attack. We've activated several sleeper agents on Tatooine in order to extract a high value target." This news silenced any other murmurs.

"I am pleased to report." Mon Mothma concluded, "That operation was success." As she finished speaking, a hidden door behind her slid open with a loud cranking noise as a half dozen rebel soldiers filed in, carrying between them what looked to be a large mobile containment cell. Whoever was in that cell must indeed have been a high value target, given the apparent lengths Mon Mothma had gone to in order to secure their capture.
===
"Figures Bcornett would leave just as this bootleg trash gets good." said Metalmarsh, although it appeared he was speaking largely to a room of comatose individuals.

"That's odd," the marmot remarked. "If you're gonna sign up to come to Movie Night, why would you fall asleep in the middle of the movie?"

Simon whipped his tie in the air like a lasso, having at some point liberated his prize from his father. "Let's go see where Bcornett is so we can get on with the movie." he said, smacking the tie square on Epignosis' face.

Epignosis, Simon, and Metalmarsh all rose from their seats and set off on an impromptu search party. This time, they did pause the movie. When they found Bcornett, he was standing over the bodies of both DDL and Bass, a sight that brought about that odd feeling once more. Seeing the group approach him, bcornett threw his hands up, a terrified look on his face.

"I just found them like this..." he said, his voice trailing off.

"That's what they all say," responded Simon as he tied bcornett up with his tie. "You're coming with us!"

===

Mon Mothma approached the containment unit carefully, pressing a button on one of the exterior panels. the metal plates covering the observation windows on the unit slid out of the way, revealing the identity of their prisoner.

"For the murder of Admiral Ackbar, and countless other crimes against the Republic, we find you guilty and sentence you to death..."

Bcornett has been lynched
He was Jabba the Hutt
It is now Night 3, The First Night on Alderaan
Night 3 will last 48 Hours

So if today was Alderaan, and it didn't explode, that means we're still safe tomorrow right? When does Moffy choose what planet to boom?

29 missing votes in the course of three Day phases. I am confident that I can say that is a Syndicate record. That is an average of 9.667 missing votes per phase. :disappoint:

Darth Helper and I spent a lot of time on this. We were under the impression that it was an exciting event. We never imagined it would be as neglected as a droid in Jawa's dumpster heap.

If you are a host, you know that when I sign up for one of your games, I play the shit out of it, regardless of the role I draw. I don't miss votes, and I don't miss PMs, even though I know I'm probably going to be night killed and won't win. I play my heart out, even though I have a wife, three kids, a full time job, musical, culinary, and literary inclinations, and a remarkable drinking habit. I still find time for your games because I know how much time you put into them. I don't neglect them. I relish them. And you know Darth Helper doesn't neglect your games either. He's a right sonofabitch. :srsnod:

Effective immediately:

Matt F is replacing Banana.
Bass_the_Clever is replacing Mishimeals.

PM Me with a popular film franchise of your choice, as well as how YOU would alter the films to make a more entertaining/ interesting story. The one I like the best will get a prize purse of, lets call it 5 credits.

Entries must be submitted before 7:30 PM EST on Friday
Actually, fuck it. If the winning entry puts in a sufficient level of effort, I'll give your ass 15 credits.
Hell yeah.

Fuck. Sorry, all. Had the times wrong.

I understand the hosts' frustrations, but I assure them that my missing votes has nothing to do with whether or not I respect them and the time they put into the game. I think that's unfair.

Regardless, I apologize and accept whatever the punishment is.

Yeah I don't wanna vote for myself if something bad will happen to me.

I find Enrique saying I was scum to be interesting especially since he said earlier he didn't think I was scum. This is slightly pingy.
Also good job on Bcornett two of his teammates knew who he was, and one didn't.
Welcome back Matt/Bass are you two scum this time around?

It feels weird analyzing an ISO from a player that I read as town until very recently, but I'll see what I can find.

I'm not one to harp over Day 0 votes, but I'm bumping this in case it comes up later in some way.

This post makes a whole lot more sense in the context of b's particular role reveal:
bcornett24 wrote:

2) DDL, I can't decide whether it's civ-ish or a baddie move to run through all the possible ways you'd catch a baddie based on the planet mechanic before we get a chance to actually use any of the methods. Consider me slightly pinged, there.
I'm rather confused why the focus of the conversation happens to be on the 2nd statement russ made here and not the first. I would encourage everybody to read the statement in red. To me this comes across as a scum hunting for third party players (or vise-versa).

I find this to be a very anti-town statement. What does everybody else think?
More like anti-Jabba statement, amirite dead scum? :D

One thing is for certain - Golden and bcornett are (were?) not teammates. And Golden seems to be placing an unusual amount of emphasis on Matt F without giving any original thoughts on him. In these series of posts at first it seems like he's using Matt as an excuse to avoid further confrontation with Golden...
bcornett24 wrote:
Golden wrote:

Thats kind of low. Often by this point I'm picking a fight with a baddie.

But, this is one of the most common and yet untrue accusations that gets levelled at me. If you looked back at the games I've played on this site, you'll see I've been lynched early several times as civ for not having 'picked a fight' yet - most notably in economics where I was lynched day one and then got to sub in as a baddie and clean everyone up. No early fights in Biblical where I was civ. But I did have early fights in Bullets over Broadway where I was Indy.

Since you came back, you have played 4 games early with me. In Dune zebra and I got into a fight, but it was not me that 'picked it'... I said I had a small ping and he overreacted. In Talking Heads I had some dialogue going on with Rico, but it could hardly be called a fight (any more than the posts I exchanged with Mac today). The first time I picked a fight was day 2, and it was with the specific goal of getting people to lynch me. And World Reborn, you didn't see me go straight out and pick fights in that one either (although because it is ongoing, I recognise we can't dialogue on what that means).

Long story short - you are raising a false indicator of my affiliation. (And I think your representation that I am 'more playful' is incorrect too... I always try to be playful. It makes things fun for me.)
I was wondering about that golden, what's going on normally by this point your are flinging shit around looking for scum. I just took a look at your content, even with 40+ posts there is almost no content. Are you busy being trained in the ways of the dark side? I find this concerning.

I would say that your three latest posts appear to be your only actual content. That being said, you appear to have a read on matt, I will take a look at him next as a lot of people seem to be going on about him right now.

Do you have any other reads or major concerns?
bcornett24 wrote:@ golden, i did see that, you don't have to go jjj super poster in order to scum hunt.

I read through all of your content as an iso and within the forum, which I've read completely almost 2x now. I do not feel that most of your posts, as I just stated, except for the last three, are of any real substance. This is why I made the previous statement.

I did find the last three + posts to be useful though and as I said I will be looking at matt next.

I am not going to sit here and make stuff up, all you have to do is go through your post history which I am linking for you or anybody else who finds this examination prudent and would like to examine your content: Golden.
THE VERY NEXT POST...
bcornett24 wrote:Taking a look at Matt F now.
bcornett24 wrote:Then I will be going back to ISO Matt F...
At this point the amount of emphasis is making me question whether b had some kind of information on Matt (aka Bobba Fett Matt) or possibly even a connection to him. The amount of times he simply mentions that he's going to look at him here before actually doing so is somewhat baffling in hindsight of both of their flips. This next post is over an hour after the previous one regarding Matt:
bcornett24 wrote:

bcornett24 wrote:You are way to defensive for what I said. I have never seen a golden who is scared he is going to be lynched because of too much content as a civ? Even if you have been in the recent past, even in more than one game, that is a bullshit excuse, and illogical. As you stated in your argument with zebra content is useful as it allows reads. I've have been lynched on day 1-2 in 2/6 of the games ive played thus far. That hasn't stopped me from posting. (Thanfully this day 0/1 fell on my weekend so I have had more time to participate.)
I'm not 'afraid to post content'.

But if I put my absolute full 'supatown golden' into every game from day one, two things will happen.

1) People will like me less, because it can be quite an abrasive style for some people and I make a concerted effort not to do it too often, only when I feel very confident and;
2) I'll burn out.

I'm heading into a short mafia break after this game to stay fresh, and I only signed up for this one very late because I couldn't resist the theme. But I have no intention of playing this game at 100% intensity. I'm still committed to providing quality content, just hopefully in a less intense way. I need this for me.

I appreciate you doing the iso and realising that I've been providing content all game. You didn't need to change your perspective, you could have pursued it, so that is a positive in my book.
I understand that.
I like to provide content too, which is what I was doing it just happened to be that you were the one who responded.
To be fair, in all of the games I've played, many people take you and JJJ very seriously which is why I like to keep a watch on you guys. If you were perhaps scum you could easily run away with the game.
Keeping things in perspective, it is only day one.

I don't know if I will have time to finish but I still plan on looking at Matt F and Mac before the time is up. I would like to looks at Zebra as well, but she has so much content there is no way I could manage it all in a couple of hours.
I'm not sure what exactly to make of this but I'm emphasizing it here in case anyone has an idea. In any case, it sticks out to me as a series of posts that most likely has some kind of ulterior motive.
When b finally does take a look at Matt, this is all he comes up with:
bcornett24 wrote:I took a quick look at Matt F's content almost every single post is related to this death star controversy.

Matt F
It's basically the reason that Matt used to attack my own suspicion of him. It's a single observation that on its own, means nothing. This is b's elaboration on it:
bcornett24 wrote:

Matt F
What do you make of it with regards to his alignment?
I've been staring at it for like 20 mins now and I honestly have no clue. You can make many arguments to justify or convict him based on his obsession with it. He himself said scum would not blatantly want to go to the death star and he was insistent upon it which makes him civ. The argument could be made that because of this he could vote this was as scum and then he would be thought to be civ, but this is wifom. Matt then stated that he thought it would be great to go there because it was fun (which he stated before, and on several other occasions). He has provided several reasons for his vote which could all or part be true, so it comes down to if you believe what Matt said or not. I will say, I agree with him completely that death star is bad-ass. I am just not sure about the persistence on it. It was suggested that he had info, but he stated he didn't. All he had to do was drop the subject at some point and time and this whole conversation could have been avoided. The fact that he kept going on about it is confusing in its own right.
It's a whole lot of nothing but at least b admits here that he has no clue. (or does he?) He ended up voting for Russ on Day 1 despite giving significantly less attention to him than he did with both Golden and Matt.
bcornett24 wrote:Russ was my original ping and I still don't like the post I have previously spoken of. I am not sure I like the Matt F vote either but, their cannot be a tie...
bcornett24 wrote:The irony, he used the wifom statement did exactly what he said a scum would never do because it would get them lynched. Granted he wasn't scum but, that is about the next best thing, if not better.

I still don't like how 5 of the votes on Matt were from people who have little to no participation.
This seems like a genuine response to me. If it is, does that mean that Matt's death benefited the Hutts in some way? After this, bcornett's post quantity takes a significant drop, and he knows it:
bcornett24 wrote:I'm all caught up with the reading but have no time to finish the analysis I wanted to do. This weekend has been much busier than excepted. The next week looks clear, even with thanksgiving coming up. I plan on doing several cases and hopefully some more tonight.

I will probably be back on in about 5 hours after the football game tonight and will then complete another iso.

The deadline will end before I get back. Since there needs to be a lynch I will be voting for enrique. I am surprised how little content was generated during day two I was unfortunately not around to help with posting. I have not completed an ISO on Bass and am not sure on the points that are being made against him therefore I will not be voting for him.

Looking at your own post history, you've offered not apparent stance on Enrique. This is the only comment you've made about him, stating that you don't like zebra's content on him.

Yet you opted out of voting Bass because you haven't completed your ISO? You are not sure of the points being made against him? Didn't you get caught up on your reading?

:eye:
When I read, I read from the place I left off on the forum to the last post on the last page. Even though I have read, there is no way I can form a proper stance on somebody unless I go back iso them and then go back once more and pull their posts into to context. If you are telling me you remember everything every player has said since the beginning of the game i would call bullshit in 99% of cases. I've tried keeping a notebook starting with talking heads, but it didn't work well due to the sheer quantity of content. If you have an organization method that would help, please share. Until then I go back and read and reread to form a proper stance on a player, not just a gut read.

What I did tonight was place a gut read on what I recalled out of the content of enrique compared to bass. I did not recall specific content on bass but there has been multiple scum reads against enrique. Hence I made my selection.
His only other mention of Enrique before this wasn't even his; it was when he agreed with MP about not being sold on the Enrique and Matt F wagons on Day 1:
bcornett24 wrote:
MovingPictures07 wrote:I don't know what to do right now. I'm not even particularly sold on Enrique or Matt F, so I'm feeling a bit nervous about the wagons that are forming.
I agree with this. The only thing that I know, 100% for sure is that there cannot be a no-lynch that only hurts the town.
I find it interesting that he gave a reason why he didn't vote for Bass, but didn't gave a reason why he did vote for Enrique. He only elaborated on why he voted for Enrique when questioned by MM, and even then his reasoning is weak. Why would "multiple scum reads against Enrique" justify a vote if not recalling specific content on Bass didn't? Again, I don't know what to make of this, but I feel it's worth pointing out. After taking a closer look at Bass' ISO, he claims not to understand the suspicion against him. I didn't like that:
a2thezebra wrote:
bcornett24 wrote:@mm

I have read over bass's posts and i honestly can't tell you why he was lynched let alone had a single vote. Here is the post history for Bass_the_Clever. As I had previously stated I could not recall why he was considered to be suspicious therefore I placed my vote on Enrique instead. I am not sure how this made me your number one suspect. In fact, that is as suspicious as bass's Lynch. 6 players voted for bass. Of those the only player only zebra seems to have provided a reason in her ISO which basically stated that her suspicions were based on lack of content/participation.
Okay I'm only speaking for my own Bass vote here but I did not just vote for Bass because of lack of content. If that was the case then why didn't I vote for any other low poster? Bass pinged me with more than half of his posts. I was wrong of course, but I do not think my vote was unjustified, just uninformed.
He also claims to have gotten this misinterpretation of my Bass suspicion being participation-related from reading my ISO analysis, which simply can't be true.
bcornett24 wrote:I have read over all of Enrique posts but i don't have the ability to properly post from mobile. I don't feel great about and I will say I don't feel good about him and I will share detailed thoughts about this later and provide an ISO.
This ended up not happening since bcornett got lynched. I don't feel too bad about it since I doubt it would've happened anyway. bcornett may have been busy but I saw him online when he failed to post, which was after Golden informed me that he had seen the same thing multiple times before, which caused him to vote for him.
bcornett24 wrote:
Bubbles wrote:voting zebra for voting bass, and because i don't think enrique is bad from his tone. and i don't want to miss another vote so that's why i'm posting now!
You have exactly three posts, come in drop a vote and leave...you deserve to be lynched. This is the type of behavior that contributes to town loses.

Based on your tone, you aren't going to be around again anytime soon. I don't like this.
Initially, this post didn't bother me because it seemed consistent with bcornett's previous disdain for low posters and a post he made earlier on listing all of them at the time (it included Bass). In hindsight, this is either the most over-the-top bussing ever or it makes it very unlikely that Bubbles is bcornett's teammate. I'm leaning towards the latter, and that's all I got for this ISO. I hope someone else ISOs bcorn as well because I'm disappointed with the lack of conclusions here. There is a lot of stuff worth emphasizing but not because I know what to make of it, so I would like some input from others as to what some of these observations could mean.

Wow that was an impressive lynching guys, well done. I actually thought bcornett was civ. He was coming across very genuine to me. Obviously Golden caught wind of what amounted to almost a scum slip so well done on that! That combined with the unusual push on Zebra, has me intrigued.

I don't think scum would just try to railroad Zebra like that. I think that push is not anti-town influenced. The fact that it came about rather quietly (or for lack of a better phrase, via bullshit tbh) makes me feel that the voters know something the rest of us don't about the Zebs. The fact that they managed to get their votes on her makes me feel like they might be a team. Simon notwithstanding whose vote looks very much like an attempt to save bcornett. Inversely I think some of the bcornett votes could quite possibly have been attempts to save Zebra, particularly the Metalmarsh 'un. All told we got scum so I ain't bout to complain. Perhaps the Jawas have some way of identifying alignment and have seen that Zebs has the bads. Not totally in love with that analysis, but I thought I'd share my brainings nonetheless. Zebs in the thread has been pretty dang civilian to me so I ain't about to call for a lynch on that when it is an anlysis of shit going on around her, so that wouldn't be fair. She's hunting like a badbetch and just contributed to us killing the fat one so even if she's a badder, she's a useful badder for now, and there are others I think are badders that aren't so useful.

I think this sort of flip at this point of the game can really turn the game crucially in our favour, so analysing bcornett's interactions or lack thereof is probs going to give us some juicy material. That being said, he was one of the few players who made me feel the warm and fuzzies of a positive kind so I think he might have had his best bullshitter hat on here. I shall take a look at any rate and see if I can find anything s-s-strange... aside from Simon's quite blatant attempt to save him. :haha:

I understand the hosts' frustrations, but I assure them that my missing votes has nothing to do with whether or not I respect them and the time they put into the game. I think that's unfair.

Regardless, I apologize and accept whatever the punishment is.
While Epi did mention the number of missed votes, I think most (if not all) of us can agree that you're not one of the people who has been neglecting the game. Look at what happened to Mr. Jabba the Hutt - clearly posts are worth more than votes at the end of the day, and I think you've delivered. :srsnod:
Imagine if bcornett opted not to vote though. :bighug:

This is something I didn't even think of because I'm dumb. We're probably going to find much more conclusive material from other player's actions potentially regarding bcornett than anything bcornett said himself, but I'm glad I ISO'd him all the same.
