With MP in there, it does look more like story telling than a tie.

Would we really have "caught" a baddie if we lynched him on Day 0 because we expected him to be inactive and he hasn't posted yet? I think we'd be giving ourselves too much credit.Golden wrote:An answer to what? Your question doesn't make sense to me.

Re: Guess Who? Mafia
Oh joy.
---
Of TH's four voters, Spacedaisy sealed the deal, pushing TH at 4, with DDL at 3 and MP at 2. Now, she did make an eloquent recap of the Day and reasoning of her vote choice, despite not being very active throughout the Day, but that's actually what gives me pause a bit. Remember who she was the last time she made eloquent, if sporadic posts, that got her little to no suspicion/heat and made her sail to victory? Kami!
In complete contrast, Black Rock's four posts throughout Day 1 are half fluff, half wagony (agreeing with Llama and Splints that TH's situation isn't an issue for a lynch), so her posts look worse, but it makes me recall she's done this in the past and got mislynched for it...Mary! She could be intentionally playing the same card again, of course, but idk what to think.
G-Man's Day 1 posts should mostly be in orange and green (not literally, but you get my point) and he himself defended his way of being more jokey at the beginning of the game. His suss on TH missing actually dates before Llama actively got the votes rolling. And in light of what I'm about to point about Llama, it is interesting to note that G-Man went along with everything that Llama proposed. Kinda fishy.
And now let us turn to the Switcheroo Detection Game. I know Llama will appreciate this, even though it's about him, because he does it regularly on others.
Llama's first suspect choice
Backlash at players disapproving of his hunt idea? Check.
Breaking apart players' disapproving arguments (the newbie stances)? Check. And double check.
Heightened suspicion when the suspected player starts showing signs of rectifying or fine tuning his behaviour (like suddenly showing up)? Check.
Pretty consistent hunting from him, right? Given that his main reason for wanting to lynch MP was the avatar issue, you'd think a player like Llama would stick with this hunt and vote accordingly, especially since MP still failed to provide the avatar, right? [following quotes snipped a bit to point out only the relevant part]
One could say that for him MP and TH were in the same boat for being inactive, but his reads on them are actually not of the same caliber.
His reasons for voting MP? Solid: Lack of avatar, affecting the mechanics of the civilian night game.
His reasons for voting TH? Mellow (Mercy kill, "It would be the kind thing to do.") and/or jokey ("to piss everyone off (...) when I vote for non-participants or people who <<have not had the chance to defend themselves.>>").
Llama is bad and will probably get my vote.
My trust-o-meter on the other three is pretty low, as well, right now.
Ricochet wrote:Then again, he developed an apathy in Omerta as well, players flocked to lynch him (uhm eventually), flipped civ.
RIP TH. I know inactives aren't helping the civ cause, but I think it'd still be nice to primarly hunt with the mentality of catching mafia, not of mercy killing or cleaning up civ who aren't playing.Ricochet wrote:Biblical, after going AWOL? Civ.

I think SD's TH vote looks suspicious. She said she didn't understand the case on him at all, but the points on him wasn't at all why I was voting him even. Idk I think they are teammates and she jumped on the TH bandwagon to save DDL

Sorry I should have reread that. SD said she didn't understand the case on DDL not TH
That's where my suspicion comes from. I think she misrepresented the points on him. My reason for suspecting him had nothing to do with what she said

Re: Guess Who? Mafia
I think your llama points are pretty good. If he is bad I could actually see a MP/llama distancing thing. They both mentioned suspicion of each other early but chose to pursue their other suspects instead with little to no reasoning. (MP was calling either me or llama bad. Now is focusing on me. When I am revealed as a civvie he can easily said "damn was wrong said llama OR splints". Llama as you said going with the weaker TH vote as you said)

Re: Guess Who? Mafia
Pretty much.
MP is bad scenario: distancing is the only way, because teamies acting casual about MP's missing avatar is the worse path to take. And it gives plenty of space for Llama to tailor his hunt on MP in a professional way. Town cred gain if MP is lynched. His reason for suddenly pushing TH instead could be a way of not going all the way through with sacrificing MP.
MP is civ scenario: easy smoke screens to construct, again because MP's missing avatar and his/TH's inactivity being exploitable issues. Civs lost Omerta because they lynched one oddball player after another, so again, very exploitable. If both TH and MP get lynched, boom, 2 civs down + 2 more civs night killed, 8 to 4 by Day 3.

Re: Guess Who? Mafia
Meh, that's why I don't like to lynch inactives.
I'm still suspicious of MP. I don't like how he keeps tunneling on llama and splints, despite not having voted either yesterday (sure there was the RL reason, but like I always say, RL problems can be exploited). He quickly decides there is scum between them but doesn't elaborate much, and doesn't risk getting his hands dirty lynching them.
I was leaning slighly town on llama yesterday, now I'm not sure. His posts feel legit to me, but I have to admit the whole pushing of the TH wagon was fishy as fuck. There is certainly mafia among those four, and it might as well be llama.
But for now I'm leaning on voting MP again, unless someone more scummy shows up.

Great points by Ricochet. I like the way he is playing. The reason I ultimate didn't vote for MP (who I still think is a girl) is that his posts read extremely cig to me once he actually showed up. Too bad about TH though.

I'm sorry, but no. You made it very clear that his lack of avatar is the main issue, including to him. Nowhere in your posts, since he showed up, do I find you stating that you feel better about him, in order to switch to TH.thellama73 wrote:Great points by Ricochet. I like the way he is playing. It only adds, to me, that you intend to blur the lines between MP and TH as inactive players, between which it was easy or justifiable for you to switch. Nevertheless, you still called MP the "best option" for his avatar issue and that alone, then never stood by it.
thellama73 wrote:She's not going to get modkilled, because Eloh doesn't do those things. She might get replaced, but that doesn't make her more likely to be good. It's only a waste of a lynch if she is not mafia. Right now, we can't find out whether she is mafia or not, because she has robbed us of our only way of doing so by not having an avatar. Seems like the best option to me.

Well then that proves my point that I don't understand the case on him, because that was the impression I got from the thread yesterday.fingersplints wrote:Sorry I should have reread that. SD said she didn't understand the case on DDL not TH
That's where my suspicion comes from. I think she misrepresented the points on him. My reason for suspecting him had nothing to do with what she said

You don't find it because I didn't say it. I thought it though, And that's all that matters to me.Ricochet wrote:I'm sorry, but no. You made it very clear that his lack of avatar is the main issue, including to him. Nowhere in your posts, since he showed up, do I find you stating that you feel better about him, in order to switch to TH.thellama73 wrote:Great points by Ricochet. I like the way he is playing. The reason I ultimate didn't vote for MP (who I still think is a girl) is that his posts read extremely cig to me once he actually showed up. Too bad about TH though.

I don't want to live in that universe.

I agree it seems likely there are mafia in the TH vote. I've been getting good vibes from G-Man so far. I was agreeing with llama in his points against MP and ended up voting that way because of that. But I can see the points made, especially about his sudden switch of direction. If he hadn't done it, MP would have died. I wonder if those two could be a pair. BR and Daisy I haven't got much of a read on.

Re: Guess Who? Mafia
I'm also getting more and more suspicious of MM's approach to me. He demanded I answer what I think is a very strange question, and in doing so continued to avoid answering mine - which is why did he misrepresent my post. When I quote people, I don't cut it off half sentence... I quote the whole sentence or paragraph for context and underline the relevant bit. That felt really snaky to me.
Also, elo, is talking about the name we might PM in allowed or not?

Ricochet has been put down by the mafia. It is now Day 2.
Due to the fact that is it July 4th weekend, we will have a 48 hour day.

Re: Guess Who? Mafia
Well thats a bummer bc I wanted to play with Ricochet I was feeling good vibes from him
I wonder if he made someone nervous with his mad mafia skillz
He could have made any of the TH voters quite nervous llama, Gman, Daisy and BR. I got the feeling he was more suspicious of llama and Gman than the girls. But I think we should consider all of them.
I still have not forgotten about Golden and his play Day 1.

Re: Guess Who? Mafia
RIP Rico. I wanted to play with you too, sorry to see you go. You could consider subbing in to Dom's game, although I know that is tough at this stage.
@Roxy - All I can say, is that I hope you go back and read what you said and what I said again. I don't think you have been fair with your interpretation of your own words. If you come back civ in this game, I'll take it under advisement that you are entitled to change your newbie policy when you see fit. But I've seen your newbie policy a lot of times - like you say, I know it like the back of my hand, I've played with you enough - and you changed it this time. It was not the same newbie policy as usual.
I know you have a busy weekend with SVS, and make the most of it, I don't expect you to do this right away or anything. But please do it when you have time.

Re: Guess Who? Mafia
Bummer. That was some really solid play you were making here, Ricochet. Hope I play again with you some time.
I'm reading through day 1 posts and BR's ones caught my attention. It feels to me her vote on TH was pretty oportunistic. She only agreed with what splints said then jumped on the wagon later in the phase, after waiting for two players to do it first. And did not say much more. I'm leaning mafia on her.

I agree with this - MM's behavior is weird in this regard, even for a newt.Golden wrote:I'm also getting more and more suspicious of MM's approach to me.
