Guys, while we wait for Alex to come back from karaoke and riding the mechanical bull and doing the cinnamon challenge, can we please discuss strategy for searching for Bandage Girl?

Re: [DAY 2] Super Meat Boy Mafia
Alex mentioned this to me yesterday, and I looked into it, and all of mine have gone through, I have had people send me PMs and i have gotten them. I checked into the phpbb website help threads, and could find no problems like this. Are the PMs remaining in your Outboxes, do they show as sent, or do they just disappear?Elohcin wrote:I don't think any of mine have gotten through.Mongoose wrote:Yes, it was only the 3rd PM that I sent to Alex yday that finally reached him.Elohcin wrote:Anyone else think they may be having problems with PMs to the host?
Rather than answering in the thread, if anyone is having this issue, please let me know with details (did it disappear, go to Sent, or stay in Inbox?, etc) in a PM.
And if anyone needs help resetting their daylight savings:
Go into the user Control Panel
Click on "Board Preferences" (third tab from the left)
About 3/4 down the page is "Summer Time/DST is in effect:"
click "NO"
Hit "submit"
it should then be OK.
Skip softly, my moonbeams, for I have heard tell
That the stairs up to heaven lead straight down to hell

Day 2: Biohazard

No one has died.
The players have arrived at Chapter 2: The Hospital.
It is now Night 2. You have 24 hours to find Dr. Fetus!
To find Dr. Fetus, send me a PM with a number selection of one of the levels from the map above. If you wish, you may instead choose a warp zone level; if you do so, specify which one you want to visit. This procedure will be the same for all of the Heroes (except Bandage Girl) during every night period. If you have questions, PM me!

Does anyone want to speculate on why no one is dying? Not that I am complainging, but I feel a bit like I am waiting for the other shoe to drop.
I am going to choose 3, if anyone wants to choose numbers based upon that.

I just want to raise the point -- why does everyone think sharing levels is a good idea? If Dr. Fetus knows what level he's in, he would be sure to post that he's looking there, encouraging everyone else to look elsewhere.

Re: [NIGHT 2] Super Meat Boy Mafia
I'm caught up but boy am I still confused. This is unlike any game I've ever played so bear with me. This site is also running quite slow for me, not sure if thats due to some of the larger sigs or not but yeah, taking me a while to scroll through the pages.
Agreeing with Boomslang that it might be worth thinking about whether we should post which level we're searching in - as he/she said Dr Fetus can just post he's searching in his own - but if he is found, is the player that found him told? And if they are can they share that in the thread? Then if Dr Fetus is posting he's searching in his own level, and someone else checks it, and finds him, we would know who he is. Does that mke sense?
So while we discuss it, I won't say which level Im searching in tonight.

These are some good points I am considering. The other thing is Dr.fetus learns our patterns for which numbers we often pick. I think if we keep announcing that having two people search a level is good as well.Rose wrote:I'm caught up but boy am I still confused. This is unlike any game I've ever played so bear with me. So I decided to read some role(s) k. Mr Sock Host Sir, what are the winning conditions for the indy Poop Boy? Is it a LMS type thingy? Because if it is... I reckon he ought to have the highest number of lives, which means he can roam freely in the thread for a while without having to worry too much about losing a handful of lives. Also, does the Doc know this not very appetising brownie's identity, because if he doesn't, there is a small chance that when at Chapter 3, the Doc chooses the player who is in fact Brownie to race himself. So how does this work q.m.
Also, haaaai Rose and Mata!

Brownie is independent, but not LMS. He can win with either the heroes/civvies or the villains/baddies, but not both. This decision will be made at a particular time.Lizzy wrote:So I decided to read some role(s) k. Mr Sock Host Sir, what are the winning conditions for the indy Poop Boy? Is it a LMS type thingy? Dr. Fetus does not know Brownie's identity. If he chooses Brownie to race himself, well, nothing happens.
Re: [NIGHT 2] Super Meat Boy Mafia
Well, I have read up, and double checked some things. Please bear with me, I find myself playing from a traditional mafia game mindset, but perhaps should be playing from a gamers mindset. Which I don't know how to do as I am not a gamer
What boomslang said about discussing our level choices was the same type reaction I had while reading through. On the first night of searching for dr. Fetus, I think it was night zero, why was everyone letting dr fetus know where they were going? Even more noticeable, was the idea of spreading out, and covering a different level per person. That seems like an easy way for him to hide.
Nev first asked whether choices could be discussed, then INH suggested coordinating between players. BWT suggested everyone pick a diff level, then mongoose seconded it and pointed out that people might not survive in the level they chose, so it would be best not to double up? (If I understood her correctly?)
Then several players did double up (providing they actually voted like they said). Nev-1, dev-1 or 2, mongoose-3, DP-3, jigsaw-2,6,11 and vomps-11 or 12.
Could a teammate of dr fetus have wanted to pick a level with dr fetus so that it would discourage civs from also choosing that level?
Or am I totally not understanding a bunch of stuff and looking at the wrong things? Thus embarrassing myself further

Re: [NIGHT 2] Super Meat Boy Mafia
Also, please keep in mind that I don't think anything is as simple as my above post makes it sound like. Rolling off a few names was just because they had part in the decision to publicly plan the night 0 search; not because I think a baddie team would take a chance on being discovered. But it makes me wonder that maybe someone in that group could have capitalized on the situation.
Again, I still wonder if I'm way out in left field because of not knowing much about meat boy.

Welcome Mata.
I am choosing to keep my level pick to myself as well. It feels like we are all stumbling around in the dark with no lynches yet. It is simpler to find a baddie once we have a confirmed lynch.

Re: [NIGHT 2] Super Meat Boy Mafia
Devin, I either sounded my usual unclear self, or you misunderstood me. I don't advocate doubling up or not doubling up; I just thought it was kind of odd that not doubling up was encouraged, but a few did it anyway. Or said they did, it could have just been a cover up to trick dr f. I don't really know. But it struck me because it also was a good way for dr f to avoid detection. If dr f chose a square, and one of his teammates chose the same square, it would be unlikely that a third player would also choose that square.Devin the Omniscient wrote:Welcome Mata!! Anyway, it's just one of those little things that struck me as I was reading through. And it could mean nothing. I'll probably have to read through again for the game to sink in a little better.

My fear at first with publicly stating the level-check was that I wasn't sure whether the villains kill by targeting players or levels. After rereading, I'm guessing it's by player as usual.

If a player is resurrected, are the hit points refilled (all the missing lives are returned to the player), or does the player only have One Life to Live?

The player is given the exact number of lives he/she had at the time immediately before his/her death.Mongoose wrote:Interesting!
