Ganon’s Conquest

A game for 19 players.

Death Mountain


The evil lord of Death Mountain will use the rupees his entire army has collected to upgrade his eight underlings. He has four Overworld minions and four Underworld minions. Rupees earned by him and his guardians can be spent however he wishes, but Overworld rupees must be spent on Overworld roles, and Underworld rupees must be spent on Underworld roles.

Ganon perishes only if his guardians are eliminated. If that happens, his minions can no longer be upgraded and will thenceforth remain whatever form they had taken at Ganon’s demise.

The Guardians (6):


Targets three people, adding 1 vote to them for the next Day.


Can only be Night killed by a bomb.


Must receive 4 cumulative votes before it can be Night killed.


If lynched, Gleeok becomes three times the danger he was.


Can only be Night killed after the recorder has been played.


Can only be Night killed by an arrow.


The Underlings (8):

Overworld (4)

Overworld

Overworld phases (“Days”) give everyone an opportunity to lynch someone and use Day actions. Ganon will spend his rupees at this time, and the shoppes will be open for Hyrule to spend theirs.

Underworld

Underworld phases (“Nights”) give everyone an opportunity to use Night actions. Each Underworld phase will feature an event, puzzle, riddle, or challenge. One may earn rupees.

Day 0: An Old Woman Visits

Many years ago, the Prince of Darkness, Ganon was defeated. Link subdued him, rescued the Princess Zelda, and took refuge with the Old Man who had first equipped him on his task.

Defeated, but not done.

In the depths of Death Mountain underneath Spectacle Rock, Ganon used his remaining power to recreate his guardians: Aquamentus, Dodongo, Manhandla, Gleeok, Digdogger, and Gohma. Using an ancient talisman, he bound himself to these protectors, rendering himself invincible as long as they lived. With his remaining power, he brought forth four Tektites and four Stalfos.

“You are now without power, Ganon,” said an old crone, her straggly grey hair drooping from the cowl that concealed her withered face.

“Who are you?”

“Who I am is unimportant. I can strengthen your meager army, but only for a price. My spies tell me that your enemies know you are coming, and they are fortifying themselves each day. You will not prevail without my help.”

“Very well. What do you want?”

“Rupees,” the old woman said. “That’s all I want.”

“Then rupees you shall have,” Ganon said. “Go!” he snarled at his forces.

“There’s one more thing,” the old woman said.

“What is it?” snorted Ganon.

“The picnic.”

“What picnic?”

The old woman raised her head, but there was no face- only a bald, blank piece of skin, flanked by grey hair and a red cowl. It began to glow, and a familiar land became visible.

“A picnic,” said the woman’s mouthless face. “Nineteen persons. I count fifteen of your number, and your enemies are three. I can fuse your essence with these merrymakers, so that no one is the wiser. All of you will be confounded.”

“What is to stop me from destroying my own army?”

“Nothing!” the woman hissed from behind the view of the picnic. “And your foes have an amulet that dispels my magic amongst themselves, so they will be able to see their true forms. But remember- your life is bound to that of your guardians. If they are destroyed, then so are you, and your quest for the Triforces is ruined.”

“Fine!” Ganon shouted. “Do it! Let it be done! We will be victorious!”

“There’s one problem,” said the witch. “You have fifteen in your company. Your enemies are three in number. That’s eighteen. There are nineteen at this festive gathering.”

Ganon was not deterred. “Zola,” he snarled. “Wherever there is happiness near the water, he will be there to ruin it.”

The witch nodded, and there was a sudden mist that made it impossible to breathe.

The picnic was by the river, and MetalMarsh89 and nijuukyugou were splashing each other with the water, while the maternal Elohcin warned them of sea monsters.

“Nonsense,” said S~V~S, who stroked her dog.

“Cats are better,” said Boogs. “Just ask Corsair.”

Meanwhile, MovingPictures07 and thellama73 debated finance and monetary politics, and sabie12 and fingersplints reminisced over old boyfriends. “I love keys,” fingersplints said, to sabie12’s confusion.

Bass_the_Clever, Mister Rearranger, and Russtifinko were getting to know zeek, who had come from the other end of Hyrule on LizKeen’s invitation.

Snow Dog drank and grumbled.

Dom spoke of how much he was filled with glee. And Hedgeowl Made A Person.

Out of clay.

A red mist overcame their merriment, and an old woman’s voice cackled. “Today, most of you will be servants of Ganon, the Dark Prince!”

A face appeared in the sky and was being sucked earthward. It was Zelda’s countenance. “Impa! You were my nurse mother! You can’t do this!”

“I must!” the witch cried. “You, Link, and your elderly ally are now imprisoned in these people, and Ganon will destroy you, take over Hyrule, and I shall be his queen!”

When the storm was over, the picnic attendees looked at each other with confusion and uncertainty.

Impa cackled. “And now that you all are trapped, I will begin searching for the Triforces so that I can be goddess over Hyrule. Tell me, just out of curiosity: Which Triforce represents you best?” She said more, but the witch's voice hummed in the air.

Impa laughed. "And what was the last sentence I said? Whisper it to the Host of Heaven for a reward!"

It is now Day 0. You have 23 hours to choose.

I think I'm not wise because I don't have the experience to be wise.
I do not think I am very powerful in any sense of the word.
I think I am courageous because I have principles and stand by them. I have a lot of belief in those principles. I also have faced some not so easy to face things in my life and like to think I haven't turned out too crappy for it!

While maybe not in a tradtional physical strength sense of the word, I personally value power/advantages over others. I feel a combination of wit, as well as physical speed/swiftness and endurance give me that.
