That seems like a drastic misunderstanding of the game of battleship to me. Like, the reason we waited to get results on our guesses was to make sure we were hitting.

I'd still quite like to see it

You'll have to ask them why they did it that way. I don't remember them explaining their rationale in the thread.

Golden and Quin are talking. I'm not sure Golden is being completely honest.

But Quin thinks he is safe, and just admitted to Golden that he will play the idol at final 5 (since it is the last time he can) and play the fake idol tonight.

Twould be a good time to blindside Quin.

However, LoRab and Opt can't talk to Golden with that info, so it might just be a straightforward vote of either Sorsha or Elo

It will be interesting to see. I'm not sure Golden can risk blindsiding another person who will be on the jury. SVS seems to think it will be Sorsha tonight but who knows.

Don't know if they planned that far ahead in BTSC yesterday. Without proper BTSC channels tonight, I don't think it will work. Blindsides need to involve coordination.

See, SVS and Quin and LoRab had smilie code to work out who to vote for, but I'm not so sure Golden is a part of that or can get it together with all of them.
If he does, then bravo.

Y'all wanted a big move? Well, one player is making that #BIGMOVE in BTSC.

We'll see how all this works out tonight, but maybe it won't be as straightforward as first thought...

It's only marginally less quiet in BTSC, if that makes you feel better.

Opt! No you fool!

Turning on Golden was a huge blunder with Quin still in the game. Wow. And *AGAINST* Eloh and LoRab, the two players who have been campaigning on loyalty the most this whole game? What a shake up.

Sorsha/Quin/Opt versus Lorab/Eloh? Shit fire and save matches. Sorsha might float to final three all because Opt turned her coat? Man.

Opt started the ball rolling with Quin. He was pretty paranoid to begin with, and was all for doing what Golden said, but put all his eggs in the basket. She let Sorsha know as well, and she was cool about it.

Quin didn't inform Golden or Elo about it at all. And LoRab was completely in the dark.

Guess we'll see how that affects the voting blocks here. Opt has a big target on her back, and so if she doesn't win immunity here, :noble:

I'm actually surprised Golden is so bitter about being played. I figured he of all people would have more of an open mind.

Should be an interesting outcome. I have no idea who the jury is probably going to vote for now.

He doesn't sound that bitter to me but maybe I'm reading him wrong - more surprised that Opt would do that. Scotty, are you going to let them have bts until the end? I was thinking you said you were going to limit them to 1 each to force more behavior into the thread where the jury could see it.

Also, I think Quin has a good chance now.

That's hyperbolic. Here's how I actually see it. I'll rank people based on who I think has the best chances of winning:

1. Opt
2. Lorab
3. Quin
4. Eloh
5. Sorsha

Opt has won competitions, stayed loyal to her people, made moves when she needed to, and kept her head down otherwise. If she makes it to the end, they have to give it to her.
LoRab has been working the social aspects of the game nonstop, keeping on her toes. Having such a good ear to the ground and building up relationships could take her to the end.
Quin made big plays but his big plays mean that anyone who takes him to the end deserves to lose because that would be a monstrous mistake. If he loses immunity tonight, he should go.
Eloh and Sorsha both haven't really been in on any of the gameplay or anything as far as I can see. they're at the bottom of my list because I figure the only way they're getting to the final 3 is if someone carries them across the finish line.

I think S~V~S has already said in the Jury thread that Opt would not be among those whom she'd give her vote. I think Golden might have issues too? That's two, already.

Someone needs to constantly remind me how the alliances are shaped, at least on paper.

I agree Quin might be in doo-doo, following his idol waste.
I genuinely think any immunity drop from Opt will trigger "mwahaha off you go" votes from the rest. Call it pessimism.
If Quin goes tomorrow, I think any or both Eloh and Sorsha could wrestle to sink at least LoRab and give themselves a 1 in 2 chance for a final two. Then again, both her and Sorsha have been vote targets, when idols were used, so they might not last after all.

Yeah and it seems like Epi made some comment about her winning all that immunity. She might get the vote though because she is new.

I'm just seeing it from who I would give the vote to. Opt busted ass to stay in the game and that should be rewarded.

Also important to note is that Jury talk is just that, talk. Up until the votes are cast it's anybodies game.

Talk is talk, but grudge is also grudge.

Then again, since this isn't really about winning a million bucks or real life retribution or anything, by Jury time, everyone will revert to simply considering who deserves this game win better.

I'm trying this auto-BTSC today, and already didn't think it through. This will change again tomorrow because I think almost every person will have BTSC.
For final 4, i will definitely have a limit of 1 match per person. :shrug2:
I'd prefer the game players to be able to have a little strategy over Jury seeing everything. But I also don't want a dead thread. Can't win em all

Oh I see, I was thinking the jury was supposed to see the strategy so I was just thinking about it wrong. And yeah, everyone will have bts unless they forget to send in their names it seems.

Yeah Rico I tend to agree, grudge is grudge. We'll see though.

I don't think she's used it and I don't think I know what it is.

the ability to take down someone's hunger and thirst by 2? I could be wrong about this but it sounds vaguely familiar.

Sorsha already used it last phase. She used it on Elo and it brought her thirst and energy down 4.
If she had used it on, say, Golden, it might have killed him. But she chose Elo, who was marginally fine with thirst :shrug2:

We live now, more than ever before, in an age of Dead-or-Alive wins. Most probably don't want to openly embrace a format in which they'd only have a 1 in 19 (or however much) chance of winning.

Would you describe this as one of the best for its Mafia format per se or is it just the hype that were getting a close as possible Survivor experience?

It was the most fun. I didn't have to worry about hunting baddies or being hunted. I got to goof around and just have fun. I think LMS in general is a better format because it's less structured and there is more flexibility.

I don't even particularly like Survivor :P

I also might be in the minority here in that I don't conflate "winning" with "having fun"
