hey kids

I have 17 energy and I'm fit as a fiddle, so I can pick up somebody else's slack if need be. I don't have an advantage for the challenge though.

@LC - nope.

I am participating twice, orders TBA

Long Con wrote:I'm at 18 Energy, 10 Thirst, and 8 Hunger. I think Epi should take a nap today... or at least stoke the fire if he doesn't want to do that.

I'd really like to know the effects of each choice. Does a nap replenish energy? Does it take away energy to stoke the fire? DFaraday, did your walk in the wading pool affect your stats at all? Quin, how about the felled palm tree - stats effect? Did you get anything out of it?

We need information!
I take what I said back. My energy seems high for someone who used up 6 energy in a challenge on Day 1, and I haven't done/received anything else. At the very least walking might use 0 energy.

I will sign up for as many slots in this challenge as I can. My Strength bonus means I roll d10 and d8, instead of d8 and d6.
I'm sorry, there was a host error: no player will be sitting- every player will be participating once, since you only have 7 players. I foolishly copy/pasted Mamana's clarifications in here. It should be fixed now.

Either way, I have Long Con signed up first.
oh, so I can't play for Epi who is sick?

I probably shouldn't be the one to play the second round because I don't have a bonus.

I thought it made sense.

I don't think anyone is participating twice, Quin. And unless you have a Strength bonus like me... well, I would be the one participating twice, if such a thing were possible. :nicenod:

Why did people get sick? Was it random? Did they do something wrong?

I already have ideas for a sickness-based baddie in A World Asunder. Thanks Scotty!

Ok it looks like we are down to the last 2, Epi who was holding off until closer to the end so he had a chance at not having to compete, and Sawyer, who has not been in at all today, it would appear?

1. Long Con vs Opt_Outside
2. SVS vs INH
3. Sorsha vs speedchuck
4. DF vs LoRab
5. Quin vs DH
6. ______ vs ______

Nope! I will randomly slot him in if the order if there are still 2 slots left, and, if it gets to him, he will lose 3 energy and automatically lose. Unless the opponent also neglects to send in actions.

But that's not going to happen because I currently have all the actions waiting from the other team.

We seem to be having plenty of water, so I'm going to fish today, to get some extra food in the mix.

I'm assuming one person is enough to stoke the fire... is this sensible? Should we put two people on, to avoid waking up tomorrow morning to a "Sorry, your fire-stoker fell asleep in the night, and your fire went out!"

Maybe I should switch to fire.

I wonder if our sickies can infect their opponent? I mean, looking at the muddy picture of the fights... if your opponent is contagious, you would 100% definitely get sick.

"C-C-C-COMBOOOOOOO"
Another day, another challenge, another virus.

Another virus? What the shit?

It seems that the rice wasn't fully cooked or something, because some, if not most of the tribe was reeling from a bad case of food poisoning. What horrid luck!

Around camp, the tribe still persevered.
DF poked the fire that was started last night, thanks to their flint.
Quin retrieved more water for the tribe, fulfilling another day of quenched thirst.
SVS, Sorsha and Long Con went out on a fishing expedition, bringing back 2, 3, and 3 fish, respectively. Thank goodness that fire was lit today!
While camp went about their chores, Epi and notsawyer went exploring around the island.

At the challenge, the players were designated to set up in bouts of mud wrestling with pads. Players strategized the best way to go about it, and decided to send their strongest first.
OptOut for Mamana and LC for Atamai. An imposing matchup. Both went at it fast and loose early, and seemed pretty evenly matched. LC never slowed down, however, and kept pummeling OptOut until she was inches from the edge. OptOut pushed right back with a low jab to trip up Long Con. As Long Con fell, he whipped one last high attack and barely knicked OptOut, making her lose her balance. Both combatants fell into the mud, but OptOut fell first. That was a close match. Atamai was up 1.
Next came SVS and INH. INH immediately swung high and caught SVS in the upper lip. It was all downhill for her, as she was pushed out rather suddenly. Score for Mamana! It was tied 1-1
speedchuck and Sorsha was a more measured fight. No one seemed to really have the edge, and no one was really landing any hits. After an exhausting bout, speedchuck swung low for a last attack, and Sorsha deftly stepped out of the way for speedchuck to fall into the mud.Atamai was up 2-1.
But that didn't stop LoRab from unleashing her fury on a stupefied DF. DF fell into the mud in dirty defeat. Tied again, 2-2.
DH put on his crown and stepped up to Quin. The arena was quite covered in mud at this point. DH covered himself in excess mud to appear more imposing. He was not more imposing. Without warning, Quin lunged at DH and pushed him back-first into the mud. Atamai is up 3-2! One more would win it!
Wilgy knew it was up to him to salvage the fight, up against notsawyer. But notsawyer had other plans. He took a few hits from wilgy right off, but Wilgy became worn down and while he gave it his all, it wasn't enough. He slipped and fell face first in the mud.
Atamai scores their 4th point and WINS THE CHALLENGE!

Atamai wins immunity, and will be safe from the vote tonight. They also won the reward offered yesterday in the form of fishing gear. Use it well, fellas!

It is now Night 3. Night will end at Midnight, EST.

Another day, another challenge, another virus.

Another virus? What the shit?

It seems that the rice wasn't fully cooked or something, because some, if not most of the tribe was reeling from a bad case of food poisoning. What horrid luck!
First of all, what rice? Did I miss when we got rice? And food poisoning isn't contagious, so that's a relief. Did you guys know about eating rice?
Around camp, the tribe still persevered.
DF poked the fire that was started last night, thanks to their flint.
Totally missed us getting the flint. I forgot to read the Day 2 post.
Quin retrieved more water for the tribe, fulfilling another day of quenched thirst.
Thank you Quin.
SVS, Sorsha and Long Con went out on a fishing expedition, bringing back 2, 3, and 3 fish, respectively. Thank goodness that fire was lit today!
Ooh la la, Sorsha. I guess I'm a fast learner! :feb: This is a nice fish boon, and now we have fishing gear as well! I imagine the ideal scenario tomorrow would be for Sorsha alone to use the fishing gear while someone stokes the fire. MAXIMUM FISH!! :noble:
While camp went about their chores, Epi and notsawyer went exploring around the island.
I suppose if you guys just take note of your stats and what they look like tomorrow morning, then we'll at least have a better idea of what those options do.
At the challenge, the players were designated to set up in bouts of mud wrestling with pads. Players strategized the best way to go about it, and decided to send their strongest first.
OptOut is their Strength person, let's take note. Maybe others. Am I our only Strength person?
OptOut for Mamana and LC for Atamai. An imposing matchup. Both went at it fast and loose early, and seemed pretty evenly matched. LC never slowed down, however, and kept pummeling OptOut until she was inches from the edge. OptOut pushed right back with a low jab to trip up Long Con. As Long Con fell, he whipped one last high attack and barely knicked OptOut, making her lose her balance. Both combatants fell into the mud, but OptOut fell first. That was a close match. Atamai was up 1.
Sounds like OptOut might have used a similar strategy, hits early. Also sounds like we both hit 20 in the same round, and I narrowly edged her out: ("If both players reach/exceed 20 in the same round, win goes to higher number") I would like to know the numerical dice roll results of this one after the game Scotty! Save it please!
Next came SVS and INH. INH immediately swung high and caught SVS in the upper lip. It was all downhill for her, as she was pushed out rather suddenly. Score for Mamana! It was tied 1-1
Ouch. Maybe they have two Strength folks.
speedchuck and Sorsha was a more measured fight. No one seemed to really have the edge, and no one was really landing any hits. After an exhausting bout, speedchuck swung low for a last attack, and Sorsha deftly stepped out of the way for speedchuck to fall into the mud.Atamai was up 2-1.
Sweet match, sounds close. Love it!
But that didn't stop LoRab from unleashing her fury on a stupefied DF. DF fell into the mud in dirty defeat. Tied again, 2-2./quote]
Sounds brutal. I wanna see ALL these dice rolls after the game, please. Scotty, this was cool.
DH put on his crown...

Excuse me? :ponder:
...and stepped up to Quin. The arena was quite covered in mud at this point. DH covered himself in excess mud to appear more imposing. He was not more imposing. Without warning, Quin lunged at DH and pushed him back-first into the mud. Atamai is up 3-2! One more would win it!
Crown goes to Quin...?
Wilgy knew it was up to him to salvage the fight, up against notsawyer. But notsawyer had other plans. He took a few hits from wilgy right off, but Wilgy became worn down and while he gave it his all, it wasn't enough. He slipped and fell face first in the mud.
Atamai scores their 4th point and WINS THE CHALLENGE!

Atamai wins immunity, and will be safe from the vote tonight. They also won the reward offered yesterday in the form of fishing gear. Use it well, fellas!
It is now Night 3. Night will end at Midnight, EST.
Again, great job team, so happy for us!!

The felled pine tree has a divot at the base that has been scratched up. I don't know if that is significant.

Someone buried something and retrieved it? Palm tree, right?

Do we have to divide up all the fish manually?

Well, we have 7 fish, enough for all.

I will keep one and send one to Epignosis, just to be safe.
