I think it’s worth bringing up that we have this lynch and tomorrow’s lynch. After that cbob gets auto Lynched Day 6

DharmaHelper wrote: Tue Mar 06, 2018 1:46 pm All I'm saying is beware how easy this looks. Dom finds a slip that, to anyone else, could just as easily have been a hypothetical tribe name. And LC's explanation isn't the understandable "It was a hypothetical tribe name" but rather one that's already been given to him in the thread and that doesn't make sense. Then he claims the hosts bounced ideas off of him, which places the hosts into his lie.

Seems too sloppy to be so neat.
I agree with this...

... but I already thought Dom was bad.
If there are two teams, yeah, Dom could be bad. But they are not the same team imo. LC's excuse was weak; I think he was caught by surprise. You can be sure that if they were teammates and cooked that up in advance, LC would have a way better story ready than, "The host told me".

A bulletproof story would be the most important part of a thing like that.

I wonder if that will happen here, or if we will be one thread by then? No permadeaths so far, at least that we know of. I would think we would have a few of those before being brought together.

I must go see why
A potential slip
With a poor explanation.
Dom started it all

LC knows the name
of the tribe that we can't see
And Dom called that out

Con claimed foreknowledge
From a chat with the game hosts
About the mechanics

Golden is a host
Who would not provide players
advance info drops

Thus LC must have
BTSC in this game
Likely mafia, you think?

This is weak sauce.
I didn't know. I thought you seemed to. And you confirmed it.
Plenty of excuses out there... you chose the worst of them.
speedchuck wrote: Tue Mar 06, 2018 11:01 am On the whole LC thing.

I could see things either way, depending on the hosts. I also agree with LC in his latter post. Either LC or Dom is bad RN. Not both.
This is crap analysis, though. Why can't we be on different teams?
S~V~S wrote: Tue Mar 06, 2018 11:07 am Show of hands, does ANYONE think the hosts would share secret game mechanic info on the Game of Champions with a probable player before the game?
Zero percent chance.
speedchuck wrote: Tue Mar 06, 2018 11:22 am But then, if LC were lying, why couldn't he have said "I just used the name because why not? It was an example."
Because Sloonei is here and would know that's bullshit.
DharmaHelper wrote: Tue Mar 06, 2018 12:15 pm Not to be *that guy* or anything, but uh....

How would anyone *know* LC knew the tribe names unless they also knew the tribe names?
I don't.
I just thought it was something I'd like a response to.
He didn't respond well.
nutella wrote: Tue Mar 06, 2018 12:53 pm Lmao yeah not buying LC's explanation. Total bs that the hosts would do anything like that.

Also the point that Dom might have known the name as well in order to catch the slip -- yeah they could both be bad, though I think more likely on opposing teams than a ploy like DH suggests. If Dom is bad and also knew the name that's an easy way for him to get cred for getting an opposing baddie.

Anyway [VOTE: long con] aubergine
This is good analysis.
But I am not bad.

I think they're on the same team rather than different teams. LC is making his lynch too easy by offering the worst possible excuse for a slip that no one should have been able to catch and Dom comes in and spots it straight out. They want LC lynched so he can buff his role up and Dom can get some cred.

If they were on opposite teams, Dom would have told his team LC slipped and they would have nightkilled LC rather than expose him in the thread.
This is crap analysis.

Why would I expose myself like that? And why wouldn't I, if bad, not lynch him in the thread and get some cred?

IDK either LC, a veteran player and someone smart enough to come up with a plan to clear his teammate and get himself a more useful role did just that, or he made an easily checkable mistake covered by a completely unbelievable lie.

Well I doubt he will have much use of the second role, if we all think he's had, he will still be bad.

And even the most experienced people make mistakes. You said that as if experience precludes mistakes.

You and Chuck seem to be looking for BOTD on LC. Is that a fair statement?

Benefit of the doubt?

My natural tendency is to throw 'scumslips' in the garbage. I've been accused of them when they didn't happen, and I've seen it on other people as well. Most of the time, a slip is too good to be true. And so it's false.

I'm trying to figure this one out, but maybe it's genuine. :shrug2: You guys might know Golden better than I do. It just feels so fake and weird, partly because it's a 'slip', and partly because this is the worst friggin excuse of a lie LC could have come up with. And LC is good at lying and playing the ignorant.

So yeah, it's a fair statement. I'm looking to give LC the BOTD. But I can't find it.

What would have been a believable lie?
More believable than the one he told?

"It was hypothetical" - would save him until at least the merge
"I accidentally received a wrong PM"
"During the shuffling of the players into place, I saw the other tribe during a refresh"
"Golden let it slip in a PM answer to a question I had"
"My role mentions the two tribes, and is survivor related" - technically he would have said "I cannot tell you"

Any of that, as unbelievable as it is that the mistakes or rolestuff might happen, would be better than "The host gave me a look at the game elements before it started"

What would have been a believable lie?

I would have believed "I picked a random tribe name to use as an example"

Certainly more than "I conspired with the hosts to name the two tribes as part of a crucial game mechanic."

Leaving Golden out of it, do you think any host hosting a closed set up with secret mechanics talks to probable players before the game about tangential things like what to name the (secret) tribes?

LC was taken by surprise, he would have had a better story ready had this been planned. In my opinion, of course. LC is a plotter extraordaire, but this reads more like an error to me.

@ DH, fair enough.

LC abandoned all pretense of scumhunting after people started piling up votes on him.

He's bad for sure.

"Thanks for not lynching me" said nutella "I dunno what to make of DDL, but I really appreciate...

Nutella starting frothing uncontrollably at the mouth. Everyone looked in shock. It was nutella who had been lynched afterall. They rounded on DH, who had strung her up.

"Hey fam" said DH "shit got cray, eh? Can anyone find my glasses?"

"Perhaps Sloonei took them back to the Cerberus tribe" said Long Con.

Everyone stopped in their tracks. Surely they hadn't heard right

"Are you trying to tell me that they named their tribe after you?" asked SVS "Who in their right mind would do that? We had enough trouble agreeing on Pikachu, which by the way I bet you all regret. It's a terrible name. We should be named Tribe Olaf."

"Or Tribe Chinese Food" said Quin

"How do you know what they are called, anyway?" asked Dom.

Just then, there was an explosion in the distance. INH's finger landed in colonialbob's cup of tea.

"Good luck reanimating that!" said bob

Everyone returned their attention to Long Con, rounding on him. "Hey" he said "It's not my fault I know the name, I named it. Ask Golden"

"Golden is missing
Don't you even read the posts
aubergine to hell" said Epignosis

"Hey" said bob "did anyone see where that finger went? It's vanished" said bob.

Day 4 has ended. Long Con has been lynched. He was:
11: Commander Shepard (Mass Effect). Your vote value begins at one, and will be determined based on a karmic system. Each day where you vote for a member of the mafia, the worth of your vote will increase by one. Each day where you vote for a civilian, the worth of your vote will decrease by one. Changes to the worth of your vote will take effect from the following day. Your vote is capped at a maximum of 4 and a minimum of -4. You are unable to evolve.

It is now night 4. It will last for 24 hours, meaning you have 22 hours to get your PMs in
