Things had been going smoothly on Team Pikachu for days. Consensus had been easily built, lynchings were prolific. Everyone was happy. But on day seven, things took a turn for the… divisive.

“Suddenly, this game got hard” said nutella “I’m strapped to a bomb vest, AND I don’t know who to vote for.”

“Neither do I” said Dharmahelper “But I’m all in on ties”

“Please do not lynch me
As if you could, I’m haiku’d
That’s perfect timing” said dom

“What’s up with the votes for me” said colonialbob “Is it just because you don’t like bombs?”

“I have solved the game.” Said Epignosis “it hinges around the number 32.”

“Ooooh, I know” said Quin “32 is Mr Freeze. That explains the blizzard.”

“I am the moon, I am the sun” sang speedchuck. He was busy composing a song, having nothing he’d prefer to do with his time.

Everyone started writing lists and listicles. Dragon D. Luffy wrote a “Ten people most likely to be bad at Pikachu” list, but realised that was everyone. Sprityo wrote a “10 ways the hosts are most likely to reference Phenon” list. S~V~S got in on the action, writing a “10 ways to use the word shiggles” list. Everyone was so involved, they barely noticed the sun set.

"Hey look" said nutella "I got this thing off! Thanks for your help, everyone."

Day 7 has ended. Marmot has been lynched. He was:
79: Mt Erebus (Mountain). Frequent blizzards cause loss of visibility. Twice in the game, once during a day phase and once during a night phase, you may prevent any abilities or effects from occurring. Any x-shot abilities used will consume a shot. If any ability or effect has already taken place before you use your ability in a phase, your ability will be consumed without effect, however there will be a risk of death to those who have ventured out into the blizzard.

It is now night 7. It will last for 24 hours, meaning you have 22 hours to get your PMs in

All of the roles have numbers. In CC123, 17 was not Refrigerator, and 15 wasn't Cecil, so I don't know why you would believe 32 is Mr. Freeze.

Also, I'm displeased that I set out a huge set of reasons why DDL should be regarded as not mafia, and none of DDL's voters really engaged it outside of speedchuck.

Dragon D Luffy

Voters: speedchuck, colonialbob, Quin, nutella, Dom

I'm most disappointed in speedchuck's and Quin's votes. I don't understand why they voted alongside the least trusted people.

The other three voted here because they are probably bad.

And being as my original role was from that game myself, I know how that works. The first thing in my role card is a number and it corresponds to the number of the Asian Flu in CC123, another reason why I thought what I thought.

I know you looked it up.

Now look at any number role that has shown up in this game. None of them match CC123 except for yours (as far as I can see). I don't understand why you would push the notion that just because you learn DDL's role is 32, he has to be Mr. Freeze, when none of the other roles match what was in that game.

It's just ironic to me that you say:
S~V~S wrote: Thu Mar 15, 2018 6:49 pm I suspect people based on their posts, not based on things that are impossible to know. To GUESS, to ASSUME, but not to know.

Linki, yes it does, when you KNOW THINGS ha ha.

We know nothing, Chuck Snow.
And then get married to the idea that 32 is Mr. Freeze because 32 was Mr. Freeze in CC123 and there was weather. That's all terribly circumstantial.

I wasn't married to it, it was a theory. And I felt it made enough sense to not lynch someone over it possibly being true.

And Mr Freeze seemed fitting when we had just had a Frozen night post. Now that I see Marmot had the role that likely caused that, I have abandoned that idea.

I gave the strongest evidence possible that DDL is not a teammate of Long Con's, and even speedchuck agreed with it (I think- dude up an voted DDL anyway  ).

I get you are hustling. I am too. But if you're a civilian, at least say, "Yo, Epi, is there any reason I should not be voting for this person?" and I'll be all like, "My dude, stay away" or "Nah man have at it."

And really, how do you know it ISN'T that? It could be. If there is one CC123 role, there could be more.

We have very little to go on, and being so dismissive of others ideas isn't well done, imo. You never know what the thing that breaks it open might be.

I don't know it ISN'T that. I don't care that I don't know. Look at my DDL analysis. I don't KNOW any of that. But I can't sit here and not make moves. I'm going to speculate and use my noodle to the best of my ability. There could be more, but right now, the ratio is like 1 to a lot more than 1.

This is where I vehemently disagree. I think there is a LOT to go on. DDL got lynched.

How many people really considered what I had to say about him today? That got dismissed, and if you ask me, that was damn good analysis (you called it "Nice" yourself).

I know you have. No reason to dwell on it.

I believe DH and speedchuck are (despite the latter's vote). I believe you are, and I know I am.

I'm not sure about anyone else. It's just disheartening to spend 20 minutes putting something together and some can't muster just 5 to look it over. Civilians don't win like that. :sigh:

I didn't vote for him

And really, you don't see the irony in you laughing at my ideas as you freak out over no one paying attention to yours?

And DDL getting lynched will not have any real info value without getting his role flip. So actually, we learned not much there.

I so do NOT want to argue with you. Just please, don't laugh at other peoples ideas. Even if you don't get it, or agree with it, no need to be dismissive or make fun. Some people may be discouraged by that kind of thing, and maybe they will be afraid to throw out their NEXT idea, which could be the one that busts the game open. Thanks.

I wasn't really laughing. I shouldn't have used the laughing face. I use it a lot. I apologize for that.

Similarly, I am not interested in arguing with you.

The most important thing to me is already evident to me. We don't have to agree on theories. I think your theory was bunk, sure, but that isn't the same thing as me believing you were being insincere when you held to it. That's the objective here- figuring out who is being disingenuous. I found the nature of your Life 1 posts to be genuine (which is why I balked when I saw your role), but I have found the nature of your Life 2 posts to be no less genuine.

We can always fight over theories, but in the end, I am going to be more concerned with whether I believe you really believe what you are saying.

Sorry about the vote. I saw that DDL was going to be stuck in the lead no matter what I did, so I decided to make sure it went through without any shenanigans.

I'm stupid that way.

But it looks like nobody got lynched. Bring on the nightkills on our side or whatever. I give the least information with my flip and am the most townfirmed. I'm sure scum are salivating.

I don't understand why you are making this assumption.

Nobody got lynched? Bring on the Night kills on our side or whatever?

Come on.

How about this?

We get lynches and Night kills. They get lynches and Night kills.

Which lynch results and Night kill results we get may be subject to role operations and not host mechanics.

That's sort of what LC suggested.

I have no idea. It's not under my control, whatever it is.

I'm not concerned with confirming anything. We have to throw ideas around and go with what we think is best. Sitting around waiting for confirmation means the mafia can dictate what happens in the thread. I'm not about that.

We had no confirmation that Long Con was lying about conversing with the hosts, so apparently you aren't about that either.
Yes that's what I meant.
Thank you for your thoughtful tort.

D could be good 1st

Then inherit evil.
Why are you ignoring that?
Sigh. Dismissive Epi.
I gave a solid reason why DDL's second role is a civilian role. Your entire reason for voting DDL is "But DDL could be bad now."

I don't know how you could read my Henry Fonda post and say that I'm dismissive and ignoring the possibility that DDL's second role could be a bad one.
Then I am confused.
I'm not sure I understand
Your reasons on him.
If DDL is bad, I doubt he could be bad with LC (that would be an overpowered mafia in my opinion).
Therefore, for DDL to be bad, he must be on a different team.
LC's team was named the Evil Evens, and LC's ultimate role number was 96.
I therefore take this to mean that the other mafia team is named the Obnoxious Odds.
DDL's role number is 32, which is not odd.

For DDL to be bad, you would have to believe one or more of the following things:

1. DDL and LC are teammates and that the one mafia had two powerful vote manipulators (thereby great crippling the civilian's most powerful tool- the lynch poll).
2. There is no Obnoxious Odds mafia team.
3. A mafia member's second role number does not have to correspond with the numerical descriptor of the team name.
4. DDL's role number is not actually 32.
I still don't understand why DDL's first role is indicative of whether his second role is on LC's team...

I still don't understand the why DDL's first life has to be tied to his second. I have asked it several times. You ignored it several times. I dug into your analysis. I asked this question. I still don't understand the answer.

And........
And that is something one who cares about finding mafia should consider.
Expound upon this. Why should I care whether Bloops is a Night 1 target or not? Who would target her N1, in your estimation? Mr. "Don't just say stuff"
nijuukyugou has never been, in my experience, killed Night 1. She also does not get lynched early, and she likes poetry, so I assume she would have sent in a poem. That means, if we accept the other tribe had the same haiku lynch protections in play, she would not have been in danger of being lynched. That means her BTSC partner would have been under no pressure to tip his or her hand (the rules notwithstanding). In addition, in my experience, nijuukyugou does not typically have a good reason to vote one person or the other Day 1.

Therefore nijuukyugou was a kill that happened because whatever discussion happened in the other tribe was comfortable enough discussion for the mafia faction. It was a clean kill that wouldn't lead to anybody, and one that was unlikely to draw the attention of any protective roles.

Given the above, I am looking for go-along-get-along people here.
Extrapolation
and more extrapolation
quite a jump there
You're going to have to get used to extrapolation. I have no other tools to worth with when considering the Night kill target given that I don't know what went on there. But I do know what nijuukyugou does 90% of the time on Days 1, and I know her in real life, and I introduced her to this site, so if I'm going to be comfortable making extrapolations, it will be now.

This was a kill meant to maintain the status-quo in their tribe. Book it.
Epi, I understand your theory, and it's a great theory.

I have two questions:
1) How can we test it?
2) What does it mean for us here on Team Pikachu?

I asked epi questions before that he didn't like so he didn't answer them.
Weird.
