Re: Harry Stephen Keeler [ENDGAME]
Good game everyone! I had fun and am a bit peeved that I didn't win. But alas--- I played my hand with BR too early. Though, given the writing on the wall, maybe she could have let me live.
I knew Zomba had the vault because I checked her. I also checked BR and discovered that she had the safe. Since splints never got it after she died-- I knew BR had to be bad. I tried to create a case out of this, and I'm sorry if I sucked at it BR. I also was told she had more than one item NOT in the safe.
Thx to hosts and players. I had a wonderful time.

Dom you so persevered that it put the doubt in my head about BR. Why is he asking that question? Why is he so sure Vompati doesn't have the items? etc. You turned my head and thats all it took along with SVS.

Dom, splints didn't have the safe because she gave it to me BR didn't get the safe until I died. In fact, Golden, DP and splintsy ALL were able to successfully die holding none of our oriental treasures or other items until the baddies whacked me. We played an intense game of hot potato and it worked right up until the end.

Re: Harry Stephen Keeler [ENDGAME]
Here are some of the things I expected to happen, that didn't happen.
1. I expected the player with the Reed Bardeen role to play a more audacious game and try to take a few votes. In hindsight, ten was probably too many, I should have made it lower, but I think in the hands of an Epignosis, a Turnip Head, or even a Vompatti, that role could have been dangerous.
2. I expected people to try to vote earlier to get items, and I expected people to try to deduce the Celestials by who was voting early. I guess the obviousness of the Celestials pre-empted that though. Casimir Jech was able to get a lot of benefits by trading items, but Rabbit spent most of the game without one. He never voted first to try to get one.

I thought I was doing really well. I was mostly truthful with Ear Tube info. I mean you guys did sound like baddies trying to string up Bullz and Dom.S~V~S wrote:Even though i knew you were bad, it really was like kicking a kitten.
SVS it was you discussing dogs then?
Also I was telling the truth about not having an item for most of the game. I didn't get an item until I killed LC (which I will NEVER hear the end of). I think it's the first time I killed him and he was not happy with me at all.
Epig had me convinced that we couldn't work together. He was our leader *points finger*.
I had the safe? Well that was one item I forgot about. I killed you because you were calling me a liar and your case was not a case. You upset me. :P I was going to die anyways, you might as well waited until after. I probably would have killed you anyways because it was between you and SVS and I didn't want to kill SVS. Re: Harry Stephen Keeler [ENDGAME]
Locations and Twists:
22nd St. - The initial place people get items. Upon return, the players learn the names of everyone who has been imprisoned by Chief O'Toole.
Archer Ave. - Wah Hung Fung's Huose where the players can ask question about items and learn info. No one seemed very interested in taking advantage of this.
Michigan Ave. - A random player is named in the will of another random player, inheriting all their stuff when they die. It never occured to me that this would be confused with the other will in the item list. In HSK novels, there is always AT LEAST one crazy will.
Van Buren St. - Two random players switch roles.
State St. - A item is a forgery. In this case, it was the will named on Michigan Ave.
Wabash Ave. - The auction house where people can sell items.
Dearborn St. - A random player fakes his death and reappears the next cycle.
Randolph St. - Two random players are long lost twins and gain BTSC.
Clark St. - Red herring. No twist.
Linki BR: I did not mean to say you didn't play the role RIGHT, you just didn't play it as I expected, which is very much a different thing.

Yes the serotonin thing was us, Splints was talking about Chico, and I had just read article about a study they did with serotonin levels and different species. they said that if humans and dogs stare at each other, it elevates the serotonin levels of both, and that this is the only instance of this. They studied all kinds of other animals (walruses staring at hedgehogs? Nothing) and it was only the dog/human bond that made that kind of biological impact.

This was funny, and llama's description should say "role," rather than player, I think.thellama73 wrote:Michigan Ave. - A random player is named in the will of another random player, inheriting all their stuff when they die. I believed Long Con was Gilrick Sandringham because he was gunning for me hard as hell. My belief was that he could give his will to someone, and that player's role would be noted in the newspaper. A clever take on a role check, I figured. Therefore, I decided to preempt Long Con's "info" (which he never had, lol), and try to diffuse the situation.
I thought I was all right after the Sophie lynch, but then I got Yescursed.
By the way, S~V~S, my Yes lyrics to you about defending me? I thought that was funny as shit. That's all that was.

Holy carp, a Vompatti win! Congrats to the other winners as well. I think Bass is on a three-game streak. (except if he played in RR and I forgot about that)
As a spectator, I just want to say the amount and type of curses was just amazing and incredibly funny.
Why didn't the Celestials win? I couldn't keep up with who had what item and what Treasures needed to be secured.

Re: Harry Stephen Keeler [ENDGAME]
Congrats to the civvies!
I was convinced someone had been recruited because I just had too many people I thought were bad. I didn't occur to me the celestials would want to work with the baddies. I knew every time someone tried to push a lynch my way they were bad. For the record, I could either put an item in the bag or use it-not both. I figured they would be stolen. I just misunderstood what I heard Night 1 for a while. I was really hoping offering up my vote would save me another day.
Thanks for the great game Llama!

We weren't working for the baddies, we were horribly misguided though; i honestly believed BF to be bad, we ALL thought Sophie was bad, and several of us really thought you were bad. We tried to connect to them after the killed Splints. They blew us off and then killed TH. After that we lost our win, so we didn't give a crap.

Actually I was saying we should kill you the night we went with Rabbit (or maybe the night we killed TH). I think ultimately you only lived as long as you did because we hoped you'd go after SVS and get one or both of you lynched.Dom wrote:I might have won if I had waited just a day or two longer before bringing it upjuliets wrote:Dom you so persevered that it put the doubt in my head about BR. We didn't believe you about the safe. What was in it? I remember saying it was either empty or a trap that would lead to our lynches. FWIW I felt a bit bad killing off your team as we did, but we saw you all as a threat. Epi was happy to continue massacring you but I convinced him to leave you and TH alive because I didn't think the two of you alone could do much damage.S~V~S wrote:We weren't working for the baddies, we were horribly misguided though; i honestly believed BF to be bad, we ALL thought Sophie was bad, and several of us really thought you were bad. You vouched for Canuck. We were annoyed with the amount people vouching for each other and wanted to eliminate anyone with btsc, regardless of how active their partner was.Dom wrote:Why?Bullzeye wrote:Actually I was saying we should kill you the night we went with Rabbit (or maybe the night we killed TH). So did ours. Which was why the baddie strategy of NKing the people leading lynches on civvies baffled us Lol.

@Bullz, we thought you might be NKing us because we were annoying you. But our roles allowed for open defense. And the more you killed us the more intentionally obnoxious it got.

Re: Harry Stephen Keeler [ENDGAME]
I genuinely don't understand how nobody else seemed to realise who you all were. If I'd been a civ I'd have suspected people for it. I was hoping I'd be able to plant doubts in your/TH's minds about people who were going after you so hard and that probably helped my death. But regardless, for all we knew it was just a matter of time before this very obvious 5-person civ-friendly team decided to go after the actual baddies, and we couldn't let that happen.S~V~S wrote:So did ours. You weren't annoying us... Well not all of us... I found it quite funny actually that people seemed so oblivious. As I said earlier, the only person we really killed purely for being a Celestial was Splints. Golden was one of the initial names we threw out as potential Celestials, but we weren't sure. DP died more because if he'd been lynched his team would become trusted. TH seemed like he was coming after us.

Re: Harry Stephen Keeler [ENDGAME]
Which to be honest is probably why I thought you were bad. I couldn't understand why a player with BTSC could continue to read civvies as baddies, and baddies as civvies.S~V~S wrote:We weren't working for the baddies, we were horribly misguided though; i honestly believed BF to be bad, we ALL thought Sophie was bad, and several of us really thought you were bad. The only reason I changed my mind was because I had the skull which could let me check a dead player, and I checked Golden, learning he was a Celestial. I then did a complete reread of him, and every player he did not suspect. Between the interactions with you and him, and his non-suspicions, I was able to confidently figure out who the other four Celestials were.
Then I was promptly NK'd.

Re: Harry Stephen Keeler [NIGHT 3]
OH! So, funny story here. I wanted the Celestials to steal the Ear Tubes that I stole from Liz Night 1. I figured I was going to be nightkilled very promptly for coming after Epig and getting him lynched, and I didn't want the Ear Tubes in baddie hands.Long Con wrote:Anyway, I just want to reiterate to the Celestials, to Ichabod: please steal from me tonight. I promise that you will be glad you did. If you don't, then a great opportunity for you will be lost.
Unfortunately, I didn't know that I had stolen the Bottle from Epig's safe when I assumed Luke McKracken's role. It was unclear that Luke got to STEAL from the safe, it seemed like he just got to SEE what was in the Safe.
So when Llama told me my Bottle was stolen, I was like "What bottle??" Sorry if that was confusing, TH, I can't imagine what you guys must have thought I was trying to do.

It's not BS... you made yourself into a Confirmed Civvie, so you had to go. Basic Mafia logic. Re: Harry Stephen Keeler [ENDGAME]
When half the civs left are vouching for the other half, the game becomes stupidly difficult for the mafia. So the people who vouch get killed to deter others from making the same choice. Canuck's inactivity meant she wasn't an issue for us, but she was still practically a confirmed civ along with you. So you died. A big reason why we killed Rabbit was SVS' vouch for him. MM and LC were killed for being too good at the game, we had reason to believe BR was a dangerous civ, and you've seen why we killed Celestials. Who do people expect the baddies to kill, if not those who pose the biggest threats or cause them the most problems?Dom wrote: So I was killed because you were "annoyed" with the vouch I made for Canuck?
