Daniel has a dream revealing one sentence of BTSC to him.

Isaiah
Isaiah has a vision, learning the target of the one for whom he voted.

The Kings
“Hear, O ye kings; give ear, O ye princes; I, even I, will sing unto the LORD; I will sing praise to the LORD God of Israel.” (Judges 5:3)

David
The most famous king of Israel, may, in order, play his harp to sooth someone else, removing that person from the poll, sling a stone to block a person, take a census to learn how many civilians remain, and finally, show mercy on someone else by pardoning him.

Solomon
In order to impart his great wisdom, Solomon writes a proverb each Night to be included in the Night post.

The Patriarchs
“And thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in a good old age.” Genesis 15:15

The Ten Commandments

I. Thou shalt not speak privately with thy neighbor without my permission; I am the Host.
“But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.” (Matthew 12:36)

II. Thou shalt not edit nor delete your posts.
“And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.” (2 Peter 2:3)

III. Thou shalt not publically identify your role nor the role of thy neighbor, nor shalt thou identify the person using your account, even in BTSC.
“Whoever goes about slandering reveals secrets, but he who is trustworthy in spirit keeps a thing covered.” (Proverbs 11:13)

IV. Thou shalt not post private messages the Host sends to thee.
“The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things that are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.” (Deuteronomy 29:29)

V. Thou shalt not double target.
“Do not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people.” (Leviticus 19:18)

VI. Thou shalt not use thy Host’s color.
“For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God.” (Isaiah 14:13)

VII. Thou shalt speaketh in red if life hath gone out of thee.
“Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the realm of the dead, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom.” (Ecclesiasties 9:10)

VIII. Thou shalt use off-topic green and non-player blue as appropriate.
“And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.” (1 Timothy 5:13)

IX. Thou shalt ask your Host for any assistance you may require.
“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not, and it shall be given him.” (James 1:5)

X. Thou shalt not be an asshat.
“Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice.” (Ephesians 4:31)

The Books of First and Second Mafioso: Preface
After the recent discovery of a pair of supposedly ancient manuscripts in a tomb in southern Lebanon, scholars ranging from historians to philologists are keen on determining the nature and authenticity of the documents, wondering if they can shed light on the mysteries of the Bible. Gregory Pope, noted anthropologist and social-science author, has written that the manuscripts (titled First and Second Mafioso) may give insight into the culture of ancient Near Eastern peoples.

Other scholars remain unconvinced.

Rabbi Moshe ben Yochai, Talmudic expert, notes a “dubious quality” regarding the authorship of the manuscripts, pointing out that the style is too dissimilar to ancient Mediterranean manuscripts of the same period, and that instances of words foreign to the languages of the time make repeated appearances. Terms such as “feb” and “linki” do not appear in any known text from that region. Linguists are puzzled as to their meaning, and have thus far only been able to offer conjecture.

The content, though, as far as it has been accurately translated, involves acts of brutality, betrayal, and deception that rivals that found in canonical literature. Stonings are frequent and disturbing, sometimes taking place over the slightest infractions. Public vengeance is not the only manner of violence that appears, and if the authenticity of the manuscripts can be confirmed, they will serve as grim evidence that the people depicted in biblical literature were even more brutal and less forgiving than canon suggests.

Questions:

- How does the diciple mechanic work? Each disciple looks for another at night, and when a diciple is found, that persons ability is activated? Will the searcher be told whether they have found a disciple? If one disciple finds another, does the person who found a disciple stop searching or do they continue to search?

- Can Noah select the same 7 players each time?

- Does Goliath's role block count for the searching of disciples?

- Does Jezebel's ability take away a disciples search as well as his power?

- It doesn't say whether the four horseman have BTSC, so are these roles independent?

There's no need to shout. I, the Host, have heard thy prayer.

-The disciples search for one another in the manner in which you have described. They will not be told if they are successful. Disciples search as long as they are alive.

-Yes.

-Yes.

-The disciples are not prophets, so no.

My mistake, I confused prophets and disciples. Probably something to do with them sharing the same role colour. Other than that, thanks!!

Mr. Epig Sir-- when talking about the Apocalypse, do you mean the genre as a whole? For example, the book of Daniel is an excellent example of apocalyptic literature, but it not in the actual Apocalypse as depicted in the New Testament.

Frankly, 1-2 Samuel and 1-2 Kings are where it's at, people. But I don't see a Deuteronomistic History option. I'll stick with The History, then. Though, The Law is awfully fun too. I'll have to sit on it.

Green is for off topic, fluff stuff. Blue is for non players posting here for whatever reason. BTSC is behind the scenes contact. For the roles that are allowed to talk to each other out of thread.

I would say when most people refer to the apocalypse they are referring to the book of revelation. Genesis is the beginning, so that's unlikely.

I voted for the gospels because it is the truth we've been instructed to deliver to the world.

Daniel contains eschatological content, including an apocalypse, although his book is generally categorized in the "major prophets."

An "apocalypse" is synonymous with the word "revelation." The word refers to uncovering something, or making something that was hidden known. The word itself has nothing to do with the end of the world, although it has long since gained that connotation. It's interesting to me how words adopt meanings they did not have at one time.

Checking in.

I voted for the law, because a LOT of other people had.

Hello all ye sinners. I'm voting for Apocalypse so I can tell these filthy Ninevites all about how they're going to burn in hell

I would say when most people refer to the apocalypse they are referring to the book of revelation. Genesis is the beginning, so that's unlikely.

I voted for the gospels because it is the truth we've been instructed to deliver to the world.
Know-it-all! :p

I like the epistles, myself.
Philippians 4:8 - Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

I already like this person who confuses the beginning with the end.

It made me laugh a lot...

The best part of these games is the wacky play-acting and shenanigans.

Rachel wrote:Mr. Epig Sir-- when talking about the Apocalypse, do you mean the genre as a whole? For example, the book of Daniel is an excellent example of apocalyptic literature, but it not in the actual Apocalypse as depicted in the New Testament.

True enough, though, apocalyptic literature littered the Prophets by their nature. But this answers my question nonetheless.

Green is for off topic, fluff stuff. Blue is for non players posting here for whatever reason. BTSC is behind the scenes contact. For the roles that are allowed to talk to each other out of thread.

Epignosis, will we discover the results of this poll?
Thanks. People talk enough off topic that we need a color code for that?

Voted for the epistles because there is much wisdom in the advice from Paul that is applicable to the modern church. I love letters.

I have never been a fan of Pauls; he is such a misogynist. And would non-game related Biblical chatter be OT?
