Arkham Mafia [ENDGAME]

#1

Arkham Mafia
A Gotham City game for 31 players.
Wayne Manor (3)
Even with the two crime families defeated, Gotham wouldn’t be safe. No. For each dead Arkham inmate, Wayne Manor gains 12%. For each crime family member out, including corrupted cops, Wayne Manor gains a 5%. For each dead member of the GCPD, Wayne Manor incurs a 2% penalty. For each dead member of Wayne Manor, there is an 8% penalty. Wayne Manor wins dead or alive by having at least 100% by endgame.

Image

Bruce Wayne
During the Day, Bruce Wayne conducts business. At Night, he is Batman. *Secrets*

Image

Alfred Pennyworth
The butler knows the identity of Master Bruce.

Image

Tim Drake
Using his acrobatic skills, Robin can prevent his own lynch once, and can once prevent the lynch of someone else. When he rescues someone else, he will use his detective skills that Night to determine the identity of the person he saved.

Image

Gotham Police (13)
Must defeat the two crime families.

Commissioner James Gordon
The Commissioner will send a message to the thread at Night. If three cops are dead, and both Gordon and Batman are alive, the two gain BTSC.

Detective Harvey Bullock
Bullock tracks or kills someone each Night. He has just one kill. Better make it a good one.

Renee Montoya
Takes a person into custody each Night. That person cannot post or vote the next Day.

Cops (10)
Each cop will be randomly assigned one of the Arkham Asylum escapees, whom that individual cop will need dead to win in addition to defeating the two crime families.

Image

The Falcone Family (2)
Has BTSC
Needs the Maroni Family and GCPD dead.

Carmine Falcone
Buys off one cop (choosing a number 1-10) on the first even Night. This cop joins the Falcone family, gaining BTSC. The family needs the cop's Arkham inmate dead too.

Victor Zsasz
Kills on odd Nights. Blocks on even Nights. The bought cop inherits the kill first.

Image

The Maroni Family (2)
Has BTSC
Needs the Falcone Family and GCPD dead.

Salvatore Maroni
Buys off one cop (choosing a number 1-10) on the first odd Night. This cop joins the Maroni family, gaining BTSC. The family needs the cop's Arkham inmate dead too.

Tony Zucco
Kills on even Nights. Blocks on odd Nights. The bought cop inherits the kill first.

Rupert Thorne (1)

Image

Rupert Thorne
An independent crime boss who has little strength as yet, Thorne will decide on any given Night whom he wants to help. He will gain BTSC as a consultant with that person (and any co-conspirators) and share that person’s win condition.

Arkham Asylum (10)

Image

The Joker
Anyone who targets The Joker will be made insane by the toxic flower on his lapel. He needs Batman, Gordon, Falcone, and Maroni dead. *Secrets*

Image

The Penguin
As a powerful informant, The Penguin learns the role of the person he votes for, and may blackmail his victim. The victim has a choice to either do whatever The Penguin says or have his or her role sent to a rival person. The Penguin wins by surviving.

Image

Catwoman
An adept thief, Selena Kyle steals one person’s win condition. If her target ever votes for her, she becomes paranoid, and must choose someone else to steal from next.

Image

The Scarecrow
Dr. Jonathan Crane uses his fear toxin to cause people to dread those they might otherwise trust. Using this toxin on one target per Night, that target will need the role the Scarecrow names dead in order to win. Crane can never target the same person more than once. If The Scarecrow is lynched, then he gives up the antidote and those new win conditions no longer apply. Over half of the living population must be hallucinating for The Scarecrow to be successful.

Image

The Riddler
Edward Nygma has questions that need answering. *Secrets*

Image

Two Face
Two Face takes a hostage every Night. If someone targets Two Face with any negative action, a coin is flipped. Heads means that he takes it. Tails means that his hostage takes it. Harvey Dent wins with civilians on odd phases. Two Face wins with Mafia on even phases.

Image

Poison Ivy
Dr. Pamela Isley, ecologist and terrorist, can poison anyone each Night. A poisoned person will die unless he or she discovers the antidote. *Secrets*

Image

Bane
Bane has a convoluted history with Batman. On Nightfall of the third phase, Bane must decide if he wants to support or oppose Batman. This choice will affect his win condition, which will be a secret until then even unto him. *Secrets*

Image

Mr. Freeze
Dr. Victor Fries is researching a way to save his beloved wife, Nora from a terminal illness. Renee Montoya has the right genetics for him to save Nora. Using his freeze ray, Mr. Freeze blocks up to two targets each Night. Montoya must be frozen twice for him to win. If Montoya dies before Mr. Freeze completes his task, he goes cold, and becomes last man standing, killing each Night.

Image

Ra’s al Ghul
Longevity and rejuvenation are his, the controller of the Lazarus Pit. If Ra’s al Ghul (The Head of the Demon) is lynched, then anyone who has been slain at Night can be dipped in the Lazarus Pit, receiving full vitality. Ra’s al Ghul, is also of the League of Shadows, which is testing him: Ra’s al Ghul will select four roles by the end of Day 0 that must be eliminated by the end.

BREAKING NEWS: BREAKOUT AT ARKHAM ASYLUM!

Image
A riot at Arkham Asylum has resulted in the escape of multiple inmates and a string of brutal murders. The city has hired a group of independent investigators to determine the whereabouts of some of these escapees, as well as their killing streaks and how much cash they are hoarding. If you are willing to help, they are listening.
It is now Day 0. You have 48 hours to visit a location.

Looks like you are in the clear sig.

I know I say this and then people still sus me anyway but...

I'm GOING to be quieter this game.

I have a plan for the very few games I can sign up for in the coming months. Arkham was not on that plan. I just started a new role at work, and have heaps of other stuff going on in real life, so I need to be very careful with my time.

Yay game! Can't wait to play this.

Like Golden, however, I anticipate that I will be playing a quieter game than normal. I need to come up with that dissertation, among many other things. XD But I'll inevitably get sucked in still I'm sure.

Didn't even realize this is a map game... so that's pretty sweet. Should have assumed it would be with LC at the helm though. Where do we want to go?

I don't now why do we fall TH?

So location wise it seems like we go to whatever place we vote for and it isn't the majority picks the location as it was in Star Wars?

Like Golden, however, I anticipate that I will be playing a quieter game than normal. I need to come up with that dissertation, among many other things. XD But I'll inevitably get sucked in still I'm sure.

Didn't even realize this is a map game... so that's pretty sweet. Should have assumed it would be with LC at the helm though. Where do we want to go?
I think we should start where the breakout happen to see if we can gather any clues from there. What are your thoughts?
That makes sense to me.
That's where I would start an investigation.

I have no idea how any of this map business works so I'm just gonna treat it as though it was any other Day 0 location poll.

So yeah still no idea of how to vote. Starting where the breakout happened does make sense, sort of, but I'm also kinda wary about going head first into baddie territory. The deal with these things is that there's always obvious goodie/baddie spots, but how each works is still very much a gamble.

@Hosts - what happens if both crime families try to buy off the same cop?

Bass's idea sounds sensible enough, but I'd also point out that everyone from the Asylum appears to be independent. So, it might not help us find the crime families (who seem more analagous to mafia).

But a lot of those independents don't seem exactly friendly.

God I have missed playing mafia with you and everyone else. Also on that note I know the games that I signed up for in the past I didn't participate or subbed out its because I got into a serious relationship and couldn't figure out how to balance the two. Me and my lady friend have moved into together so it should make balancing the two a lot easier. So my hat goes off to anyone who has a significant other and plays mafia because it's extremely hard if your significant other is like mine and doesn't like cell phones or laptops out while we are hanging out. Lol
Oh how awesome congrats :D

And the Asylum makes sense as the scene of the crime; I was thinking that or the Police Station are both good ideas. But I don't know all that much about this universe, so I am willing to listen to those that do.

Arkham Asylum, Where Independents escaped from, this could also be seen as their territory.

Wayne Manor Batman's/Civ faction house this would be the safest location to visit imo.

Wayne Enterprises Batman's/Civ business center, this could be seen as safe, but also a target for the mafia/Inmates

Fish Mooney's This is a gangsters/mafia area I think?

The Docks This would be more mafia aligned, since from what I remember from Batman alot of illegal activities occur here.

Gotham City Police Department One of the safest places except for the fact after night 1 we will have dirty cops. Which heightens the danger of this area. But, still more pro civ then many other locations.

City Hall Neutral area

Park Row (Crime Alley) Defiantly pro-mafia and inmates. Doesn't seem like a safe place to visit.

Blackgate Penitentiary This would be the regular prison, so I'd think we would be able to get more information about the mafia from this location.

Gotham City General Hospital The hospital would be neutral right now, but could be a target for inmates.

So I think Wayne Manor, the police headquarters, Blackgate, or maybe Arkham would be the best locations to visit. If we thing going to certain locations will give us clues on inmates/mafia I think it would be better to go to a location that would help us uncover the mafia. Or somewhere that would be seen as safer like Wayne Manor, at least until we now more about the map.

That's a good point about Blackgate, sig. You'd think of it as one of those regular baddie spots but it's just a regular prison and not any baddie's territory.
Gotham City General Hospital The hospital would be neutral right now, but could be a target for inmates.
What does this mean? This option sounds kinda wasteful tbh cause I don't know what we'd get from visiting a hospital, but I agree it sounds "neutral" enough.

Yeah, but that is different from needing 'the independents' dead. We all need the crime families dead whereas, for instance, only one of us needs any given independent dead. Out of 16, including Wayne Manor.

But it looks pretty decently in Wayne Manor's interests to take them out.

This is from Gotham's show wiki about Fish Mooney's

Mooney was a member of the Falcone crime family and the owner of Mooney's Nightclub.

This might be a good location to visit if we want information about the Falcone mafia faction. I'm unsure if this is a place in the comics so I'm just going on TV Show knowledge?

Mooney was also a semi helpful informant for the Gotham police so this location might help with knowledge about either crime family, corrupt cops, and inmates.

Thoughts?

linki: Well I was mainly thinking from the second Batman movie with Joker blowing up the hospital so it might be a target for inmates, I'd think the hospital could help players if they get poisoned or something like that.

@sig - I'd be up for Fish Mooney's, that sounds like a good idea.

On the other hand, the idea of heading to Arkham right after the breakout still might be a good one despite the fact they aren't the mafia.

@Hosts I take it the game ends when two out of the three main competing factions (GCPD + the mafias) are dead? Or do all independent-related conflicts need to be resolved as well? (Joker vs Batman, Gordon, Falcone and Maroni for example)

linki:

@Golden: Every independent is assigned to a civvie. It makes sense that if we want the civives to win, we'd go after them. And yes, Wayne Manor should probably be counted as civvies as well, so that's 13/16 civs with an indie hunt in their best interests.
(linki2: Okay, so now it's a better option)

@sig:

I doubt anybody's starting the game poisoned, so maybe leave that for later.

I don't think it really matters where we go first because we'll probably have to go everywhere eventually. Mooney's and the Docks sound like the likeliest places to find criminals but they could also gain advantages there. I might just chill at the precinct and see if they've got any leads.

No, I don't think it means 'an indy hunt' is the best approach. If there are 9 indies someone doesn't need dead, the chances of them finding their one by hunting indies seems very slim. The town needs 6 out of 6 baddies dead and most of them need 1 out of 10 independents dead. That's a very different strike rate.
