Does anyone here embrace minimalism as a lifestyle? In any part of your life? Like in footwear, I look for something utilitarian, which means I am often in boots and am also bad at being a girl.

But for wall decorations, my place is anything but of the minimalist aesthetic.

I practice minimalism in the following areas:
-going to the doctor
-listening to nutrition advice
-believing chiropractors aren't frauds

I practice minimalism by having a minimal amount of cash in my wallet & bank account; too much $ would weigh me down with mundane worldly concerns.

It depends. I think simple as is would be more minimalistic than taking something complex then simplifying it. Then again, it also makes a larger statement to minimalism. I'm not quite sure.

I find deconstructed more complex than constructed even if it has the same parts.

Well see you can further simplify spaghetti. You could just show a cup of flour or semonlina. Maybe a sprig of basil.

This; it is taking simplicity and complicating it in an attempt to do the opposite.

I'm in an Eno sort of mood tonight, so I think I will post some minimalist music for you all to enjoy.

Discreet Music (1975) was the result of an extended hospital stay by Brian Eno when he could just hear a radio without being able to turn it off. He found the faintness of the sound mesmerizing and promptly composed this piece, which relies on iterative processes to gradually develop over its half hour length. Widely considered to be the first example of modern Ambient music, although drawing on the works of earlier composers such as Erik Satie, from whom we'll hear more later.

I'm pretty minimal when it comes to decor in my home. I cannot stand clutter and I absolutely hate to dust, so the knick-knacks went away not long after my husband and I were married.

Minimalism and food? Well, there is none of that around here. Hubby cooks up some good meals with lots of yummy components. :D

But for wall decorations, my place is anything but of the minimalist aesthetic.

Indeed, I am going to sneak over to your house for dinner.

Between my cake business and Rob's cooking, it is difficult to lose weight though. I had lost 17 lbs of baby weight and then gained it all back over the summer. Rob (school teacher) insisted on cooking at least two meals over the summer. My baby is 17 months and I still have 25 lbs to lose! :sigh:

Mr Llama Host Man, what happens if we lynch John Cage Day One?
Skip softly, my moonbeams, for I have heard tell
That the stairs up to heaven lead straight down to hell

No, I am just pro-longing the game! :haha:
