Prologue: RYM Records, Inc.

Sloonei entered the RYM Record Co. offices quietly through the backdoor, as was his custom and proceeded unseen to Conference Room 6 where he had called a meeting. He entered to a sea of confused faces. The memo that had been sent out had explained the circumstances, but there were few who understood.

The employees of the record company were to join their neighbors at the Syndicate Schemes Gaming Company to help with an innovative new gaming process they had hatched up.

"But we're a music company. What do we have to do with these silly games?" Strawhenge asked the question that was on everybody's mind, but Sloonei paid it no attention.

"I hope you all notified your families that you might be late coming home tonight. I hear this could take a long time."

The confused looks intensified in silence.

"Oh yeah, one more thing!" Sloonei chimed in, "They want to know what our favorite songs are."

"What!?"

"Pick 3."

"The catch is we're not allowed to have any ties. If your opinion forces your favorite song to be tied with another, you need to get a new opinion," Sloonei warned before exiting, his grimacing coworkers cursing him under their collective breath.

I am very concerned about being locked in a room with rdw.

I don't know any of these songs (don't kill me MP!) so I'm happy to be someone whose opinion goes towards tie avoidance.

Hi RYM Players

I will be your "Mod on Duty" for this game. Since you are mostly new to us, I will outline the MOD's functions a bit for you.

I will serve as a combination concierge/Advice Columnist/Cop for this game, the whole game. I am here to answer questions about general site rules and mechanics, about our culture if you see people saying or doing confusing things, and to listen to your complaints if you should have any. I operate via PM, not in the thread. So if you have questions on Jargon, etc., feel free to ask me

We prefer that people do NOT air complaints in the thread, and that they do NOT complain to the host about non game mechanics issues. If it is a question of how or why your ROLE did or did not work, you ask the hosts, MP07 & Sloonei. Other than that you should feel free to ask me. If someone says or does something that upsets you, do not vent to the thread, vent to me. We try our best to moderate behind the scenes so games don't get broken by drama. Because who loves drama? No One.

If I feel that someone seems upset, I may reach out to them to make sure they are OK, and to see if there is anything I can do to help.

Just a quick overview of our site guidelines; In the interest of fostering an atmosphere of fun and good sportsmanship, the Syndicate does not tolerate the use of racial or ethnic slurs, homophobic language, or personal attacks designed to demean or abuse others based on arbitrary characteristics. Be friendly and use good judgment, and we will all get along fine. Respect your peers, and respect the hosts. Most important, remember that I LOVE hearing people complain. Tell me, not the thread.

Let's look at RYM #86 (my first game on RYM) as an example. Almost 4,000 posts for 20 players. Our full games (anywhere from 20-30 players, thought sometimes more) generally range between 3,000-7,000 posts. So yes, I guess you could say that RYM gets more posts in their games, but I don't know if #86 qualifies as the average game or not.
