birdwithteeth11 wrote:@Dom: I already mentioned why I think Epig is bad. I feel he's trying to keep us from making another attempt at lynching redacted. I feel like he's making an awful lot of assumptions about Zodac's powers remaining unchanged (I honestly don't believe MP would do that). While I still do wish that I had held off on voting, I can understand the logic of at least making another attempt today and seeing if either a lynch doesn't occur or if someone else gets lynched instead. Because information is power, and it's just a perfect day. I'm glad I spend it with you.

As for my vote, I honestly thought the poll ended yesterday. So I freaked out when I thought I had 15-20 minutes left to vote and 5 pages to catch up on. So I skimmed really quickly and placed a vote on redacted a minute before I thought the poll closed. When it didn't, I was confused and went and looked at the day and time it ended, and realized I got the day wrong. So yeah, I screwed up.

I do have a question for you though. Why are you willing to trust Epig so much when you've admitted that he's backpedaling? Because I don't see insistence being a good enough reason to go along with someone.
I am not "Trusting" epig. I am willing to hear what he has to say because I don't see his baddie game, even if he is back peddling. I see an Epig who is genuinely (maybe too genuinely concerned with Zodac. I understand the role is powerful, but we can't live in fear every day. After all, Urinetown is any town that lives in fear. I hope someone gets that reference.

You just keep me hanging on

I voted for the obvious candidate, and to him I say, "You're going to reap just what you sow." And MP, while waiting for the lynch post, you just keep me hanging on.

Am I the only one around here who's actually trying to fit the lyrics into sentences?

Day 2: You're All Fools!

The players argued outside The Village of Veridas. This time evil would be gone for good, many of them thought, but there was still disagreement.

Nonetheless, the crowd had spoken. It was to be the one with no name.

insertnamehere stood them down, sticking his tongue out.

Mongoose drew her sword. Kate drew hers. DharmaHelper drew his. Flyin' High drew hers. "BY THE POWER OF GRAYSKULL!!!" they announced, as they charged at insertnamehere.

Epignosis now stood in their way, in defiance. "Don't do it!! Zodac has a trick up his sleeve!!"

thellama73 pushed Epignosis aside and shoved his sword into insertnamehere's gut. Others followed. His body fell to the ground, pierced by dozens of swords, and he quickly died due to the massive blood loss.

"....Such a perfect day...." insertnamehere mumbled, as he lost consciousness.

"You're going to reap just what you sow," birdwithteeth11 commented. He smiled.

"Oh, really?" spewed insertnamehere. birdwithteeth11, among others, was shocked. insertnamehere stood back up, unscathed, with over a dozen giant stab wounds in him.

"You thought I would go down that easy??? HA!" insertnamehere laughed, spitting out blood in birdwithteeth11's face. "You're all fools if you think you can stop me!!!!!" taunted insertnamehere, channeling Eternia's greatest nightmare.

No one has been lynched.

To be continued...

Day 2: Kneel 4 Death

Image

Almost immediately thereafter, a giant piranha plant appeared on the battlefield. "What is that???!" inquired Dom.

"It's a gigantic piranha plant!" answered AceofSpaces, in horror.

The piranha plant burrowed back into the ground, then suddenly popped up elsewhere, and scooped down the first victim it could. Fortunately for the Champions, it was an innocent bystander.

"Help me!!!!!" screamed kneel4justice.

The Champions looked at each other, all thinking someone else would save the poor bystander.

But no one helped him.

No one has been killed by Piranha Plant!

Night 2 Event: The Shield of Grayskull

Image

Sandspurs stuck to the travelers’ feet and the air grew more humid. A light rain took to the task of washing the grime and blood from their bodies, which grew wearier as the evening set in. Distant peals of thunder rumbled in the distance. Lightning flashed in ominous streaks.

It was as though they had forgotten where they were going, when over the horizon, it appeared.

Cyclopean masonry came into view, the greenish gray walls of the legendary Castle Grayskull. It towered high above them, a perfect symbol of ancient wisdom, strength, and all that is mysterious.

As the party considered what to do, and as some worried about their desperately injured companions, the cacophony of a descending drawbridge came upon them. As they approached the gate, they could see a green and gray mist take form in the mouth of the castle. In their hearts, they recognized the ancient Spirit of Grayskull.

It’s pulsating voice was not audible; it was as though the message imprinted itself feely in the recesses of their minds.

“The Sorceress...”

It repeated this phrase in the minds of each individual until the syllables blended into an undecipherable mass of phonemes. Then the phrase took shape, and formed a new, unuttered message.

They perceived that there was a shield wedged in two of the molars of the structure- the Shield of Grayskull. And that whoever possessed it would be protected against any stroke that came by night.

And that the shield grew heavy over time, such that it would have to be passed to someone else who would bear the burden for a while.

It seemed that the Spirit was searching for The Sorceress, and that it could faintly detect her. It wanted her counsel as to who should receive it.

At last the players determined that they must take another vote to determine who would be the first shieldbearer. They could not afford to be unwise.

juliets was puzzled. "Does this feel like deja vu to anyone else?"

"More like plagiarism," Epignosis plainly retorted.

It is still Night 2.

In addition to sending in your night PMs, you have 24 hours to decide who will be the first shieldbearer of The Shield of Grayskull.

I don't know, are *you* ready to do so? This outcome is exactly not the one you predicted.

No lynch means that zodac either does not have the expected power, could not use it for some reason, or wanted inh dead and didn't think he was immune to lynches. I find the first option *vastly* more likely.

And inh is almost certainly fetus, playing like a crazy person to draw fire.

@MP I've got questions about this shield:

1) It sounds as though it is going to be passed around to multiple players....do normal rules apply in that a person can only hold it once?

2) What would happen if we players collectively decided NOT to vote for anyone to possess it?

linki: well Epi kinda spoiled that idea....'s ok though.

A no lynch is exactly what would happen if I were right.

And if I am, then right now so-and-so has 9 votes and anybody else has 9 votes.

Somebody will get lynched tonight.

The man just keeps up the appropriately ominous lyrics... Hats off to you. I'm not quite sure what happened here, but I'm eagerly awaiting the results of the night. If there is, in fact, a lynch, then I will apologize profusely to Epig.

In terms of the shieldbearer, I'm honestly leaning a bit towards Lizzy. The brilliant insanified posting makes me wonder how useful she'd be if given some protection.

:hugs:

I would be in favor of electing Elohcin as well. It's obviously going to change hands for others who would like the same privilege. This is a night protection correct?

I am distinctly unsatisfied with the results of this lynch. Lets hope That Fucker ( :eye: ) isn't right and Mongoose or I aren't NK'd tonight, but sounds like someone will die from this lynch.

i mean that fucker in the nicest way, purely during this game, Sherlock.

Here are my translations. They are in reverse chronological order, so it might make more sense for you to read them bottom to top.

1.

Is that why you think he said you or I would die? :ponder:

juliets wrote:I am worried about the specter of Zodac in this vote today. Given how he operates I have to believe he picked Media as one of his two people last night and god knows who as his other person (thanks Epig for the explanation of the role). So, I feel better waiting to vote for Media until the 3rd day. Unfortunately, that doesn't leave me with a great candidate to vote today. I'm considering one of the VAL's but I'm not totally convinced anymore that Lizzie is bad, and I'm not sure about Vomps or A Person either.

On the other hand, maybe I'm worrying too much about Zodac. Maybe he would just kill Media and we'd be done with it. How are the rest of you feeling that are considering a vote for Media? Mongoose, I'd love to hear your thoughts but you are really constrained with respect to being able to discuss freely. Maybe you could try and I'll see if I get it. Everyone else, I'd appreciate your thoughts on this.
I am so epically far behind, but I'm going to post this now and then keep reading because I'll forget it later.

Why is it more likely that Zodac picked that guy for day 2 than it is that he is holding off for day 3? And how is it that we are so sure that Zodac has the same ability in this game as he did in his former game (He-Man, IIRC)? If the post from Epig came right at dawn and day was over, I think i'd be more on board with this but it didn't...and furthermore it was followed by an extended night to get PMs in per MP. I know not the whole next day but for a while. I guess I'd rather go with what seems like a sure thing than to shoot fish in a barrel and have a repeated day 1.

This theory just has a lot of holes in it, it seems.
Yup. THat's how I feel. One bird in the hand is Hive Queen two porringer the bush.

I guess we'll find out tonight if Zodac still has the same power or not. I think if somebody gets lynched tonight, then he does. If nobody does, then I think it's safe to assume that redacted is Dr. Fetus. But regardless, I am going to do my best to make sure I never directly mention anyone's name in any of my posts. Might be the best way to neutralize Media's power anyway.

I will decide tomorrow who I will vote for.

Also my favorite one. Every song is pure poetry, and the music kicks ass too.

This whole situation is getting annoying. And

STOP.

PEOPLE.
Just in case.

At this point, we might as well try the same lynch we did today tomorrow, since double targeting is not allowed.

For the shield, I support a Lizzy vote. She's been insanely helpful.(Get it? Because she was insanified?) I think she's earned it.
