Gardening

#1

Post by fingersplints »

I've recently gotten into gardening. We have two gardens. One in front and back. I've been spending most of my days cleaning and organizing the back garden, as one of its main functions used to be a dog toilet. Anyways, here it is!

The succulent in front is my newest addition. Just got it today! I am trying to propagate it from cuttings, but not sure how successful I will be in that yet. :shrug2:

Awww, that looks great Splints. I love a good container garden, way easier than trying to break into the red clay we have down here, and you can constantly change it around. Good times. :D

It is one of the things I miss about this place, having a space to have some containers. I would love window boxes, as I am on the second floor, but I am not allowed to add them  I tried to have two containers of herbs in my office as it is nothing but windows. (Which is a NIGHTMARE in the summer down here), but even with the drapes pulled and the blinds closed the sun was too much and fried them. :rip:

Round two of gardening for me. Last year was a bust. One giant zucchini and a few bitter cucumbers.

This year, it's zucchini, sugar snap peas, and corn. So far so good.

They are! I have a new appreciation for marigolds this year. They have never been a favorite of mine, but I like the colors they add.

It's amazing how different it all looks from the pictures I posted earlier!

Here is a photo of my front garden, and my new book about gardening in small spaces!

Wow that is gorgeous! I look forwards to seeing this years garden.

I am going to try some veggie container gardening this year, so I want to start seeds soon. What works well in containers, veggie wise? Any suggestions? I might like a large container with more than one plant in it.
