It's awesome that BDH is so handy, bea. It's exciting when you can get things done. And... USB plugs... thats intriguing and something I hadn't thought about. At the moment we have actual plugs with plugs and usb ports stuck into our wall plugs, so the idea of the usb ports being straight into the wall is a great one. I'm going to have to look into it now, because new switches and sockets in some aprts of the house is one of our first necessary upgrades.

quit being pissy and let your wife post picts of your awesome house in this thread. I've seen what Eloh has done. I know others here would love it too!!!

Quit hating and embrace that we are all one family.

No joke - EVERY guy I've told that too is all "wait -wor???!!! THAT'S AMAZBALLZ!"

and it really is in a low key sort of way.

I'm not even joking at all - every gal on facebook loves our pendant lights. Every dude I showed the plugs to is all OMFG!!!!!!!!

They are handy and practical. Especially as more and more devices need usb outlets. And also entertaining. And omg - my phone is dying -here plug it into this wall outlet...

I think I"ve made it abundantly clear that this thread is all about the love. Quit picking and give us some fucking love epi.

tbh you prolly played it smarter. Just don't go there with me in spelling and autocorrect. Please just understand that sometimes I do it on purpose and sometimes on accident. When you point out my accidents you are a kinda dick cuz I live a fluid word life.

FOR the record, spelling is the least form of criticism about me that I care about. So if you want to go low and cheap. Yea. I'm a great spelling target.

tbh - sounds like she was doing you a favor.

I'm sure that wasn't the thing.

But what I do know is that Eloh finished the kids bathroom and it's awesome!!!

Our thread would love those picts. I saw them on facebook. I would love for you both to share the house stuff with us too.

I mean, you were the FIRST couple to buy a house. Eloh's facebook posts inspired me to dream of on for my own....

Epi - BDH and I are in our 40s. We don't have kids. We are buying our one and only home. We are desperately trying to create equity cuz there is NO ONE BEHIND US to take care of ourselves. WE bought a home that makes us happy and we hope like shit that once we pay it off, our investment will give us some more cash to take care of us in old people land.

We are the same except that we have to take care of this house then dump it, before we move off into retirement community.

I did not buy my tomb. But I'm glad that I bought a house that I will be very happy in as long as I need it, instead of one that was a sucky compromise just to get on the property ladder. Because I really did expect that the latter was all I was going to be able to finance.

One of my co-workers was all "welcome to debt land' and I was just all "welcome to being in debut for *my* thing as apposed to giving so much in rent.

Owenership is tough for sure, but it means never paying rent again. Never throwing away your money at rent again.

me too tbh, its one thing eloh hasn't facebooked. And when he's not pissy and cranky he's ultra should be proud of it.

From what I can gather, he can make or listen to music but not disrupt the house. IDK for sure, cuz he's spent this much time correcting my spelling rather than showing me awesome things.

Exactly. Sure I have a massive debt, but week to week that debt doesn't cost me a lot more than my rent, and at the end of it I have something mine to show for it (and I won't have to be paying rent in retirement either).

At the moment we have actual plugs with plugs and usb ports stuck into our wall plugs, so the idea of the usb ports being straight into the wall is a great one. I'm going to have to look into it now, because new switches and sockets in some aprts of the house is one of our first necessary upgrades.
I'm not lying at all -this was the one thing he did today1 he was MOST proud of. Even more than the lights. And every guy I've talked to about it has reacted like you. "OMG, that's brillant, I should do that!"

yes. It's tight but doable. And no more rent. I don't have that sweet baby to watch grow up and maybe help when I'm old. I have parents to take care of (being the one of my siblings who hasn't had kids) and then myself to take care of. Equity is important at this point in my life.

All my things (laptop, phone, headphones, iPad) plug into an electrical outlet when I want to charge. There is an option to plug my phone, headphones into the computer to charge so I guess these plugs replace that option? They are certainly cool.

We installed electrical outlets where the outlet itself turns any direction so you can charge things with a bulky box in the same outlet as other things. They are so convenient.
