No matter how successful anyone is, it means just about nothing.

Hah, I'm in complete agreement with me as chaotic good. Almost always trying to do right and find Mafia members, almost always going about it in the most convoluted/nonsensical-to-anyone-but-me way possible...

Re: Syndicate Character Alignments
I've done an online test once and got True Neutral, but it asked questions like "if your city is being attacked by monsters, do you try to fight them or run for your life?"
Which is stupid because in real life none of us have superpowers so we don't risk our lives to save random people. We just try to live.
The test seemed to consider the person taking it as some RPG character. But then it's not a personality test, it's a "what kind of character would you rather play as" test.

Re: Syndicate Character Alignments
Hey guys here's another thing that might be fun. The Player Archetypes from Magic the Gathering can to some extent apply to player styles for different games/gaming in general and I was just wondering if they might apply to the priorities of different mafia players and hosts.
The basic archetypes are
Spike -- just wants to win. JaggedJimmyJay says he will do whatever it takes for his faction to win so he is probably a Spike.
Johnny -- likes clever combos.
Timmy -- likes plays that have really big effects.
Each of these has some subgroups outlined on the wiki page I linked which are more specific and I think could apply even more interestingly to mafia (use of flavor, mechanics, social interaction, etc)
There's also a separate axis of Vorthos, who cares about lore/flavor, and Melvin, who cares about mechanics.
I recommend reading some of the descriptions in the article, it's a pretty interesting approach. (Also I think Timmy is a little harder to apply to mafia, but it can definitely apply to big gambits and such)
Personally I think I lean most toward Spike but I love big plays and cool mechanical combos as well (in any type of game, not just mafia)
Additionally this TVtropes page lists these as well as a few other paradigms for classifying gamer types.

Re: Syndicate Character Alignments
I think I trend towards Johnny. I like role interactions and so forth when creating, hosting and even playing games. I also like to set up moral dilemmas for players and see how they handle them. Does that count as torture...? lolnutella wrote: ↑Wed Jan 24, 2018 11:16 pm Hey guys here's another thing that might be fun. Re the ALignment chart (I tried to quote it and all of those little tags attacked me ha ha) I think that Neutral Evil fits my game pretty well.
Also I am a Timmy. Not in real life for sure, but in games, yeah. I like the big play.
