I wrote this up years ago but never got around to hosting the game, but I'll fix them up if this game ends up getting played:
Presenting: INDIANA JONES MAFIA!!! Hosted by Golden.
Adventurers
In order for the adventurers to win, they must take out all of the seekers (both the glory seekers and the immortality seekers).
Indy
Indy is the hero of the game, thus is the most aware and important player to the adventurers.
Therefore, he cannot be nightkilled until there are 3 or less adventurers left alive. If the same seeker team targets Indy twice while he is unable to be nightkilled, the second attempt will rebound and the lowest ranking then alive member of that seeker team will be nightkilled instead.
Additionally, Indy has the ability to ask every night about one person’s affiliations by PM to the hosts. Should Indy ask about the current don of either set of seekers, that person will return as an adventurer. Should the person be a seeker, Indy will not be told WHICH set of seekers the player is affiliated too. Indy may only ask about each person once in the game. Should a position arise where Indy has asked about everyone still alive in the game, this ability will cease to operate.
However, Indy is vulnerable to lynching (except if and as protected by the benefit of the holy grail) and cannot be resurrected once dead.
Willie
Willie can scream loud. Every night Willie will scream in the vicinity of one other character. That character will be silenced for the day. Temporary deafness will also render that character unable to hear arguments for and against a lynching, thus will be unable to vote on that day. Willie will PM the hosts each night with the identity of the character she wishes to silence. Willie cannot silence the same person twice in the game.
Short Round
Short Round is, well, short. The first time an attempt to nightkill Short Round is made, no one will see him and the nightkill will fail.
Marion
Marion is compassionate and resourceful, always with one eye looking for potential dangers. Marion can choose any one person (except herself) to protect from a nightkill each night, by PMing the name of the character she wishes to protect to the hosts. Marion cannot target the same person for protection two nights in a row.
Sallah
Sallah always knows the places around town to hear the latest gossip. Every night, Sallah will receive three pieces of gossip from the hosts, two of which are false and one of which is true. Sallah will choose one of the three pieces of gossip which the hosts will share with the town at dawn. Instead of choosing one of the three pieces of gossip, Sallah may instead choose one further piece of gossip he heard on the previous night.
Marcus Brody
Brody is a dean at Marshall College. He has BTSC with Stanforth, another member of the faculty. He is also notoriously clumsy. Every even day, Brody will accidentally vote for Stanforth to be lynched, and any vote publicly cast by Brody on that day will not count.
Charles Stanforth
Stanforth is a dean at Marshall College. He has BTSC with Brody, another member of the faculty. On even days, he can chose to negate Brody’s vote by PM to the hosts, in which case any vote publicly cast by Stanforth on that day will not count. If Stanforth does not negate Brody’s vote, his publicly cast vote will count.
Henry Jones, Senior
Henry reads a lot of biographies, and so believes he has an innate ability to read people better than the crowd. Once in the game, Henry may change the lynch from the person with the most votes to any one other person who received a vote on that day, by PMing the hosts. The person Henry chooses to lynch does not have to be the person Henry publicly voted for. The ability will fail if Henry will otherwise be lynched on the day in question (ie, Henry cannot use the ability to save himself). If Henry chooses to lynch someone with the benefit of the holy grail, the lynch will fail and Henry’s ability will still be used.
Mutt Williams
Mutt is a jack of all trades. Mutt will have the three abilities in the game. However, Mutt will only have each of these abilities for one night or day each, and will only find out he has an ability from the hosts on the night or day it can be used. The abilities and night/day on which each can be used are predetermined but secret, although all three are identical to abilities held by other characters. Mutt may opt not to use any ability, but will thus lose the only opportunity to use that ability.
Grail Knight
The grail knight has been around for hundreds of years, thanks to a fountain of life giving water. Once during the game, the grail knight may use the fountain to resurrect a dead player. Resurrection of a player will not reset any restrictions on the use of abilities.
Harold Oxley
Oxley holds a crystal skull which he can use to mesmerize everyone. Once in the game Oxley may mesmerize all other players, thus rendering all night actions void (but those night actions will still be considered to have been used).
Satipo
Satipo has no special ability. Every night Belloq searches for Satipo. If found by Belloq, Satipo will become the lowest ranking member of the Glory seekers and gain BTSC with the glory seekers. Satipo can never become the don of the glory seekers. The holy grail protects Satipo from conversion to the glory seekers.
Mac
Mac has no special ability. Every night Irina searches for Mac. If found by Irina, Mac will become the lowest ranking member of the Immortality seekers and gain BTSC with the glory seekers. Mac can never become the don of the glory seekers. The holy grail protects Mac from conversion to the immortality seekers.
Interplanetary being
The interplanetary being sees all. Three times in the game, the interplanetary being may during the night ask the hosts who a particular character voted to be lynched on the previous day. The interplanetary being may only ask about one person in any given night, and may only ask about one person of any affiliation in the entire game: Thus, the interplanetary being may once ask who a specified adventurer voted for, once who a specified Glory seeker voted for, and once who a specified Immortality seeker voted for. If the interplanetary being asks about Mac or Satipo after they have been converted to one of the seeker teams, this will still count as having asked about an adventurer.
Kazim
Kazim is a sworn protector of the Holy Grail. Every night he may PM the host to remove someone from the lynch poll the next day. [secret]
Mercenary for Hire
The Mercenary wins if [secret]. Other factions do not know if they need to kill the Mercenary to win or not.
Cairo swordsman
[secret]. If the Cairo Swordsman targets Indy, Indy shoots him and he dies.
Glory Seekers
The Glory Seekers win by eliminating the adventurers and the immortality seekers. Should this be achieved, the glory seekers will be remembered by history as responsible for some of the greatest archaeological finds of all time, including artifacts that made them powerful beyond imagination.
The glory seekers will attempt to kill one person on each odd night.
Rank 1 – Belloq
Belloq is the don of the glory seekers, and has BTSC with all other glory seekers. Every night, Belloq searches for Satipo by PMing the name of one player to the hosts. If he finds Satipo, Satipo will join the glory seekers, unless Satipo holds the benefit of the holy grail, in which case he will appear to be a regular adventurer.
Rank 2 – Major Toht
Toht is hardy. As such, Toht is able to survive the first attempted nightkill on him with only a few permanent scars. Should Belloq die, Toht will become the don of the glory seekers.
Rank 3 – Mola Ram
Mola Ram is incredibly strong. Once in the game, when Mola Ram pm’s the hosts, Mola Ram’s day vote will count for 4 regular votes. Should Belloq and Major Toht die, Mola Ram will become the don of the glory seekers.
Immortality Seekers
The immortality seekers win by eliminating the adventurers and the glory seekers. Should this be achieved, the immortality seekers will have succeeded in uncovering artifacts that will ensure that all of them will live forever.
The immortality seekers will attempt to kill one person on each even night.
Rank 1 – Walter Donovan
Donovan is the don of the immortality seekers. Donovan is always flanked by bodyguards. As such, Donovan is able to survive the first attempted nightkill against him.
Rank 2 – Irina Spalko
Every night, Irina searched for Mac by PMing the name of one player to the hosts. If she finds Mac, Mac will join the immortality seekers, unless Mac holds the benefit of the holy grail, in which case he will appear to be a regular adventurer. Should Donovan die, Irina will become the don of the immortality seekers.
Rank 3 – Elsa Schneider
Elsa is desperate to find the holy grail. Every night, Elsa may ask the hosts whether a particular character has found the holy grail and thus gained its benefit. Elsa may not target the same character on consecutive nights. Should Donovan and Irina die, Elsa will become the don of the immortality seekers.
Naturally, all the seekers from both sides are primarily out for themselves. If either seeker team is down to two, a seeker may switch affiliations to the other seeker team by cutting the throat of their only remaining team member. Their team member will show as having been nightkilled. If both members of a two-person seeker team try to defect on the same night, both will die.
The Holy Grail
At the start of the game, the holy grail will randomly be held by one character. Even the character themselves will not know that they hold the holy grail. Each night, all characters will PM the hosts with the name of the person they suspect holds the holy grail. This could even be yourself! If you are right, you will receive the benefit of the holy grail (but you won't be told you have received it)
The benefit of the holy grail will protect you from your next lynching. If you are lynched while you have the benefit, no one will be lynched on that day. However, you can only have the benefit of the holy grail once, and once it has saved you from a lynch you lose the benefit.
If Mac or Satipo have the benefit of the holy grail, this will not protect them from lynching. Instead, it will permanently protect them from conversion to a seeker team.
Should the person who holds the holy grail die, it will be announced that the holy grail has been lost forever. Even if the character who held the grail is resurrected, the grail itself is lost. However, anyone who has the benefit of the grail when it is lost will continue to hold the benefit until it is used.
