Actually she's pretty good with it.

She is trained to fight monsters so she can carry something that weighs more than she does.
Anime requires girls to carry boobs bigger than are reasonable. Point taken.

Re: Mafia at Other Sites - La Cosa Nostra
So... just found out NF has a second, underground mafia community. Deep inside the OBD (a forum dedicated for "which character is the strongest" discussions)
I had heard about it before, but didn't think it was big. So I went there and they are hosting a 30 player game, full of people I've never seen before.
We are probably the only site to have two mafia communities lol.
Anyway, they are hosting a Deathstalkers game that needs players:

And now that I'm finally into a relative 'downtime' period in the PhD these next few weeks, I might just be able to play that. Let me see how my schedule shakes out over this weekend; remind me via PM if I forget.

What happens when you gather seven of the best hosts on the site and give them free reign on what roles they can submit? You get Clash of the Hosts:

Wow I was planning to do it but you ninja'd me.
Btw, any impressions that the name of the game is ripped off from something else are just that, impressions.

You played that game where you kept switchig back and forth between civ and bad. MP was in it too.
As a matter of fact, the guy who hosted that game (familyparka) is one of the seven hosts here. He is the king of alignment changing roles. The other six are:
Aries, who is an even bigger troll and is famous for making games where the story drives the gameplay.
Soneji, who is famous for making TL;DR roles and introducing global game mechanics to NF
myself, who like to come up with mechanics that have nothig to do with mafia and then put them in a game just to see if I can
Law, famous for hosting a series of One Piece games where dead characters remained dead in the following game.
Psychic, who once hosted a bastard game based on Zen phylosophy.
And owner, who likes making games based on multiple BTSCs and whose roles are so crazy the rest of us had to brainstorm for days to balance.
Really, you cant get a better roster than that.

Give us Wad, Immortal King, Marco when he's inspired, Alwaysmind when he's in tinfoil-mode, and myself when I'm on vacation. Then add pre-PHD MP, Jay, Golden when he thinks he is about to solve the game, Quin in tinfoil-mode, and Sloonei for a good measure. Re: Mafia at Other Sites - La Cosa Nostra
I have requested to sign up to that big old crazy game on that website there but the damn site pulled my gravatar and it's embarrassing. How do I change it?
Come to the Realms! Legion Mafia
I am inviting Syndicate players to try a game on the realms. As a mod, I enjoy trying new mechanics, fiddling with styles and things. Dabbling in the Syndicate has made me interested in running something different as a result.
This is a link for a game on HCRealms based on the FX Series Legion. Its very super-power-y and comic-book-ish, which is really what drew people to the Realms to begin with. I will provide more details in that thread as I concoct the rules, the roles, and so on.
Legion features an alternative 1970s-ish world with mutants, humans, and other classic X-Men elements. The series follows David (a powerful mutant) and an interesting supporting cast. gfishfunk games tend to also bring in roles from other media that relate (tangentially in some way).
HCRealms is actually a site dedicated to to a strategic tabletop board game 'Heroclix', where players control teams of super hero miniatures from DC and Marvel comics. As a result (perhaps) Realms games tend to be very narrative driven and mechanically driven. Though I have definitely enjoyed the mechanics I've seen in the Syndicate, I think the mechanics of Realms games occupies more conversation space within the thread.
http://www.hcrealms.com/forum/showthread.php
If you choose to try it out, go ahead and create an account and post in the sign-up thread. Please identify yourself as a syndicate member.
If there is a better place to pot this, please let me know.

Great! It takes a while for folks at the realms to realize that there is a new sign-up placed, so don't be discouraged with a trickling sign-up.Sloonei wrote:I'm in.gfishfunk wrote:If there is a better place to pot this, please let me know.

I'm in solely based on the theme, which is the best TV show of the year. (So far. Leftovers, Fargo, and TWIN PEAKS are gonna give it stiff competition.)

Re: Mafia at Other Sites - La Cosa Nostra
I'll probably go watch Legion too. I just finished Mad Men last night so it's time for a new show, and I've heard nothing but very good things about this show.

If you hate super hero shtick, still watch just for the visuals and presentation style. Its oggle-worthy for beautifully lines shots, extremely well-linked sequences, and trippy tone.

I really need to take a mafia break after my time in the crossover is complete, but I highly recommend people go play over on HCR. I'd love to do it myself. I'm sure it'll be an absolute blast.

I'm actually including some mechanics that support hard declines on role claiming as an experiment. I think it would be good for the realmsters to hit a claim wall.MovingPictures07 wrote:I really need to take a mafia break after my time in the crossover is complete, but I highly recommend people go play over on HCR. Iirc, the role kills players (lots at once?) but only if it know who they are.

I need a replacement for my game, or two. Likely two.

It's a 30 player, 48/24 hour, role heavy game. It's based on the Ace Attorney videogame series, so it has a game mechanic where you take the players to trial instead of lynching them directly. It's on Day 2 right now.

I signed up for a game at HCRealms while we were down and it still has two open spots left, if anyone wants to help fill it.

As seen here, where I (and my team) won a game by eliminating 4 players in one night, and having one of our own die to a vigilanteJackofhearts2005 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 18, 2017 5:44 pm Iirc, the role kills players (lots at once?) but only if it know who they are.
