Re: Mafia: A World Reborn [FULL GAME]
Corner of death - If one player is on this corner one an even night, that player may perform a nightkill (in addition to any they might already have). If more than one player is on this square on an even night, one of these players will randomly die instead.

Will all of these squares be known?
I PMed my idea to TH. It's a secret.
Also, I particularly must have the fortuneteller's den. It is mandatory.

I hadn't planned to reveal any of the squares before the game starts. I'm going back and forth about allowing free discussion of the map in-thread. What do you think?

Never mind, I see now - I missed this post at first!G-Man wrote:The Minstrel's Corner: Any time two or more players occupy this space, dead players may compete for a resurrection prize. Each dead player wishing to compete must re-write the lyrics to a popular song so that the song is now a resurrection request. The host or a panel of non-participating forum users will decide which re-written lyrics are the best and the player submitting them shall be resurrected.
The Portraitist's Gallery: Any player occupying this space must spend the duration of their stay communicate in the thread using only pictures.
The Fortuneteller's Den: Any player occupying this space must spend the duration of their stay communicating with the thread via the responses of a standard Magic 8 Ball.
The Jester's Stage: Anyone occupying this space may submit three names to the Mad Jester, who will select one of them to be forced to colorize their posts for a full day.
The Potionmaster's Cove: Any player occupying this space must spend the duration of their stay praising the alluring and masculine scents in the Old Spice line of products.

Re: Mafia: A World Reborn [FULL GAME]
I like the idea of free discussion, although it seems very weighted in favour of any faction which can't be advantaged by lying. I think you might need some mitigation if that was to be allowed - eg, not actually knowing what square you are in for certain (by having possible redirects? I don't know how you normally select your square in map games) or not being allowed to talk about the specific square you are in, but only about the functions of the squares.Long Con wrote:I hadn't planned to reveal any of the squares before the game starts. Re: Mafia: A World Reborn [FULL GAME]
That's a tough one. There aren't really any balance advantages of allowing map talk in the thread, but it's also a difficult thing to restrict since it's such a big part of gameplay and there will be BTSC in the squares. I think the right move is to not allow discussion of it, but that might also make the game less exciting.Long Con wrote:I hadn't planned to reveal any of the squares before the game starts. Will we still get pictures for the roles? That's always one of my favorite parts of an LC game, the characters are always so iconic I see even John Locke is making an appearance!Long Con wrote:Ok, I have the Roles list filled out in a basic way. I'll probably edit in some pics and a short descriptive sentence for each one, but the bare bones are there for your enjoyment.
Is this a game that sounds fun? I hope so, I think each role has some decent fun opportunities.

Marmot Square - dig a hole underneath this square to hide out. In this square you must vote for yourself, but all nightkills against you will fail.

I like the idea of allowing some map discussion, but no coordinates discussion.

Re: Mafia: A World Reborn [FULL GAME]
Can I play and create my own role where I'm a cartoon hedgehog that runs really fast and saves woodland creatures from an evil cyborg fat man?
Re: Mafia: A World Reborn [FULL GAME]
You should definitely play. I don't know about the hedgehog though....MacDougall wrote:Can I play and create my own role where I'm a cartoon hedgehog that runs really fast and saves woodland creatures from an evil cyborg fat man?
