To be honest I think seanzie just voting immediately doesn't mean much but I won't forget about it
Mac, do you sign up for games without reading the setup? Or am I weird for reading the setup

Volume cleared? His first 10-15 posts were one letter each
You didn't say why you voted for Wilgy. Lulz?
Plz yes.
@pyxxy I love mechanical discussion, and no one seems to want to do it anymore, I haz a sad. I especially love it in a game like this with unusual variables. Knowing what hypothetical zany shenanigans can happen before they happen to you is a good thing.

Re: Holes Mafia {Day 1}
There could be a good reason and a bad reason for voting out the gate as Sean did, or no reason, maybe he just really likes that square. Marmot didn't even dig, which I didn't notice till pointed out, which makes me feel better about him than his vote itself did. Baddies had Night Zero to plot, I would think, since the host said there WAS a Night Zero, and the thread wasn't open. They got some info (although it isn't clear how much or exactly what " *Scotty said* At the top of D1 I will provide the Mafia with 12 random plots- one of which will have the Yellow Spotted Lizard" means in terms of info, like did they find out what is/isn't in those squares? etc.).
So the woofs prolly have the mechanics hashed out, and are well aware that they have to vote with their dig location. So Seans vote MIGHT mean something, or it might not. But Marmots, not so much, unless he's intentionally trying to look uninformed.

Sure. And there may be a reason you don't want to say, and that's cool too. It's Day One and very little has happened. I am probably going to pick my hole based on counting out a number or numbers I like. That's how I pick out super bowl boxes lol.

It's mostly a silly read that I don't believe in very much.
At least that part of it. I do think that Sean snapvoting to start the day while non-optimal is slightly townie.
Why would I do the same thing as Sean even if it's not optimal? It's been a long time since I've played a game with locked votes on Day 1, and if you remember, I used to be "that person" who would snapvote on Day 1, and I kinda wanted to do it again for old time's sake.

I know you asked Mac, but I never read the set up first. I have literally been eliminated before for not knowing my own town win condition.
I don’t mind mech discussion, and it’s not my forte, so I won’t participate much. I only don’t like mech discussion when it’s ALL someone will talk about as it seems like they are trying to be involved without actually

Ture, although I don't have to dig today.
I probably should have waited though, pyxxxy made a good point that digging early is pro-town in order to give the powers to the townies.

Some people (I'll put Mac in this game) sign up for every or almost every game regardless of the setup, and don't feel the need to read the setup until the game starts.
I tend to do the same.

Re: Holes Mafia {Day 1}
I really do think that everyone who has posted at least a few times thus far is town.
Nobody has bothered to push Sean or myself for making a not-optimal play to start the game, or if they are it's doing so inquisitively, and not a heavy-handed push. Given there's very little else to talk about thus far (aside from mech), I do think a wolf would take the opportunity to push it.
I know Dennis is pressing me about it, but I think the manner with which he's doing it strikes me as townie.
Sean, SVS, pyxxxy, and fingersplints also fall into that camp of players I think are town for their opening.

OK, that made me laugh. And yeah, as I do recall you were famed for the snapvotes, but wasn't it votes on yourself?
I always read set ups, since i'm fairly fussy on what I want to play. I won't play a game with role/info dumps. It sucks to have a good baddie game ruined by something beyond your control, and as a civ, half the fun of mafia is solving the mystery. In real life, it's great when a cop runs into the squad room, waving a videotape of the crime, but in games, not so much. At least not for me.

What makes the way I'm pushing it different from how a wolf would push it?
Do you think this game being lighthearted so far affected the way you read everyone, with them just joking around and all?
Overall, another BANGER post 9.2/10

I think in general joking around is NAI, although the amount of and the style of the fluff can be AI depending on the player.Dennis wrote: ↑Sat Jan 14, 2023 1:20 pmOkay I like this, not sure if I agree that pushing it is wolfy exactly but I can understand it from your perspectiveMarmot wrote: ↑Sat Jan 14, 2023 1:15 pm I really do think that everyone who has posted at least a few times thus far is town.

Overall, another BANGER post 9.2/10
What do you make of this game thus far? Do you have any strong reads?

The answer: all of them, if you are a marmot.

S~V~S wrote: ↑Sat Jan 14, 2023 1:18 pmOK, that made me laugh.
I have evolved to at least make a slightly nonoptimal play (snapvoting someone else) instead of an extremely nonoptimal play (snapvoting myself).
I do think in general that's a good idea, reading setup before the game begins. I'm sure the host appreciates it too, especially if you catch something in the setup that's unbalanced that they missed. I signed up for this game because of the theme, so I didn't bother reading the setup tbh. Holes was one of my favorite movies as a kid, and one of the few movies I actually think was better than the book.

No strong reads in either way as of now. You're my strongest read, and that's town so woohoo!!
I think the game has been slow, but I know there's some overlap with games right now so it's not really indicative of anything right now

Re: Holes Mafia {Day 1}
As I mentioned before, I think it would be slightly w!indicative for someone to push me or Sean for doing something off the wall.
Given this game is quiet thus far, I think the wolves are either not saying much (and taking advantage of the quiet start), or if they were posting regularly, I think they'd want to apply some amount of pressure to someone.
I think the pressure you applied looked like someone trying to formulate a read, and not someone trying to push a little shade.

Re: Holes Mafia {Day 1}
Of the group of townreads I mentioned, the two that I think I could be wrong on are:
Sean: yeah he did the same thing as I did, but I do think it's in Sean's wolf range to do that.
pyxxxy: all of her discussion has been mech-related thus far, and wolves hiding behind mech discussion as their primary content early on isn't uncommon.

I agree with this. It makes me think Marmot isn't playing to objective. I feel that at least to scum it would be very important to not wiff digs.S~V~S wrote: ↑Sat Jan 14, 2023 10:17 amThere could be a good reason and a bad reason for voting out the gate as Sean did, or no reason, maybe he just really likes that square.

Yo, that's exactly why I made sure that plot was empty.Seanzie wrote: ↑Sat Jan 14, 2023 10:57 amI voted D2 because of R2D2S~V~S wrote: ↑Sat Jan 14, 2023 10:17 amThere could be a good reason and a bad reason for voting out the gate as Sean did, or no reason, maybe he just really likes that square. Re: Holes Mafia {Day 1}
Marmot is saying a lot of wifom and the flaw of his logic is if one of him or Sean is wolf or would not be optimal to push on either of them

Re: Holes Mafia {Day 1}
I wrote this while walking so this doesn't make sense
Basically if on eof them is wolf, wolves won't push on either of them because it would not be optimal because the dynamic between marmot/seanzie can't be flipped

Aye, I think it's weird that Sean knew to dig but didn't know that votes were locked.
Like, how much of a slip is it to try to swing for the early power roles?
