I didn't read DH as specifically targeting you with that statement. You seem to me to be jumping to the defensive pretty quickly... especially since I didn't find your vote for MM particularly humourous or... antical?

Anyways, that made you my best choice for a Day One vote. *votes reywaS*
Actually, your reaction seems more fishy than his. I find that baddies like to vote early on, so they don't seem like bandwagoning. They find a small thing they can latch on to, and use it as a reason to vote. Granted, there are no really good reasons to vote on the first day, but I don't think I like the way you just jumped on him like that.

I think all the early votes today are weird. On Day One, more than any other day, we need as much time as possible to pick up on subtle pings.

I think the people voting for the people who voted for no reason have less reason to their vote than the people they are voting for.

It was directed at both yourself and Metalmarsh. Both of you pulled early votes, with identical reasoning (even if your reasoning had slightly more merit than Metalmarsh, since I assume you voted for him not for "no reason" but rather because of his vote.)

He voted quite early and gave a terrible reason for doing so. You voted quite early and parroted his reason, I'm guessing as a joke. I found that situation funny.

I wouldn't go so far as to say either vote was a legitimate attempt at playing the game, though. If that were either of your intentions, you probably would have waited a bit to throw down a vote.

Wut? I know | missed a lot of games, butt this would often get Llama, myself, Vmops, Matt lynched in the early stages of the game k. :sigh:

I speak from personal experience when I say this:

Trust me, "humorous antics" has nothing to do with why that grouping of players is lynched frequently. At least not in games I've been a part of.

That is assuming I want to lynch SVS.

Logically speaking, you ate correct. I had zero reason for my vote, meaning that Sawyer's vote has a value of say -1, and LC is somewhere between that and negative infinity.

Every time someone uses maths to make it "seem" like what they are saying is fact it makes me want to vote for them. idk why.

DH's post was a continuation of the "straightforward mafia tactics" talk that you speak of, the way I read it. If you had never responded the way you did, I don't think anyone would have said "Weird that rey didn't respond to DH's allegations". But you got up in arms immediately about it, and I thought that was unnecessary.

If I got up in arms about it, LC, I would be badgering DH about the comment instead of just making the 1 post. If my up in arms-ness was just in a single post, I would think that single post would be a good deal longer than what it was. Up in arms, to me, indicates making a federal case out of it. Not almost immediately moving off of it.

I just read your post again. Maybe something is lost/gained in translation because it's pure text, but I think the situation called for, at most, a "Was that at me, DH?"

You put a string of three increasingly defensive questions in one paragraph.

Don't you think it reads pretty defensively?

Linkitis: That's fine, rey. I am not planning on getting up in arms about this, it's a Day One vote, not a lynch train. Also, watch those shrugs. I got accused last game of too many shrugs, and that was a non-committal baddie tactic. ;)

I think that is his point, yeah. I don't have BTSC with Rey or with anyone else

"make a federal case" out of something is a common idiom in American English. I do not think two people using it is suspicious.

I don't want to live in that universe.

IDK if DH meant to imply it per say, but I think he was hoping someone would.

And since I'm gonna say what I mean, I'll just come out and say it. I think DH didn't want to be accused of implying anything so he laid the "this is just too funky" breadcrumb hoping someone would pick it up and run.

FWIW, I don't think "making a federal case out of something" is that uncommon of a phrase. Heck MY parents said it a lot. (Usually when we were whining about something being unfair.)

I've never heard that, in or out of mafia, so two uses of the phrase pinged me a bit. My first instinct was possibly teammates, yeah. Admittedly though, seems I'm out of the loop on the lingo front so w/e.

Nothing I was gonna put a vote behind anyway

I'm not familiar with it. It's a term I've not seen in a mafia game I've played yet and now it appears written by two people.

But I neither believe or disbeleive the notion. I merely observe

Do you have Federal Courts in Wales? A Federal Case would be a bigger deal than a local case. Not sure why, maybe the feds have stiffer penalties? Its a common phrase where I grew up.

Three times in a game? Now I'm really suspicious... :eye:
But yeah, I've heard it before as well. A bit archaic, but I've heard it.

No. But I watch a lot of American TV. Whatever, never seen it in a mafia game before.
