I would say meta is "fine" as a tool, and it's especially necessary in a game where face value judgments are hard to come by (for lack of content). It's flawed and only as useful as its wielder's Mafia memory is accurate.

I have no clue about this game. My reads do come from my brain, but they feel barely better than arbitrary. I am not even close to finding comfortable footing or knowing what I am doing in this thread. While that is attributable to some degree to the state of the thread itself, I am probably also tired, old, and out of practice.
