MP, welcome to the club.

FWIW, I'm more suspicious of BR than you. The moment she posted that post, I thought about RR and thought 'what exactly does BR expect MPs reaction to this to be'... I didn't expect anything different from you, actually.
No worries, man, I don't feel you've derailed anything at all, and I'm SUPER glad to be playing another game with you. I mean it.

You know, that's a good point, but I don't know how I feel about BR. I thought her question was fine, but maybe I wasn't thinking about it the right way, because I am specifically trying to discipline myself in early stages of games anymore so as not to railroad people early on in games, and I really didn't mind being asked. The problem I have with it is that, if someone were to use it for a basis for a suspicion, it's such a logical fallacy because it's a loaded question. Regardless of my answer to BR's question, either BR or anyone else could use my situation to justify a vote for me, and that's what really frustrated me when I came back into the thread and saw that the seeds were being planted -- now whether they were planted by a baddie hoping to use me for an easy target or a civilian wanting a genuine answer out of me. I honestly have no idea.

I'm having such a problem reestablishing my playstyle when it comes to suspicions because I'm usually wrong, and yet it seems I don't do any better when I specifically try to restrain myself.

OK, so I hadn't yet had time to get myself really into the feel of this game, and I'm not going to let how I've reacted thus far to get in the way of a perfectly good opportunity to procrastinate PhD work.

I'm going to go back and try to more thoroughly read the major events that have transpired and see if I can actually gather some thoughts on them. As I was swiftly reading to catch up last night, nothing struck me.

I just dropped by UTSA today, think I might have seen President Romo at the JPL.

I don't find MP suspicious for his earlier comments, nor do I think BR was suspicious for bringing it up. It was something worth mentioning, but not so very much to convince me MP is sinister.

I know he would, and I know how ironic this is of me, but seriously, this is insane. I said I didn't mind answering BR's question, because I didn't, but if people actually want to vote for me on Day 1 because I posted 6 minutes later, construing it as "OMG BTSC LOL" and yet offered an absolutely sensible explanation for my posts, then I will respond to that absurdity with some of my own.
MP-- I asked you to reconcile two opposing thoughts you posted and instead of doing that you flew off the handle and screamed that it wasn't fair you were being suspected.

I got up late this morning and have been reading this thread almost the whole time. 24 hour posting! This is gonna be hard though maybe not as hard as Death Note.

I thought I'd just chime in and say a few things. First, and I have already said this, even though the MP think pinged me when it happened, to me it is too easily could be exactly what MP says it is so I don't intend to vote for MP for that. I do wish he had not voted himself but it does fit with the way he behaves when he is suspected early in games.

TH, I don't quite see why anyone is suspicious of him. If anyone wants to run it by me again feel free.

BR, I don't suspect her for bringing up the MP statements. I saw them the same way at the beginning and I'm bad at picking up on stuff.

Bullz - maybe it's because I was here when there was the site-wide brouhaha about infodumping and saw a lot of opinions like his, I don't find him suspicious. BF I guess you suspect him of defending himself or a teamate but the river runs deep on this whole infodumping thing. Games were ruined, people were outted, didn't matter that they were baddies. We never had this issue on RM, I'm not sure why but it could be there are a lot more new players here. So i have to give Bullz the benefit of the doubt on this.

BF, not suspicious of him either. He got an item, he says he thought through the danger to himself, llama said we could talk about the item so he told us about it. The fact that it might be a civ didn't occur to him at the time but he has since recognized there are several different people it could be. I just can't believe he is bad and was guiding us to the millionaire who is also bad.

Golden, I had never seen or noticed the BF-Golden thing before which is why I asked the question. Still, I do not see Golden glomming on to BF, just defending him a bit which doesn't bother me because I don't see BF as bad at this point.

Epi - seems like normal Epi to me so far.

Who did I leave out?

So I feel like there has been a lot of going in circles with some of these issues (infodumping being the prime one) but I don't think I see anyone yet who is suspicious. Someone could become suspicious after this post but that's the way I'm feeling right now.

Juliets. I was suspicious of BF before the info thing. Personally I doubt he knows the ID of the millionaire unless it is his teammate. I think maybe he's trying to bait the item stealers, one of whom is a civ and one an Indy.

I thought he was suspish before any of that. The excessive buddying plus the refusal to mention just who had pinged him until day started even though there were no night powers in play.

His whole general presentation has felt bad to me pretty much from the get go.

I have to reread what MP said when not on phone. His outrage and indignation at being suspected is becoming kinds passe, he does it every game it seems to me, good or bad.

I will go back and take a look at him pre-item because I did not consider that before. There's been so much stuff since the item I've just ignored prior goings on. I don't remember a lot about bad bf, in fact I don't remember anything about him from prior games.

S~V~S should have asked you this in my last post but about the excessive buddying up, both bf and Golden see to indicate that is normal for them in games. Have you noticed that its not, or do you think they arent telling the truth, or what keeps you from believing its normal behavior? Also, what does he have to gain buddying up with Golden?

I thought it was excessive initially, and BFs reactions to suspicion have led me to believe it was calculated. I am not sure what to make of Golden's opinion. He has been under some pretty intense scrutiny, and I need to retrad last night more carefully. But he has said a few waffly things re BF. So

And JC, what does any baddie have to gain by buddying up? I am fairly sure I have seen you suspect people for similar things. Buddying up to someone you know well may make them lower their defenses a bit and make them less likely to be suspicious.

SVS, why does my waiting to mention my suspicions alarm you? I was waiting very patiently for specific people to chime in. And as you suspect, I was trying to bait someone, but it wasn't the item stealers, it was the millionaire's teammates to start disagreeing with the idea and to express doubt/worry. And I believe I was successful. You can disagree but my intentions were not vile. And I would be foolish to draw unnecessary attention to myself as a baddie.

But I'm not going to be srs-beans from the very first post - this is supposed to be fun, and to expect me to be a robot is unrealistic.

IMO, Juliets is right, I have nothing to gain from "buddying up" to Golden - good or bad. I still disagree I was buddying up, but whatever.

This is how I've been reading MP as well. It's like no one's allowed to question anything anymore. I asked MP to reconcile two opposing statements and he exploded. Honestly, that's getting old.

TBH I'm not sure how I'm feeling about Blindfaeth. Half of me thinks he's bad, and the other half wants to give him the BTOD.
Bullz, I'm feeling good about right now.

You know, the way certain other players are acting every game is getting passe too but I never say that to them. I'm insulted, frankly.

Regardless of others opinions, I still don't think it was a bad idea, I don't regret mentioning it. When multiple people oppose ideas I set forth, I get the hunch I'm onto something. All it takes is a couple mafia throwing in some doubt and letting the rest of the players ride the wave. So that is why I believe I am still likely to be correct if I had to guess. Does that explain better?

I never said no one's allowed to question anything. I was fine with the questioning. But the suspicion that I "have BTSC" and the explanation for that is SO ABSURD. UGH, whatever.

I'm gone. See you folks in a LONG time.

This is so stupid. I'm the only person on this site that's not allowed to be upset for something and then it's OK to insult me in thread. If I explode, it's passe. But if Dom blows up on me and goes after me ridiculously game after game, it's not?

Bullshit.

This is getting personal and I don't like it.

I don't either. I thought I only brought up a little suspicion and now it's become a thing. Not where I wanted that to go.

I don't think you did anything wrong BR. I took what you presented as a minor day 1 suspicion. Not sure how everything got so intense.

It really did. It was just a minor suspicion taken from two posts, nothing I felt would even go anywhere.

:haha: BR that was quite funny.

MP, I need you to stay and be my thread-derailing buddy! We should team up. In all seriosuness though, if you need a break I think its ok to take it - go smash some peeps in smashfest.

By the way, for what its worth, if its getting old that MP does the same thing every game, then I think 'thats just MP'!

MY READ ON MP

He reacted to everything completely reasonably... until people started using words like 'impressive' to describe BR's case. Now, I'm not knocking people who used words like that. I don't think they were intended to have the effect they did. But I do understand why it looked to MP like a case that even BR admits was a minor ping snowballed into something far beyond how valuable it was. And I can understand MP's reaction in light of that - especially since he had already flagged in the last game that he felt like he was constantly being called out every game for things that were so small they were ridiculous.

Doesn't mean MP is good or bad - frankly, as I already said in response to bullz earlier in the game, being a major suspect on day one for what feels like no good reason ALWAYS feels unfair and sucky.

MP it was just a word. No personal content. I am sorry if I offended you, it was not intentional.
