Re: STAR WARS Mafia [Night 6]
Also, I know this thread has been unpleasant off and on all game, and there have been consistent misunderstandings, but I just wanted to say the following (this is partially off-topic, so feel free to skip it):
First, I incredibly appreciate this super fun game that Epi and DH have put together and are hosting for us. I really think it's an awesome setup, I've loved seeing all these different planet-specific events play out, and DH's host posts have been epic. I missed DH's writing.
Second, although I previously expressed sentiments the past cycle, as well as throughout the game off and on, of frustration against low posters, I just want to say that I don't think that posting more = more civilian, or anything like that. I also do not think that anyone playing this game has a playstyle any or hunting skills any less capable than my own or anyone else. If anything, I've proven to myself and others consistently over the past 5 years of playing mafia that I am terrible at this game, and my playstyle is horribly inefficient. It's why I'm digging these analytical methods (such as GTHs and ISOs), as well as rainbow lists, in order to help me better analyze and process information. I realize that not everyone enjoys these methods, and I think that if you do not see the benefit in them or do not wish to employ them, that's your decision, and that's totally fine. They work for me, and I've seen them work wonders in games on RYM, and even in recent games here (most particularly, the amazing town play in the RYM crossover Talking Heads game that Sloonei and I hosted). I believe in their usage. If you don't, that's fine; or if you don't understand what they're intended to do, then don't feel embarrassed about it, I've only this year been really exposed to them myself. I guess I'm just trying to say that I love that everyone brings their own style to this game, and I would never try to insinuate that I think anyone else's is any worse or better than anyone else's. I just want to be able to engage everyone in this game so that I can determine who is bad or good, and I can't do that if I don't get to read enough from everyone on the topic of the game.
Third, I just want to say that the reason I devote so much time to playing mafia is because you all are incredibly important to me, and many of you are my closest friends. I don't have much of a social life, especially given I've been devoting a lot of my life to academia and qualifications the past few years and it leaves me little time to develop a social life. So the community that has sprouted here at The Syndicate as an initial result of my combining the LP-based mafia communities with ProgArchives has since then developed into something that I am very proud of, and that I think we all should be proud of. We have a really, really great group of people here, and we've added so many great members this year (it's crazy to think about how many joined us in 2015), and I couldn't be happier to be playing this game with all of you.
Now, back to studying.

Re: STAR WARS Mafia [Night 6]
Episode XIII: The Dagobah, The Cow Go Moo
With Cloud City and its resources lost to the Empire, the Rebel Alliance was ironically short on allies. To rectify this, Mon Mothma and the other leaders decided that their best move would be to travel to the distant planet of Dagobah, the rumored home of a powerful Jedi Master. Finally this cut of the films was diving into the Jedi and their role in the rebellion, although in an unexpected fashion. After establishing a defensive blockade around the planet’s orbit, Mon Mothma led a group of rebels down to the surface so that they might meet this legendary Jedi and essentially beg for his assistance.
The Dagobah set was impressively built and looked better than the original trilogy’s depiction of the jungle planet. As the rebels trudged their way through the murky swamp, the audience collectively could feel a sense of actually being a part of their expedition. It was truly beautiful and oddly immersive. But the best part of the Dagobah sequence was the Jedi Master himself, Yoda.
This version of the original films saw the use of a practical puppet in order to portray Yoda. Because CGI is terrible. Strangely enough, this practical puppet Yoda was modern in design and looked much better than his predecessor. Had it not been a movie, everyone would have sworn that it was no puppet at all, but an actual alien. Yoda chuckled to himself as he greeted his visitors, stepping out from the fog of the swamp and into the light that shone through the canopy above.
“Happy to see you I am, yes. Expecting you I was.” Yoda humbled himself, bowing his head and beckoning the rebels further into the swamp, where the entrance to his home was.
“Hmph. Troubling this news of the Empire is.” He continued, seemingly responding to the very thoughts of the people around him. The rebel’s simply followed him into his home, awestruck in the presence of such a powerful creature.
“Fear not, you must. For fear leads to anger, yes? And anger to the Dark Side. Hmph. Help you I will. Show you the ways of the Force, I can. ”
Once inside his home, Yoda took his place at the center of a small room that must have been used for meditation, judging by its layout and the several dozen candles in various states. Ever silent, Mon Mothma instructed her soldiers to sit in a circle around Yoda as he spoke.
“Powerful the Empire has become. Lost the war is not, Hehe… Here you will stay for now, yes? Learn much you will. Safe, you will be. Yes, hmph.”
No One has been killed
It is now Day 7, the First Day on Dagobah
You have 48 Hours to Lynch someone.

Hutt- I doubt it based on Golden vs Mac

I've been reading Dom as bad for some time and it's getting worse. MP, while I appreciate his recent off-topic contributions, I have to be honest in saying that I feel he's been dodging scumhunting lately. I understand he's busy but I find it unnerving that he has enough time to catch up every time he checks in, but lately never enough time to make any contributions to catching scum. He's been more active with on-topic effort in Tree Mafia, actually. I could let this go if his more recent posts were convincingly told, but aside from the off-topic content, they don't read genuine to me.

Not good.a2thezebra wrote:Dom and Sorsha, what are your current thoughts on MP?
I felt like he pulled a NO U on me and has made minimal effort to have his own thoughts while accusing me of doing the same. I think his claim that my suspicions have been "all over the place" is unsubstantiated-- he has yet to really back this up. I am very okay with a MP lynch because as SOON as I entertained the thought of him being bad, I dropped down to dark red on his rainbow list. He claims I'm not baddie hunting, but I don't think that's true. I voted early in both Matt and Enrique's lynches. I was busy on the day of bcornett's and I think i missed the vote. I was suspicious of Bass (and was wrong)-- same with Simon. Yesterday, I felt like it might be best to get rid of one of Golden or Mac because of how the thread was "behaving" and which one I thought was more bad is who i voted for. I think MP's claim is bogus and it's a way to silence his critics.
Additionally, who has MP really suspected all game?
I understand I had a rough few days in the thread where I was very frustrated with some of the goings-ons, but my frustration was real, A2Z.

I understand. While I share MP's suspicion of you, I do think his suspicion is less justified and/or more fabricated. And the part I colored red is my main issue. I can't remember MP really going after anyone all game. Question people sure, but not actually hunt scum.Dom wrote:Not good.a2thezebra wrote:Dom and Sorsha, what are your current thoughts on MP?

Re: STAR WARS Mafia [Day 7]
Dom, you haven't really made a strong case against me either. You've said I was suspicious. That I was worse than Golden. That I drain the energy of the game. But nothing alignment indicative enough for you to be calling me suspicious again now that the 1 v 1 that you must have agreed with to actually get your vote on me, is a thing of the past. And you also told Golden you weren't sold by his case about 10 minutes before voting for me after he gave you the cliffs, yet then backed up the vote not saying he convinced you, but saying more or less that you thought I was more likely to be bad than him.Dom wrote:Not good.a2thezebra wrote:Dom and Sorsha, what are your current thoughts on MP?
Can you see why that sort of thing would be considered a scummy look in the minds of people? I don't think it's a lock or entirely alignment indicative but if I had to explain why it could be a bad look it looks like a scum player who hasn't put the work in to make a really convincing fake case just throwing vague shade on someone who is producing enough controversial content to maybe get jag lynched by it. It's the scum who can't be bothered look.
Your scum read of me;
I've been "cryptic"
I've been draining
You tried to put shade on me briefly over the Roxy thing, which looked like a real weak attempt to shade me again
Better me than Golden
It's not very convincing. Has a real look of scum having a scum read on someone because you gotta have a scum read on someone ya know?
At least tell me you can see how it could be taken that way?
