Cricket

I'm sure I'm just about the only one who is going to post in this thread.

But what about that demolishing the Black Caps made of the Aussies yesterday... so good. I've been waiting all 32 years of my life for a New Zealand cricket team this good.

If I'd only understand how the game is played and scored...

Besides, we really have no culture for it whatsoever. It's nowhere to be seen on TV. Even american handegg, by comparison, gets a few reruns.

It's ok, this can be my personal thread to vent about how happy I am.

Because New Zealand winning cricket games is about the best thing in the world for my mental health.

I love cricket. I learned about it from reading old PG Wodehouse novels, and became obsessed with figuring out the rules, which I did. I watched it for a while, but the games are so long I really don't have the time to follow it. It's also hard to find it televised or streaming here in the states. Wish I could see more of it though. It's really the only sport I enjoy watching.

I don't want to live in that universe.

It is not too hard to potter away to live text feeds on Cricinfo. You have to be able to visualise it in your head, but it doesn't require you to watch it at all times.

It's very hard to find a place to stream it, but if you can, it will be something like Star Sports out of India.

When you come to NZ, I'll take you to a game.

I'd love that! No idea when I can make it to that hemisphere, though. :)

There is a modified format that is only about as long as an average NFL game called Twenty Twenty or T20 for those complaining about it's length.
