I should jet off too. That was loads of fun though! I will look forward to catching up and reading more when I get home. That was a nice diversion after our heavy civilian casualties. Thanks!

I liked it. I had a couple I wasn't sure of and will re-ISO but not nearly as many as I thought. I think chaindeath and Nerolunar were the only two that really gave me pause.

lalala I've been busy, and will continue to be busy until tomorrow when I have a long bus ride to Wyoming. Then I'll be posting more.

Pretty much caught up to the point where 509 just suggested GTH reads. And shit we lost a bunch of people.

I think a lot of people still want to lynch a lot of people, and that's understandable.

I do think the current game circumstance demands total reassessment though, by everyone. I'm not saying the prior baddie reads are wrong, but I wouldn't feel comfortable just walking my vote over to another suspect we've been fielding for days without really examining it.
I'm always welcome to different cases on people, and having outside eyes on the game I think has been beneficial. In the back of my mind, though, is the feeling that I'm so dead set on specific people to influence how I feel about another person that I'm feeling lost in the game on reads of others. I feel like that is what silver was lamenting, in that people have been restarting every day with different names and reads, and it hasn't got us anywhere.

I'd like to do GTH reads later, if that's ok.

Okay, here's a chart of the results from the GTH exercise:
Spoiler: show
Image
Some of my immediate thoughts:

~ I have performed this exercise a decent number of times now, and one thing I have found is that the players who give the most town reads have been more likely to flip mafia than other participants. In this exercise, that would reflect poorly on Quin. It isn't a sure thing, and the sample size is still limited, but this has been the trend I have observed. Quins baddie reads were: Black Rock, ika, Serge, and Nerolunar. While I can on some level understand why someone might feel this way about these players, it strikes me as a bit uninspired for those to be the only four names that Quin's gut was willing to spit out "mafia" for.

~ There always seems to be at least one person who is incredibly paranoid. In this case that looks like it would be Serge (I was also more paranoid than usual and need to reassess some of those M's clearly). This has been a mixed bag in this exercise. I've seen baddies do this to limit their connectivity to their team mates (by obscuring everything under a blanket of baddie reads). I've also seen townies who are just legitimately paranoid. In Serge's case though, I do note that he piled on the baddie reads early in the exercise (8 of the first 9, 9 of the first 11), and after that he leveled off with town reads. This might suggest that he realized his reads ratio had gotten ridiculous, and he had to balance the equation for it to make any sense -- which would be a sign of insincerity.

what about the people who have the medium of 5?

does that say anythig overall? from this IMO we should look at where we all have the largest agreemnet (if not univeral) and jsut go from there. i saw quite a lot of all towns. and only a handfull of one or two people calling someone town in the major scum reads

Or, your grouping produced my reads. I'm not saying your grouping isn't planned. Is it?

GTH
- Town that I'm confident with are only Sloonei and SVS
- Other townies I have no previous recollection that they came across as scum
- Most of the scum I have no reads on, or are inactive
- I round off everything else as scum

Also isn't it obvious that my GTH reads as scum to town when all is said done? If I realized that, wouldn't I have at least easily put one name in the last group as scum?

I have no clue how GTHs work. If you ensnared me, then cool beans.

At the risk of getting too arbitrary with the numbers, I wouldn't quite call 5 mafia reads "medium". It's slightly on the trusting side, whereas S~V~S and I were slightly on the paranoid side. soneji was right in the middle. This might sound strange because we know there should be five baddies remaining, but that should have no bearing on someone delivering honest GTH reads. In fact, it's not uncommon for baddies to intentionally hold themselves to the proper ratio in the game for the sake of appearance.

I wouldn't recommend narrowing our collective focus on any group. There are enough players and enough hours in two Earth days to give everyone the proper attention. I am particularly interested in the BR and TH results, for example, at 6-2, and the 4-4 deadlock on chaindeath. There's also every possibility that one of those glowing beacons of 8-0/7-0 town reads is a masterbaddie. Everything warrants investigation and discussion.
