Lol I ask because I know the game was set up for you, so I'm finding it hard to even care about reading you. Like, even if I thought you were bad, I'd probably hold it inside cuz ummm yeah. Awkward.

Oh, I see.

So most of the new names I see here are also playing Champs?

Does this mean Dys is a champ? And Zex? :faint:

I mean, if you started tunneling me you'd only be adding your voice to zebra as two people who have not ever demonstrated a propensity to see my scum game, and are wrong this game, but will tunnel me anyway.

I guess I have to be ready to be tunnelled by people who don't know anything about my play style.

I was asking people to let me get practice in in the sign up thread, but already this game has given me a heck of a lot of practice. No pulling punches now.

I didn't dare you to lynch him, I dared you to vote for him. The reason I did that was because I didn't know that you were one of the ones currently voting for MM at the time before, and so my plan was that when you voted DrWilgy giving him three votes, I would switch my vote to MM giving him three votes as well, making the two leading wagons between Wilgy and MM. Hence me referring to myself as an idiot when I realized that my plan wasn't going to work when MM suddenly had only one vote when you switched.

This is not true. I've made it clear that you have no history of being able to read me and that when you've tunnelled on me in the past you've been wrong. And you are again.

Plenty of people have suspected me in this game but they've made an effort to listen to my responses and think about them. You haven't indicated any desire to do so. You just use semantic argument against me and are determined to see everything I say as more proof in your favour. I'm not the one here who is so utterly convinced of my position on someone that they can't keep things in perspective.

If you want to be pissed at me, then whatever. All I want is for people who have a propensity to tunnel me to learn. They never seem to. You, Mac, Matt... you don't tunnel me when I'm scum. You only do it when I'm town. But you never seem to learn... you just see the same things as suspicious over and over.

Your original suspicion on me appeared rooted in the fact my playstyle was different. I've tried to give the best explanation I can as to exactly what my playstyle intent is this game and why. If you don't think that is worth an actual subject-based response despite the fact it was the first root of your suspicion, then I'd have to say you aren't interested in suspecting me for game reasons at this point, but you just feel so committed to your read that you aren't willing to have rational discussion about the merits of it.

Golden, I was more than willing to have a rational discussion. I tried to with you, but YOU weren't having it. You never used reason in your responses, only condescension and malice. I'm not pissed at you, I just think that you are being too selfish in this game for me to interact with you further regarding my read of you. You have made it clear that you have no interest in this game of understanding other players' perspectives (or even consider the possibility that their "tunneling" of you is to provide more content to gain a more confident read of you and perhaps others) unless it benefits you, and I don't have time for that. It would just be a thorn in my side to entertain it further. I find it fitting that you compared my interaction with you to your earlier interaction with Silver since you weren't giving her the time of day either, all the while blaming her for your failure to communicate.

What did you think of my Soneji ISO earlier?
I could, eventually. But I still feel I want to hear more from most of them (since they are all/most pretty quiet). It still feels unsolved to me in a way, if that makes sense. But IAWY is my prefered lynch, and my strongest suspicion.

I was so tired when I read the Soneji-ISO I don't really remember. Sorry. I do appreciate you putting in the work, and I will surely get back to it. Apart from that I've looked into his ISO on my own today to check up on things. I'm not convinced by him, he's a null I'm suspicious of. He could very well be teamed with IAWY if he is indeed scum. I don't feel his push on Sig is very good. Firstly because I feel Sig is a player that would be easy to push on (easy target, for various reasons), and two because the argument doesn't seem all that strong to me and gets a bit repetative. I don't think it makes that much sense for scum!Sig to push on Soneji of all people if Sig is scum. That being said, I don't think it's impossible for Soneji to be town doing all this either. So it's inconclusive atm.
No worries, that's understandable. I feel like we're mind melding the most this phase, so I'm with you on IAWY. It would take some real town spark from IAWY to get me to move that vote, because I have not liked his recent posts (though he seems like a nice fellow). :beer:

Not a problem, let me know what you think when you get to it. Yeah, sig is an easy mislynch (or lynch in general), so I think he's particularly difficult to read. I need to figure him out myself.

Thanks for the elaboration.
Once you read me as Mafia you stop looking at me as town, so commenting that you don't like my recent posts is meaningless except as a tool to convince others to look at me the same way, which is a scummy tactic, or possibly a cop tactic but I don't think you would've been this subtle about a redcheck on me if that was a possibility.
That's just not true. I've been keeping an open mind but every time you've posted I haven't seen any town spark at all.

Also... wtf? Why would a townie think this?

I think as a thread we definitely need to open this conversation in time for d3 though, regardless of what happens d2/n2. Hosting Turf Wars was an eye opener for me with respect to the fact that, as a site in general, we let players who contribute little slide by too often for way too long into games without thoroughly examining them. Regarding what you said about Zexy, that's intriguing; it's how I feel about Dizzy at the moment. Anyway, let's talk more table tomorrow, or feel free to comment as you wish and I can get back to you if you feel we don't need to talk in real time. It's clear I still need to ISO and reevaluate some folks I don't feel I have a good grip on anyway, so that may assist.

IAWY, I'll be sure to read your other responses and consider them thoroughly, I assure you. I'm looking for a strong spark of town from you though to convince me that you shouldn't die tomorrow, so show me and all of us what you got.

Marco, sounds good, I look forward to hearing what you have to say. I don't want to be blinded by meta with respect to Golden, or anyone else for that matter (zebra, Wilgy, and others could apply too), but I am definitely feeling pretty alright with him right now.

I need to be awake in 5 hours tops as I have a very long day tomorrow, and I'll be on campus for a while attending various meetings and what not.

So, a game-relevant warning to all you folks: For the remainder of d2 I can't promise that I will really be present much, if at all really, until sometime in the evening Central time. I should be here for the last couple/few hours before EoD at a minimum though.

Night, fellow players! :offtobed:
What makes you so certain that I won't die today? Are you expecting someone else to be lunched instead of me? Unless you mean tomorrow IRL instead of tomorrow as in the next day phase.
Tomorrow IRL. Also, I was saying you should die, you need to convince me that you shouldn't.

Because I wanted to force myself to judge the content and give an opinion. I didn't want null reads.

You didn't want reason in my responses. You dismissed all reason out of hand with attempts to trip me up in semantics and comments like 'I expected that tactic'. I mean, you ask me to explain the progression of my sloonei read, so I explain it very carefully the whole way through... and you just dismissed every aspect of it in every way. And that's me not using reason or having a reasonable discussion?

PS - I never blamed silverwolf for the failure to communicate. I think it was on both of us. If I wasn't giving her the time of day, I wouldn't have come out the other side with a town read. This kind of stuff is just bullsuit. Stop thinking you know whats going on in my head, how selfish I am etc. It's not about ME, even though you seem to want to make it about me.

Please read this post ika.
the case was explained yesterday/today repeated, its follow up on sivlers death and his weak case and his over defensiveness and discredits

i dont buy either that MP did not account town!vig, i think he knowledge slipped that its scum vig

Would you be able to pull any quotes on it?

I recall what happened at the start of this day, but I'm not bothered by it. For what it's worth, sig also made a similar mistake, though in his case, he just didn't notice the civ vig in the matrix.
iso silver, if sig made that slip i would pin him next after MP.

if he read matrix he should see town vig easy.
:disappoint:

You don't read my posts, do you?

MM made a comment very early in the game which I felt revealed that he thought MP had implied a town power role. I also thought MP had effectively implied this, but I kept it under my hat. The choice to put it in the thread was part of me seeing both marmot and sloonei as bad in the early day. I feel like scum would be more blase pointing out that MP could be a power role than scum would be.

Since it is kind of now open discussion, though, I agree that MP or sig, if they are in possession of the correct set up, should say what it is.
I refuse to comment on this.

VOTE GOLDEN

Heyo Golden! I fully intend to change my vote to someone else, but right now I have you in my larger-than-it-should-be list of null reads, so since you're here right I'd like to have some sort of interaction. Anything you can tell me about your reads and specifically some thoughts on myself, Soneji (who is currently my only Mafia read) and MP (who seems to be a bit shady)?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
MP - last time I remember playing with him where he was scum, I nailed on him on day one. Then, I died shortly afterwards and didn't get to lynch him until I got a rezz several days later, by chance, and by that point he'd done a major AtE gambit and I'd begun to doubt my read. But really, I think I am decent at reading MP. He does change things up a bit, but I think I'm much more likely to scum read his town game than town read his scum game. But he has mostly been town recently, hasn't had many scum games.
MP's cycle of frustration and apology, and in fact almost everything about MP, reeks of his town game to me. If he is scum, he has me deeply fooled and I'll congratulate him for playing a very strong scum game. The reasons I've seen for suspecting him have all been things standard to MP's town meta. He is a unique player and I like to wittingly call him 'the suicidal moron' because, when town, he is very good at doing something to make himself look incredibly scummy and end up being lynched for it. Of the people whose meta I know decently well, MP is the only one who I feel very firmly about in terms of their likelihood to be town.
I can attest to the accuracy of this content. :nicenod:
Marco, did you still want opinions on this Golden stuff you posted? http://www.mafiathesyndicate.com/viewto ... 00#p266292
If so, I'll take a look at it and I can clarify on some specific points, but it'll probably be lower priority until I at least catch up fully.
@MP, I'm not planning on voting golden this phase, but I do want your thoughts on that golden post. You can do so next phase as per your convenience.
Also, how long before phase ends. At this point, I'm back to my lynch candidates of yesterday, IAWY and MM.
