Rip Indi! I can't say your vigor in his game will be replaced, but we'll try to persevere.

Also, I just noticed it was her turn to send a sortie so I will do it:

So say we all.

There was something I kept forgetting to address. Zebra's votes. I did at one point suspect both Rico and Zebra. This was based upon her responses to some things, they felt off. But then as time went along, her responses seemed more genuine, so she fell off my list. I don't feel suspicious of her at all at the moment. the same is true of Rico.i felt like it was all semantics with him, but the more I have watched and considered it, the more I just feel like this is probably normal Rico. This is why LC was the one to get my vote. Even though I would not have preferred any of them.

At the moment my lead suspect is Jay. Can I ask you sir, at one point you said you were surprised by my response to your back and forth with Zebra since I hosted Turf Wars. Could you explain to me why you feel that way? I see you poking people, but I don't see you poking with as much purpose as you usually do. I feel like you are trying for a reaction, but the things you are poking at don't seem to be the kind of things that will give you a good mafia indication so it looks like you emulating your civ game. And your back and forth with zebra looked staged because you poked, her response seemed minimal to me , something like two one line responses and you were just like,ok that is how I would expect a townie to respond. But it wasn't how I would have expected a townie to respond so I found it suspect that you accepted her response so quickly. It seemed out of character to me at the time.

Also, just so you all know, I have no intention of reading those last 25 pages. I'm up to date otherwise so I'll go from here, and may read stuff from it if I do some ISOs. Time will tell, but I'm not busting my butt on that endeavor any longer.

AWESOME!!

I know I've advocated that *some* cylons can be and most likely are good. I believe this as much as I believe that cheese makes most everything better.

But - the more cylon rez ships we destroy - the better it is for us because a) The civ aligned cylons are now just like us humans. They live or die with each lynch and NK - and b) When we find Cavil we might be able to kill him. I want to kill him and his followers so badly.

[secret role] Might be human. Might be cylon. Might be stationed on Galactica. Might not. Who really knows.
Is there anything we can derive from looking at the role list this way? Lore people- can you tell us about any factions or interplay between these two groups that Golden the Coward ;) might have brought over into the game?
Here it is.

As far as the humans go, the lists make perfect sense. Since there was a fleet, and certain people were on different ships. So I haven't analyzed each human on the Galactica and each human elsewhere, but in general that makes sense.

Beyond that, here is what I've found on each of the cylons, relating to their currently assigned locations. (Yes, this contains spoilers, read at your own risk if you haven't watched the show and want to watch it still.)

On Galactica
Spoiler: show
Cavil - One of the Number Ones, prior to being discovered among the Fleet, posed as Brother Cavil, a member of the Colonial clergy. However, contrary to his assumed role, he did not share the other Cylons' religious beliefs and frequently mocked them.

Doral - "Number Five", known to the humans as Aaron Doral, appears to be a man in his mid-thirties. He is initially encountered aboard Galactica, where he is operating as a public relations executive. Later he is active both within the fleeing Colonial fleet and on Caprica. He seems designed to network, almost to the point of being the sleazy used-car salesman type, but with a sadistic, violent side.

But Doral is a humanoid Cylon in reality. The Doral model's purpose is to attempt to sow the seeds of discontent or confusion, particularly during crucial life-threatening situations. Doral models endeavor to undermine authority that threatens his objectives. Doral models are more covert than the dazzling Sixes, assuming an ordinary "everyman" appearance blended in what may seem to be insignificant behind-the-scenes issues (such as converting Galactica into a museum).

Boomer - Sharon "Boomer" Valerii is a copy of the humanoid Cylon model Number Eight who is initially planted as a "sleeper" agent in the Colonial Fleet. She is unaware of her Cylon nature and serves for two years as Lieutenant Valerii on Galactica, where she is assigned as a Raptor pilot and also engaged in a secret relationship with Chief Tyrol. After the Cylon attack, her underlying programming repeatedly emerges which leads her to unconscious acts of sabotage. Growing confusion about her true self result in a deep depression and a failed suicide attempt. After Valerii returns from a successful mission to destroy a Cylon basestar, she shoots Commander William Adama in the chest, wounding him critically. She is incarcerated in the brig and soon afterward is killed by Cally Henderson.

Athena - The Cylon who eventually comes to be known as Sharon "Athena" Agathon is a Number Eight humanoid Cylon copy.

She is first encountered by Karl "Helo" Agathon when he is stranded on Caprica. Initially assigned to seduce him by impersonating Lieutenant Sharon "Boomer" Valerii, as part of a Cylon cross-breeding experiment, she turns against her people and helps him escape the planet. Pregnant with Helo's child, Helo is shocked by her true nature but ultimately accepts her lovingly as the mother of his child.

Once on Galactica, she is imprisoned and long seen as a mere object.

Not aboard:
Spoiler: show
Leoben - Number Two is first encountered at the Ragnar Anchorage, where he poses as an arms dealer and calls himself Leoben Conoy. It is likely that he was assigned with the monitoring of this depot station as the war began, gaining intelligence on battlestars that visited there. Alternatively, he may have been tasked with stealing away or destroying the ammunition (or the station itself) to prevent its use by the Colonials.

D'Anna - "Number Three" is a model of humanoid Cylon, female, blonde, and marked by a religious curiosity—notably surrounding the verboten Final Five—that sets her against the other Cylon models, notably the Number Ones.

The model was first introduced in "Final Cut" as an infiltrator in the Fleet under the alias "D'Anna Biers" posing as a reporter for the Fleet News Service. She appears to be more of a tabloid rumor-and-innuendo format news journalist and less of the conventional Fleet journalist types such as James McManus.

O'Neill - "Number Four", also referred to by his human name Simon O'Neill, is a humanoid Cylon that speaks calmly and purposefully, and tends to use logic as a means for his operation or resolving issues (TRS: "Torn"), and is not as religious as his counterparts.[2] This model appears to be the medical specialist of the Cylons and also takes on the role of a doctor or medic when functioning as an infiltrator (TRS: "The Farm", "Six of One", "The Plan"). Apparently the infiltrators of this type are more likely to use their medical skills subversively than to engage in direct combat.

A Four captured on an infected basestar near the Lion's Head Nebula is interrogated on Galactica. He reveals information about the ship and the Cylons' motives for abandoning it, in exchange for a cure promised by the humans. However, there is no cure, only a treatment.

Caprica Six - For two years, Caprica-Six lived on Caprica. Seducing the ambitious, self-obsessed, arrogant Gaius Baltar, she fools him into believing she was a corporate spy, seeking to gain advantage over her competitors in order to secure a lucrative defense contract. Over the course of two years, she used Baltar to gain access to his work -- even to the extent of re-writing many of his own algorithms -- in order to subvert his own Command Navigation Program for use in the forthcoming Cylon attack to cripple Colonial forces with no warning. (Never appears on Galactica in the flesh.)
As far as gleaning anything about alignment based on their location, I don't see it. To me, the alignment (based on lore) would likely look like:

Cavil vs D'Anna

Cavil Faction: ones (Cavil), fours (O'Neill), fives (Doral) and Boomer (Cavil also hated the Final 5, wanting them dead and/or boxed), the Hybrid (if it exists) may be in this faction, or work as an indy

D'Anna's Group: twos (Leoben), threes (D'Anna), and Athena, Caprica Six may be in this faction, or work as an indy

So it looks like they're all just all over the place. And I'm just doing this after lots of reading. So I could of course be wrong, but I think if the factions/groups follow show lore, this is the way it will look. Hybrid and C Six are an unknown, afaik. Though I do know that D'Anna angered the Hybrid at one point with her actions, so that's why I would put it with Cavil, or as an indy.

I'd love to hear more input from other show watchers, or wiki readers.
YES! I agree - so long as the cylon's are following the lore. Given the fact that we KNOW the final 5 are not necessarily following lore due to who is alive at the time of activation - I can see our host doing something true but wonky here too ya know?

I honestly - lore based - feel like the Hybrid is likely the secret role. I know it's been pointed out that Hera (Athena and Helo's baby could be) but IDK. Hybrid feels more likely for true Indy. I can see Hera. I keep going back and forth about secret role.

I wonder how many ships there are? Someone said how many there were in the series, I think, didn't they?
I'm sooo happy the pilots came back.

I'm guessing that our Admiral Goldama has a specific amount of rez ships in his grid. And after we find them we *might* find the hub ship ala battleship style.

That said - IDK if it's right or not - but wouldn't it be cool if the Cylon's were engaged in a similar not in the thread version of searching for Galactica that we are doing with the rez ships? Since they are chasing us after all....

I'm positive that if we ask our lovely host he won't confirm or deny it - it's just a mechanic I can see being implemented in this theme.

And now I wonder about peeps who've asked where they think "we" are located....

I can't wait for matt to read this and his brain to asploade with thinking I have inside info an I'm now bad again. ;) :p

SokothQultuq wrote:You know it came up briefly but it seemed like it was a topic that was either ignored but seems to be a reoccurring theme question... Are Cylons good or bad? Do they have the capacity to be either or? Are they simply just a program or more? I'm curious what some of you think. Are Cylons inherently bad because they cannot think beyond programming? Or are they truly evolved?

It might make me looked down on but I feel like they could be either. I believe that if they've learned to think like true artificial intelligence then they can also learn to think for themselves. If they can show compassion and love. Think for themselves and make decisions then perhaps they are not all bad. At what point do we set aside our anger and hate for these things and see them for what they are. Alive. But who makes that decision? Are Cylons or at least the models that look, think, and act like humans are they alive? Do they meet the scientific criteria for something that is honestly alive? I'm no scientist or biologist but someone has to know that answer.
I think the thread has been having this exact discussion since Epi flipped Athena.

fwiw - I've thought that cylons *could* be civ before Epi flipped Athena. Specifically FOR the role he flipped.

I think the peeps who think on both sides of the fence have been clearly known.

I'm not sure what you are trying to accomplish here but atm, it feels too little too late. I don't mean that negatively. I don't want to shut down your talking - I want to understand where you are coming from and why you ignored my post in response to your last post before this 24 hour time that asked specific questions for specific things.

Good law Admiral.

I'm still not a Cylon.

And also again - well, beers. So hence my fury.

I can see how it was missed. And still the same olive branch exists. If I can help with holes - I literally spent my two days off reading EVERYFRACKING THING. I can sum up pretty good but tainted by my leanings. That said, I don't particularly think my leanings are bad. ;)

This part of the post is unusual enough for me to comment on. And I always assume that stuff in posts is 100% flavour, and that the final line that gives the results is the only thing that really matters. So I am not making any inferences about the two players mentioned. It's just that it's in its own section, not even remotely attempting to be related to the only official info given: indi's death.

Indiglo has died. It is now Day three. This period will last 48 hours. The Galactica has jumped clear of the influence of black holes.
RIP indi. I never really said it, though I had it in a post once and deleted it: you were in charge of the Sorties. You were our captain on that mission, and you did a fantastic job. Under your supervision, we've now taken out three Rez Ships. Thank you so much for your selfless contribution, I'm sorry to see you go. :noble: :noble: :noble: Triple Noble salute!

Very creative, President! What's gonna happen? I predict that the player that is going to be lynched today will, not before deadline minus fifteen minutes, declare themselves a Cylon in order to avoid getting lynched.

Aware of this likelihood, we will have some sort of loose idea of a second-place lynch candidate with some votes, provided we can all come to some agreement about who's voting where and what it will mean in the new reality this law dictates.

This second-place candidate will likely be paying attention, and declare themselves a Cylon to survive, in which case the third-most votes will decide the lynch target. If we somehow come together harmoniously enough to be able to plan for this eventuality, I propose we go for a low-posting type, someone we just don't have the ability to give a solid read on, but more importantly, someone who isn't going to be likely to declare themselves a Cylon. :nicenod: You dig what I'm saying?

(And of course, everyone but Epi who declares themselves a Cylon to escape lynch is going to later deny being a Cylon, claiming only to have said it under threat of death, etc. Right? I don't see this law as being likely to catch Cylons.)

That will take some indiglo-Sortie-level-planning, and I don't know if it's possible. I think it would take at least three designated players who will be around at lynch time to choose the third target on the fly or something. Even just typing this out, my mind is blown by how much this changes the entire landscape of the lynch. We can choose to let fate and vote timing and online availability decide this lynch in a more uncontrollable way than usual... or we can come together and work with each other to keep tight control on who is getting lynched. Either option works for me. I'm too lazy to take the helm in an organization bid.

I just wanted to talk out some scenarios in order to get everyone thinking in portals. This crazy law is forever, each one of us gets to literally stop their own lynch with a simple post once in the game, be it today or on Day 14. This is our new reality, breath it in and taste it.

Oh yeah, RIPiywg indi. I think it sucks whoever NKd you cuz you were obviously a big fan of the show, so shame on dem mafias.

Before you died, you were wondering if you should mention what brings the Final Five together, and suddenly KABOOM you go splat, so I think I'll finish what you started with that, at the very least.

In the episode Crossroads, four of the final five start hearing music coming from the ship itself and follow the music. At the end, I believe they all meet up in the same room, and find out who each other are. The song they were hearing was "All Along the Watchtower" by Bob Dylan.

They also say a few of the lyrics, don't know if that is what Indi was referring to, the lyrics some of the Final Five said were...

There must be some way out of here
said the joker to the thief
There's too much confusion
I can't get no relief

I'm super confused as to what you think I have slipped about? ]

Iso me. I've been talking about the idea of civ aligned cylons for like ever. YOU were the one I was responding to where. I first said "I'd have a rough time seeing athena as anything but civ aligned." Please go back and look.

I don't think I'm miss remembering in saying that happened before epi flipped athena. Where have I slipped? I think I've been pretty constant on my stance about the cylons.

Lol.

You said it's better for us because now, the "civ aligned" Cylons can be killed.

But at the same time, that's not even a biggie, for all I know I misunderstood you, which is probably.

But what about LC's?

Like, did he just think that anyone could pretend to be a Cylon to avoid a lynch? I doubt it, the way he was talking. So "each one of us" is mighty interesting. Unless I'm misunderstanding that as well. :shrug2:

Oh, and for the love of everything...

If there is such a thing as a secret Quorum in this game, then I demand ya all get together and rip apart the "Cylon Amnesty Act".

K thanks.

I believe there are civ aligned cylons and I believe the fact that *all* humans know they can die now is better for us humans as its an issue that devices us humans. Ya dig?

I don't know about lc or his motivations tbh. I have a checkered history of being Charlie Brown to his luck if ya know what I mean.

I'm sad you only responded to Matt's "are you bad" post.

Please help me and everyone else understand you better.
The problem I find with your question "Are you bad" is that I would have to give away my nature in order to answer your question and that would most certainly defeat the purpose of the game I would think.

If your asking my option if I'm a good or bad person I believe that is a relative opinion in the eye of the beholder. In my opinion I would say aside from my wacky nature I would say I'm good. I was being a smart ass which I have a tendency to be at times.

As far as your observation on my question about the Cylon = Good or bad thing. I didn't feel that it was clear where most people stood. Could be that I was confused honestly there was a lot of back and forth and lets not forget all the random terminology I'm not used to seeing yet. I was hoping for more elaboration with perhaps a bit more clear context perhaps simplification even.

If I missed a question you asked, please feel free to ask again. I'm off to bed myself. G'night all.

Cool man! I'll wait for an answer from you about the question of where you are on the map when you get a chance, and there is no rush at all on that. Maybe bea will be interested in your answer as well.
I did answer back then. Answering you wouldbe infodumping, so I can't answer you. Relevance, your conship?

Omfg. Oh well, FoS on Wilgy then.

Regardless, I think Nero should be lynched on grounds that he's my partner, your partner, Enrique's partner, the Joker, the Riddler, the Gingerbread Man, and Toto.

I can't wait for matt to read this and his brain to asploade with thinking I have inside info an I'm now bad again. ;) :p
oh - also - matt if you go back and look - I can think off the top of my head at least *one* person who's asked "where you think you are" while we sortie. ;)
Geez, talk about going over your own posts to see if they sounded right. When you do it while drinking, it almost makes them look bad in a way.
As someone who makes typos/misspells/etc alot (I am probably the EBWOP Queen) I see nothing wrong with looking back over your posts to see if you made any errors. I do it all the time. Clarity is important, and if you are someone who may not always be clear, it isn't a bad practice.

When you make posts like this it make you sound more bad, making implications based on someones basic personality traits which are unrelated to affiliation. When I talk about you making feints at people, this is what I mean. Little implications that you can sow & pick up later if they bear fruit.

I do not plan on voting for you today, though, slip or no slip, because I think you were trying to get lynched last day. I think you will gain some benefit from it, maybe a permanent rezz, or something like that. Maybe your "all cylons must die" thing when that obviously is not true is part of that. But you have some sort of game going on here (a con, if you will) and I for one really don't want to give it to you.

I definitely think there was a Nutella save going on the other day. That is what I plan to look at today. Will be out a large chunk of daytime today (finally the rain stopped!!) but will be around tonight & most of the day tomorrow.

Cylon Amnesty Act: Any person may publicly admit to being a cylon and, if the declaration is true, they will have immunity from the lynch for that day. Once a person has outed themselves as a cylon, they cannot do it a second time.

I would never hire you as my lawyer.
