Also... I think it's fair for me to say this? Ika was targetted by every single negative power on night one. He was sent to the brig, insanified, killed and I can't even remember what else.

Interesting!

So it was in my role pm. I must have overlooked it? :haha: How sad. Of course, I wouldn't have used it (more than likely) so quickly in the game anyway.

I was wondering about attacks on the Galactica. Cool!! Glad that didn't have to happen.

Also, 1 of the laws that I submitted to be put in the pool of laws was The Patriot Act - where any player could offer themselves to die in place of Kat or Hot Dog on a sortie mission during any day. Since the sorties didn't last the whole game (thank goodness!) it wouldn't have worked out, but it still seemed like a good idea.

Did any other presidents submit any other laws of their own?

Also, I know I won the very first contest (couldn't use the prize tho), who won the other contests? Did Bea ever use her Sam power to win or get a duplicate award?

~Linki~ I also passed the Ika Conscription Act the first night. Poor ika.

No, it was in your role PM.

One thing I did with the laws was try and create things that would lead to interesting but balanced gameplay. The Cylon Amnesty Act is a great example - it led people on a witch hunt against cylons even though a majority of cylons were town aligned. SVS and G-Man got in early burning their amnesties to look good. People were so paranoid about how the law could benefit the baddies that, in my opinion, the 'burn all amnesties' discussion and tactic that dominated the thread was far more damaging for the town then just letting it play out - but this is exactly the paranoia that I wanted to get out there.

My personal favourite law that never got enacted was the "G-Man meme Act". Black Rock actually had the opportunity to pass this on the final night and I had the sense it would probably be the last game day, so I was so hoping she would pass it and force G-Man to defend himself to the end in memes.
Told you it'll be a witch hunt...

I did feel bad about how much that law got the thread off track. The message I was trying to convey with that law seemed so obvious to me, but of course, (luckily for all of you) your brains don't work exactly like mine.

I wouldn't have claimed dead, until being the last eligible one to do it - although I started getting worried that the last irony in store for me in this game would be to flip Final Five. Still, I must have ended, overall, one of the very few examples of a human non-claimer, which is still pretty ironic.

Drumbeats

I think SVS came second, but given the prize was a nightkill protect...

here are the entries - SVS is number 1, INH number 2, rabbit number 4... can't remember which of the other two is Drums and which is G-Mans.

Concept: Wild West style time travel! Dr Quinn Medicine Woman meets Time Cop!

Dorothy "Merry Surgeon" King is a US frontier doctor in the 1880’s. She got her medical education by disguising herself as a boy and attending lectures. Since she has no real degree, she could not get a job in the big city, so she travelled to frontier town Baltar City, Nevada, a free wheeling Wild West town with an assortment of zany stock characters. Since the nearest doctor is 100 miles away, the locals begrudgingly accept “Dr”. King. One day, while the Governor of the territory is on her table with a gunshot wound, Dotty, at a loss as to how to remove the bullet, sees a young woman materialize right before her eyes! This mysterious apparition is …

Zoe Reywas. Zoe is Dorothys great great great granddaughter from the year 2075. She is a medical student at Stanford University. The story of her pioneering 4xG Granny was her inspiration to go into a medical career. One day, while tracking down some research results, she stumbles into the lab of Dr. Edgar Musky, whose cutting edge research is in the field of Time Travel. She plays with the controls, setting the coordinates for Baltar City, and the year 1881, not expecting it to work. She pushes the button and…

…after explaining the situation to Dorothy, Zoe helps her to remove the bullet cleanly. Dorothy has troubles accepting it, until Zoe shows her her ring, which, paradoxically, is the twin of her own! It was a one of a kind family heirloom made by her father from a Gold Nugget for her mother.

Thinking she is stuck in time, Zoe introduces Dotty to feminism and modern medical techniques. They have several adventures together in healing & hijinks, trying to blend futuristic Zoe into 1881 Nevada. Until…

Bruce-Jean Von Willis arrives in town. He is a time enforcer sent by Dr. Edgar Musky to eliminate all knowledge of time travel so Musky alone can reap the rewards. It is Von Willis’ mission to track down Zoe, erase her memory & send her back to Stanford, none the wiser. Then he must eliminate Dotty before she can save any lives she was not destined to save, or pioneer medical techniques before their time.

Can Zoe get back to 2075, memory intact? Will Dotty heal too many people & create a paradox that collapses time? Will Zoe & Von Willis fall in love?

major character 1: so there's this dude with a alcoholic surgeon dad who is kind of a dick to him, so when the dude grows up and also becomes a big surgeon man he treats his old pops like shit and blows up any chance his daddy ever had at getting his shit together, naturally the dude thinks this is his dad's fault, so the dad dies after an epic bender in australia, and the dude comes down under to pick him up and then his plane crashes! so now he's on this island and overcompensating for everything

major character 2: so there's this dude who grew up in a foster home and his mom comes and finds him when hes like 40 and introduces him to his dad who's a con-man piece of shit who steals his kidney, and the dude gets angry and meets katey sagal and they get together and things get kinda good, but then his dad comes back, fakes his own death, and tries to help his son get some money in order to kinda even things out; the dude lies, katey sagal gets pissed and he loses her and the money; then his dad comes back into town a third time, and the dad ends up murdering some dude and his son finds out and confronts him and is then pushed out a window putting him into a wheelchair then he goes to australia in order to prove he's like a man and shit and then his plane crashes! so now he's on this island and overcompensating for everything

I have so much faith in this working
Entry 3 wrote:In the not-too distant future (let's say 100 years from now), physicists discover how to make time travel possible. To the surprise of many physicists, the Novikov self-consistency principle (you cannot change the past; whatever happened happened) appears to be a law of time travel. That doesn't stop people from trying to alter the past. Hostile governments and terrorist networks attempt to build and use time machines to modify history to their own agenda. For this reason, the United Nations establishes the Bureau of Temporal Compossibility (BTC) to monitor and disrupt unauthorized development and use of time travel technology around the globe.

Our story begins twenty years after the formation of the BTC. Our chief protagonist, Howard Freeman, is called into the head of BTC’s office, where he is briefed alongside four field agents. Freeman is an analyst monitoring via satellite for electromagnetic frequency anomalies associated with the use of spacetime technology. He longs for more exciting work but doesn’t understand all the heady aspects of time travel theory. He is late-20’s early-30’s. An inquisitive and witty fellow, like a young Nathan Fillion.

In the briefing, the head of BTC informs the quintet that, 72 hours ago, agents in the Balkans arrested a spacetime terrorist named Dalibora Kasun, one of BTC’s most wanted. During her interrogation, Kasun repeated the same phrase over and over again, “Review the files on the storage drive.” Upon review of the drive files, BTC learned that Kasun and her agents traveled back in time to 1928 New York. There they set a series of bombs that will detonate unless BTC agents travel back in time to stop them. Among the files were newspaper clippings spanning 10 months including many pictures in which at least one of Freeman and the four field agents have been verified as appearing in.

Due to the spacetime law of compossibilty, Kasun has engineered a situation where Freeman and the agents are required to travel back in time to disarm the bombs in order to preserve the continuity of time. Completely in over his head, Freeman relies on the head agent, Jackson Reynolds, to help him understand what they can and cannot do in the past as their mission unfolds. Reynolds is a grizzled man in his early-50’s and has been training for temporal engagement for the last 15 years. As their mission unfolds, the team uncovers more plots (including an attempt to assassinate then-governor of New York, Franklin Delano Roosevelt), have numerous encounters with Kasun in the past (though they cannot arrest her because she is not arrested until she travels back to the future), and come to question the supposed laws of time travel that BTC holds sacred.

“Why, if we had a window I could get some light in here. Would make this whole ordeal a little less menacing. Don’t you think?” the priest asked.

“Fuck off,” Bethany said. I’m going to punch you in the face the first chance I get and knock that stupid smile off your face. “What do you want?”

“You think yourself a hero, dear?” the priest asked, gesturing with his hands after every word. “I think you’re a hero. A champion of the children. Their savior.” What the fuck is he talking about?

“Look what you’ve done. This is, unacceptable,” the priest said, pulling a handkerchief from his robes. “Why, this will never do. It may never come out. Look what you’ve done. With humanity split among the different planets and moons, each planet has formed it's own empire, which have lived in relative peace (with a few smaller wars between neighboring civilizations) for centuries. As time has worn on, the empire of Tethys has bleed their resources dry and begins an invasion on Saturnus with support from the other moon colonies. This invasion becomes the catalyst for a galactic war of opposing factions, which would become the focus of the early seasons of the show. Later on, it will be learned that the sun is also dying, which will become a focus later on, while each

Key players in the beginning of the war include: The Tethys Alliance, initially composed of Saturn's moons minus Titan, who aim to redistribute resources from the large and plentiful empires to the smaller societies. Saturnus, who simply want to defend their land against Tethys. Titan, who attempts to stay out of the war, but eventually sides with Saturnus, believing their victory to be inevitable. The Junoh Coalition, an uneasy alliance of three independent nations on Jupiter, each pursue their own interests in the war, both internally and in the Saturnus conflict. As the story progresses, more empires will be brought into the mix from all of the other planets/moons on the galaxy, each with their own motives and culture. One lead character will be Vesper, a young prodigy commander from Tethys. She grew up in poverty and experienced the fullest extent of Tethys's declining resource problem, and is determined to save her homeworld. However, as her faction gains ground, she begins to realize that the spoils of their victory are not even reaching the lower classes of her home, and are being squandered by the wealthy. She begins to work with one of the nations of Jupiter in planning a coup on Tethys.

Another major character will be Illius, an engineer who supposedly came from the colonies on Luna in order to aide Saturnus in the war. Illius strives to create more advanced fuel systems, which he believes will allow a peaceful solution to the war by allowing the resource devoid planets to relocate to the Andromeda galaxy. He struggles with himself as Saturnus begins to use his creation to fuel weaponry to use against the moons rather than the peaceful solution, leading to the destruction of the moon Rhea. Illius is later revealed to be one of the Remnants, who has been trying to use his inventions to save humanity from the sun's impending collapse.

Awesome results!!! Congrats to all
On an awesome game. I only have a minute but a few things:

My smiley "punishment" was originally me choosing to self sensor because Silver was in the brig. It was me planning to have myself a connection to her I could use later if I needed to. After that, punishments were actual.

Yes, I thought Matt had been recruited by LC because of GMan apparently lol

INH is a great player and I wish I had more time as his BTSC partner.

I got BTSC at the end with Cavil but didn't have enough time to use it more than a post or two.

My win condition changed no less than four times (either officially or by picking between an either or.) I am not as schizophrenic as I seemed. One day I was bad then good then bad then good then OMG I was head-spinning!!

I'll say more later but Love y'all all, that was an awesome game, I am so happy and thankful to have been a part of this game as my return to Mafia!!

THANK YOU GOLDEN for this game and all your hard work!!

I believe that I said as much in my most recent Last Will and Testament (that NONE of you read :fist: ). Yes, G-Man, you are totally forgiven! I thought you played a great game and maybe one day, we may play again together.

I would like to clarify that last message for you all since none of you got it. I said:

"A heroine shall rise to lead the people from peril - whom all will know by a sign - that she'd been saved for this good purpose."

I was referring to Sig here (if only he were smart enough to have worked that out). A 'heroine' should've been a massive clue to the fact that I knew his identity. The sign, that he/she'd been 'saved' for this good purpose was a reference to my saving him by cancelling the lynch Day 5. Given that this message came out (if I recall correctly) the same Night I was revealed as being Town aligned SHOULD'VE given my message the credibility it deserved.

I also want to say that two players in particular impressed me a lot this game. 3J, I thought you were awesome. Your analysis were a work of art. Your assessment of me after having reviewed my previous games was 100% on point and an indication of just how good at these games you are. The other is Ricochet. Mate, I NEVER lied to you and to read some of the things you said post my demise (and even after my alignment was revealed) caused me genuine dismay. You too are clearly a fantastic player - it's just a shame you couldn't let go of the perception that I was bad. I'm possibly the most transparent person you'll ever play against and I can't accept that I genuinely sounded insincere...

I'll try harder next time, Glorfindel. Sorry about the emotions it might have caused you, but basically, until the alignment flips happened I treated yours as mafia, and afterwards, I simply tried to flip ... uhm your flip on all sides (this is re: you being potential seemer, most of all), because I found it rather too conflicting. Anything else I said post-death was probably just banter (I remember one or two times).

[quote="Ricochet"]Ok, here are some hot takes. I'll start off with the narcissistic ones, but it'll get better afterwards:

26) Please to answer: Sokoth, who did you make immune from votes on them counting?

Actually I don't think that anyone I set up with a save was in danger in the end.

Scotty was one of the first ones.
I know I did Silverwolf a few times thinking they might get taken out. Then of course when I shifted that vote away I think she got axed.
JJJ twice
Those are the only ones I remember. I know I forgot to use it a few times in there too. But I dont think it saved anyone.

Honestly, I knew he'd be nightkilled, but I figured ending his banter would have been better for the game, so I chose not to protect him.

My Boomer searches were:
N1 - MetalMarsh
N2 - Epi (when the Athena is revived as boomer theory was going around)
N3 - LoRab
N4 - Sig
N5 - 3J
N6 - Wilgy
And then I stopped cause Boomer died. I thought about using it on dead Glorf to see if it would work but decided against it in case he'd been recruited.

You should grateful to 3J my friend. Had he not jumped the fleet, you'd have been toast Night 4...

He just didn't know you had already sent in that PM.
So even then I was defending Wilgy, without even knowing it.

The thing is, I was probably never going to convince any of you that I wasn't bad given my role. Hell, I'd have had a hard time believing me. I was really inspired though by that post of 3J's where he judged me good (not knowing my role) but arriving at the conclusion of my innocence based on what he saw of my posts in previous games despite the hysterical calls for my lynching. One has to respect that kind of strength of character and it kinda restored my faith a little about Mafia on this site.

Your tone in BTSC crept me out so much lol. I felt pressured, didn't know if I should lie or go straight to the truth. Lying didn't work out after all though :keys:

Regardless, I think Nero should be lynched on grounds that he's my partner, your partner, Enrique's partner, the Joker, the Riddler, the Gingerbread Man, and Toto.

Ha ha ha, I was trying very hard to sound *not* like me, and since I don't *think* I normally creep people out I guess I succeeded.

Plus BTS was hard before I was outed; I tried very hard to log in as little as possible and at times when very few were on. So I wrote generic messages and cut & pasted them into all the chatrooms as fast as I could, like the last one I sent about not killing any cylons. So I sounded rather vague most of the time, I think. Which probably added to the "creepy" thing.

I was going for menacing, yet fatherly, since my interpretation of Cavil was that he had that feel for his "people". Like the civvie cylons were weak & misguided, but I still loved them anyhow, and did not want to box any of them unless I had to.

Obscure Allure, what was with the punishment you claimed you'd receive if you claimed? I didn't believe it which made me for a while see you as bad. Was there punishment and if so what? Or were you just pulling our leg?

The first one was fake. Silver was in the brig and I did it so that I could link to her later. But you guys linked it to a punishment so I went with it. The other punishments were real because I kept talking about BTS shit. Lol.

Anyway,

Thanks for the kind words, Glorfindel. You should stick around and keep playing with us as your time permits. I think you have a talent for transparency, which can be a great asset once people become more accustomed to your style. Hell, in future games if people give you crap for the same reasons, you can refer them back to this and tell them they're bad. :P

Congrats to the winners! I obviously didn't end up keeping up with the game, although I wanted to at first, but by the time the Wills of the Dead Act started I had no idea what was happening so I never sent anything :( not that it would have been valuable or trusted anyway :p But basically I didn't really know anything, and in fact it's kind of funny that people tried to find other baddies based on my lynch while the truth was I had zero BTSC and zero clue of who any of my teammates were :p Anyway, though it got long and complicated and I don't really know what happened, it looked like a really cool and fun game for those who got to be more involved. Great job Golden!

Right after this, Goldama posted an admonition against discussing win conditions, which I thought was a pretty big indicator of what to look for. Yet in the end, even 3J, who was essentially spot-on the entire game, concluded my defense of the Dr. was entirely lore-based.

This was what Dex caught that cleared Wilgy.

I agree with this, Glorf. I enjoyed watching you play, and I enjoyed your posts. I hope you'll stick around, sometimes things can get heated and people can get a bit worked up in a game, but someone with your ability to remain polite and dispassionate while playing will be a big asset round these parts!!!

Sokoth, also wanted to say I enjoyed watching you play also! Your GTH list was soooo accurate! So you have a good mafia gut in you, I hope to actually play with you more in the future!
