Hey, if I'm going to infiltrate your forum on the sly, it won't be with a fake account. I'll just call myself Long Con.

Alright, I just finished everything. It all makes a little more sense.

I reckon mafia is between Sorsha, Epi and Dom. Everybody else I have a strong reason to believe they are civ/indie.

I like how Epi has been playing all game. I think he's a civ too and I'm okay with letting paranoia die for a while.

Dom has been giving me mixed vibes, but my gut says town.

Sorsha is just coasting all game and she is a good lynch.

However, this is an inaccurate saying, as most mice are incapable of planning, and most plans of men that go awry are not the best ones. A very irresponsible man named Aesop was responsible for this and many other befuddling aphorisms (two words here meaning "confusing phrases"), sayings which continue to mislead young minds even to this day.

The best laid plans of the beachgoers so often went awry that they decided that the best course of action was to stop planning altogether. They decided to spend the day constructing a wheel containing the names of all the surviving beachgoers, then to spin it at random to decide whom to kill. Round, round, round, round, and round it went, finally landing on Quin. They circled him slowly, eyeing his frame with a vicious intensity. Ever so slowly the circle closed in around poor Quin, the bloodlust in the air truly and frighteningly palpable.

Suddenly, there was a loud crash behind them, and the group saw that Dom and Sig had pushed a bookcase on top of LC, crushing him.

LC has been lynched. He was Olivia Caliban, and a member of the Village of Fowl Devotees.

This is outrageous. I can't believe you would allow that. Truthfully, I've never before seen anything so disgraceful! What were you thinking? Does anybody ever pay attention to anything anymore? I mean my God. You should be ashamed.

Aesop never said that. Robert Burns did.

I know that Roman, he is super fun to troll and mess with. :mafia:

Night 6 - The Subaquatic Slaying

Angry mobs have a long and storied history; their early days of clubs and rocks gradually developed into the sophisticated system of torches and pitchforks which lead the field today. I myself am writing to you while hiding in a carnival tent from an angry mob who seem to have mistaken me for a pirate (a word which here means "buccaneer").

Angry mobs are generally found in areas containing people, and few places fit the bill more closely than the City. An angry mob wielding torches and pitchforks chased the beachgoers from the City, angry at the distress and annoyance the multiple deaths had caused. The beachgoers fled the city limits, and soon found themselves in a familiar location - Briny Beach.

Unsure of what to do, they decided to eat the remaining contents of the picnic basket which had accompanied the group this far. As they finished dessert (a lovely lemon meringue pie), a loud rushing sound came from the water. They looked to see that a shiny submarine had emerged, and the hatch opened, revealing a large man with a large mustache and a large voice.

"Aye!" he boomed. "I was right! There are people on the beach! Aye! Picnickers! Aye! Loiterers! Aye! A corpse! Aye! Well, don't just stand there, get on board! Not the corpse, we can't wait for him to get over here! Aye! He who hesitates is lost! Come on! In! Aboard! Down! Lengthwise! Adjacent to! Aye!"

The group, confused by what the captain meant, looked around to see that Epi had been killed, deep teeth marks enveloping his throat.

As they got on board, Count Olaf crept up behind Sorsha and pulled out a knife. He raised it to stab her, but Captain Widdershins slapped the knife out of his hand and into the water.

"No weapons aboard the Queequeg! Aye! That means no knives! Or swords! Or guns! Or rope! Rope is allowed! We could use rope! Aye!"

Epi has been killed by Sunny.
Sorsha has not been killed by Olaf.

It is now Day 7. You have 48 hours to lynch someone.

lol I'm officially lost.

Also prepare for a VFD revenge onslaught agaisnt me this phase, since I took out on of their own.

Now I can only guess we have two blockers in play, the mafia and VFD.

My hypothesis could be that the last player alive on the Troupe was Sorsha who blocked her own kill, but that seems a little bit to reachy. Plus I'd need to look at and see the rules on actions and kills. Since why kill Sorsha? that makes very little sense.

That's fascinating. I had Sunny wrong, then, and I've no idea why they would have killed Epignosis. That suggests someone who isn't paying close attention, or someone very paranoid.

But I think sig is likely on to the correct explanation for the Sorsha kill. There's no reason for Olaf to kill Sorsha, unless Olaf is Sorsha looking to self clear.

I didn't think Epi was bad, but so far seeing how many mafia has been killed by our vigs maybe they were onto something.

So right the people I view as civ cleared are
Dom
Golden
DDL
Non mafia
Jack
Quin
Could be mafia
MP
Daisy
Sorsha

linki: I mean Sunny's kills haven't made sense, but they haven't all been horrible.

A better theory is that Sorsha knew she'd be blocked by either the VFD or Poe or both. So she shot herself. I guess. Or there was some sort of redirect.

There's no reason for any of the other potential scummers to shoot at Sorsha on purpose.

Yeah, I agree. With VFD and potentially Poe out there, she could be confident of being blocked.

My understanding is game ends, and cult loses if they have not at any point had 50% or more of the people. But if cult gets to 50%, the game continues anyway. Like, the cult meeting their win condition or not meeting it has no bearing on the game ending.

Are you saying you think the cult outnumbers the town/vfd?

Or that the game would end and cult just loses.
My understanding is game ends, and cult loses if they have not at any point had 50% or more of the people. But if cult gets to 50%, the game continues anyway. Like, the cult meeting their win condition or not meeting it has no bearing on the game ending.
This is correct.

I've never played with a cult like this. HCRealms cults are almost always considered a "threat to the town" and all threats (mafias, skers, cults) must be eliminated for the town to win.

I'm also not going to engage with a case on sig, though, except to dismiss it outright. Quin is determined to put sig into incorrect roles over and over again. Sig is town through and through.

@jack - it's very unusual. I can't recall ever seeing one like this. Even cults that can win with each side usually have a kill (although, now I think this cult may have found a kill lol).

Question for Dfaraday:

Will valid role blocks lead to prevented night kills being made public to the thread, as 'Quin has not been night killed'?

At a guess, if DF doesn't come back, I suggest that blocks and protects and inherent survivals would all appear the same.

People might argue that because a role block essentially prevents a role from being used, there was no actual target of that role. Its a game-to-game thing I'd like cleared up here.

Never had the mod give the player name of a kill survivor either.

Doctoring doesn't even appear in the writeups every time so as to not give away if the mafia was blocked or not. There will just be a missing kill.

On the Sorsha thing though, I'm inclined to believe your and Sig's theory.

I hate how tinfoily it is, though. It is a huge gambit by Sorsha if it is true. But I don't see any reason for Olaf to kill the one person we are all determined to lynch, WIFOM or otherwise.

I might know what your thinking Quin and that isn't the case.

I'd think Poe targeted Sorsha, which could have blocked her aka the kill, but that's very risky.

At this point in the game it's not in the Cults best interest for the civs to win, unless they already have 50%, so we gotta watch out for that.

@Quin what two mafia members do you think are left? Since I think I agree with Golden earlier thought that Olaf is dead. I think the mafia blocker is still alive, maybe the role checker.

In theory it could be MP and Daisy who both know that Ishmael is gone so they're hinting at that, however the chances of Ishmael being gone are slim. So I'd lean towards Sorsha still.
