I was cleaning up, up four pawns and a bishop. Then I made a stupid blunder and let him take my queen and it was all over.

Karl's mind is astounding. My favorite moment from him is when they asked him what one book he would take with him if he were to be stranded on a desert island for the rest of his life. He said "the dictionary" because he figured he would be talking to himself a lot and wanted to be eloquent about it.

I like how Karl always says things are "knocking about" -- James is too posh to talk like that, but all his Manc friends do. Does anyone watch the animated version of the podcasts on HBO? They are hilarious.

Today I got to do curating after I taught the Excel class because they overbooked Reference Desk.

Curating is probably my favorite thing to do at the library. You find really old books. Like Oracle books from 1999 or calc books from 1976 and pull them. Then you go into our databases and withdraw them. Then you have to link it up so it pulls it from the online catalog too. After that, you remove the stamp card from the inside and color over the spine label with a black marker.

Finally, you desensitize the item and put them out on the free cart. Each one takes about a minute.

Oh also the custodian said hi to me and I came out of the back room to say hi back since he said my name and all and THERES NO ONE HERE AND THE DOORS ARE STILL LOCKED WHY

I jumped so high I could have been a much less graceful Air Jordan. I am 5'3" so this was really high.

It doesn't feel menacing at all though, so I'm cool with it as long as it doesn't touch me.

There was an art event around the city tonight and I was going to go and listen to some poets read their poems but I was early so I went to a bookstore and there was a person there talkging who had written a book about the histrory of drugs and I listedned for 15 minutes adn then I started to feel like fainting a bit because probabblbly there wasn't enough oxygen because there were a lot people everytwhere so I went outside and left and missed the poets.

I saw a cute goth gril who seemed to be interested in the history of opium but didn't talk to her :;((

I really need it to recharge. I never thought of myself as introverted because I'm not shy but I really prefer low key interactions and it takes me longer than most people to get lonely.

Being around people with the wrong energy (?) Really zaps me and I feel it steals my energy. Drains me like a battery. I love getting into hours long convos with people over cofffee though, where your brains are going miles a minute and you chat each other's faces off and drink a ton of coffee.

My local friends would have to shut up for 2 mins to allow me to speak and/or put away their gd phones for his to occur though.
