I love the witty banter because that is how I hope I come across IRL. Also I love that one episode is called "Norman Mailer, we have a problem."

Also "Oi with the poodles already!" is the best catchphrase ever.

I like that you called it MexMex like I did.

I think a lot of people are snobby and won't eat TexMex because it's not "authentic" but I really don't care. I like food that is tasty and TexMex is often tasty.

How the heck do you manage to eat any TexMex at all if you are vegetarian? Do you just look the other way on all the grease/lard based frying?

Usually the pintos have meat or lard in them and they keep the black beans meat-free. Everything is really labeled well down here, so we're lucky.

It wouldn't be the end of the world if I accidentally ingested some; it's bound to happen from time to time, but it will make your stomach awfully sour.

I typically get something like colache or tofu enchiladas or tostada. Sometimes a salad.

Epi - Chuck all your veggie ends into a soup and serve with a fresh baguette! You can make turkey meatballs or whatever the kids are eating these days or some protein.

Llama - I think it may be - it's perhaps "fresher"? Lots of corn and veggies, even on the non-vegetarian dishes. Can you think of a chain that is representative of TexicanTexMex? Id like to see the menu.

It's been a long time since I was in Texas. I used to go to Chuy's a lot, but it seems they have grown a lot, now being a national chain with a more modern menu than I remember. I was shocked to see three whole vegetarian entrees!

Oh okay, that looks similar to Don Pablos or On the Border. We tend to go to counter service places more than TexMex restaurants. For whatever reason, our Tex Mex has the additional Mayan or Caribbean spin (Like that Mayan place we ate at in St Augustine) because Florida can't resist being crazy.

We're headed out to Senor Taco, where you have to order in Spanish. So no Tex Mex today.

I would try any of those places you linked.

I'm trying to decide what to do so as to avoid boredom tonight.
I am watching Face Off, the tv show.

Just turned out the living room light solely to please the cat.
I stand by my opinion that Face/Off the movie is incredibly good.
I, too, enjoy that film.

One must completely ignore the concepts of bone structure, height, weight, birth marks, muscle-to-fat ratio and scent, but other than that, hell yeah!

I decided to try to get into The Handmaid's Tale but it's not going well.

It is SO GOOD

Have you seen the foreign film it's based off of? I thought you mighta since you know so much about Russian culture. It's called Gentlemen of Fortune.
I didn't even know it was based on a foreign film.

STOP HUMILIATING ME WITH YOUR MOVIE KNOWLEDGE!
It's funny, because I've seen vastly more movies than 99% of people I meet, yet you still manage to make me feel ignorant. :P

Speaking of Noir, I watched Scarlet Street with Edward G. Robinson last night. A greater depth of emotional portrayal than I've seen from him, but a depressing film overall. Let me know what you think of They Drive By Night.

I don't want to live in that universe.
