He's also expressed suspicions and that's good, but I haven't seen him trying to actually push any of his reads. every player that isn't Wilgy who starts out with a self-imposed limitation ends up dropping it as soon as it actually starts to inhibit their play.

He's expressing something that sounds like that that is far more likely to have been thought of by a scum player trying to think of their opportunities and he has implied that I was legitimately role claiming rather than fake claiming, realised it and then made that afterthought part of the post to counteract it, then he looked at his post and thought he'd done a good job cleaning it up but he hadn't unfortunately.

I don't think Mac and I having different views on things is that surprising, based on my experience playing with him. We have different approaches toward the game and especially towards reading players.

Mac himself seems more relaxed than how I'm used to seeing him so far. He seems to be making more jokes than I've seen him do before, but the jokes are still intermixed with prods of suspicion. I don't see anything in particular that sticks out about him as suspicious. Were a gun placed against my head I'd put him in the town bucket, I think.

this isn't something i've seen from Jack before. I've mostly viewed him as a seriousbusinesstype player. In a recent game there was a day phase where every almost every player was cursed at once. making cases, sharing ideas, and communicating were made significantly more difficult. I can't understand why Jack would want to recreate that struggle voluntarily.

i don't think his apparent personal challenge is alignment indicative by itself, i don't want to live in a world where players are discouraged from fucking off and play mafia using only pictures of cats or whatever, but I also don't think he should be excused if his contribution isn't what it should be.

I said as much already. People like JJJ, Sloonei, MacDougall, et al. come into a thread early and lay down some bullshit on people, and then analyze how people react.

It isn't about catching mafia. It's about generating connections among players so that when that first mafia gets lynched, they have something to look back on and find teammates.

I think MacDougall was feigning this strategy. He did it at first and now claims it was a joke. Joke or not, there is something there for him to analyze. He does not strike me as a civilian, no.
