I think Epi was blatantly town in FE. (So was Jay. Maybe I’m biased.)

That's not how statistics work. His chances of being scum in this game are the same as everyone else's. It is not dependent on previous games. I'm sure you realize that, but just clarifying for anyone who might think this is a good argument. :)

sig made a post where he used at least three instances of waffling language that was devoid of meaning. I pressed him to make meaning of them and to tell me exactly what he meant. He ignored me. When i pressed again, he said the post was snide and childish. When I pressed again, he claimed to not know what post I spoke of. His story changes and he suddenly suspects me out of it. When I said he didn't give a reason, he said "No! I said gut!!!" He went on to say that I am freaking out that he suspects me (lol) and then wanted to claim I'm leading the lynch train against dunya-- I'm not.

Sig changed his vote because no one joined him. He's squirming and looking for somewhere non-descript to vote.

I am reading things. People are citing a lack of townie behavior from Epi as justification for their votes.

Has Epi demonstrated any scum behavior, or are we just voting him for not earning townie points?

It was kinda snarky though.

I nodded in agreement when you posted it. But my memory of going after sig early in Bidoof in the GoC for similar reasons is still fresh. He just uses vague language. I don't know that that's an alignment-indicator for him. Is there more to your vote for him?

Wow you finally gave your reasoning kind off, yet still refuse to quote the post or just you know ask your question again. IF you suspect someone and they ask you to just ask your question again and you refuse to than it isn't my problem if you don't get an answer.

And claiming I changed my vote since nobody is following me just shows Dom is either tunneling to such an extreme he's not bothering to read my posts or just isn't paying attention in the game.

I've said I didn't plan to leave my vote on MP. I also said MP wasn't a solid mafia read, but a lean and that I'd probably switch off of him.

Furthermore I made it very clear that I don't want either Epi or Dunya lynched and Nova, someone who I'm okay with seeing lynched, had 2 votes.
Trying to make it out that I only switched since nobody was joining me on MP is disingenuous and just wrong.

I am roughly caught up, though I'm still missing a big chunk of the middle section of this day. I have an hour and a half to sort out my vote. I dislike the Epi case and am not in love wit the dunya wagon either. I do have a slight concern regarding dunya's read on me, but I don't think she'd pick to go after me on Day 1 as a baddie given our history together.

Why are we voting for nova?

I don't believe he's ever been mafia and is still new to mafia as a whole compared to all of us, he's also deadily as an independent and in my opinion if he's one of those three trading guys he'll side with mafia for the lolz.
But no one asked about wolbre yet. :ponder:
what are you implying? why did you choose to call sig out on this but not Sloonei for his meta-comments on Choutas/Colin/Kites from RYM a post above yours?
I'm not implying anything; I just thought it was a bit presumptuous for sig to be all like "here's some info about wolbre!" before anyone even asked. It's sig though (I love the guy but he does say things without being prompted, so it's not out of character), and I don't think there's anything meaningful there upon reflection.

So nobody here minus me have played with Wolbre, so nobody has any idea of his meta or even how he acts as a person yet its presumptuous/ping worthy that I lay out what I know about his meta? This doesn't make any sense, like of course I'm going to say things without being promoted especially when its knowledge on someone only I'd have. I've done the same thing with Glorfindel multiple times which has helped us to lynch him. It's more than just weird how you jumped at me about my read it's an early game baddie move.

The underlined portion of MP's post is also out there, it seems like disingenuous backtracking since the fish weren't biting on his read or it could be since it put him in the hot seat.

Either way as of right now MP is my biggest mafia read, so I'll be throwing down a vote there. [VOTE: MP] aubergine

I also agree the Turnip thing was a bit off, but he hasn't played mafia in a year or so correct? I expect he'd be a bit rusty and maybe not ready to just jump into a game with so many new faces. However, we should keep in mind that this is a more self preservation approach which is more common among mafia.
We're sorry, but the phrases you've used here have no discrete meaning. Please, try rephrasing your thoughts so they actually mean something.

Thank you and goodbye.

One big posts of snark, maybe this is the question he meant? But, it's not a question at all and if it was and he really really really needed me to answer it guess what he could do? Rephrase it, quote the post, or just ask it again. Which he never did he just kept going on about how I know what posts he means and I'm a baddie for not answering. Or some such nonsense.

I'm supposed to derive meaning from a post that I pointed out had no meaning in the first place?
;)

That's exactly my point. Sig had a nice way of saying absolutely nothing in multiple paragraphs. Shady.

So refuses to actually answer Dunya's question and also says my posts has no meaning when it clearly does. So instead of taking the time to figure out my post or just ask me again he stays being snarky.

In all seriousness though, why are you voting on such basic grounds? Don't you think it would be incredibly easy for me to have played a much cleaner game to date? My behaviour so far has been virtually asking for votes. Kyle even independent read me. Don't I strike you as an 'easy vote' right now?
You are a good player and I feel like you are playing with this post.

I mean that in a bad way.
How do you mean it?
You can't criticize sig for being vague and then do the same. Just because you're using less words than he is doesn't mean it's any better.

dunya wrote: Mon Apr 23, 2018 7:11 am I want to hear more about Dom. He took the time to underline and magnify superfluous words in a sig post, but not what it meant to him, why he did it and what purpose he was trying to achieve. Since you share his feelings, Mac, what does it mean?
Sig's post is full of opinions qualified by wishy washy nothing comments and consistently crafted to remain relatively non committal.
I think it's generous to say that it's full of opinions or anything besides fluff.
And you wonder why I "personally attacked" you and called you childish?
Dom wrote: Mon Apr 23, 2018 2:44 pm I addressed that actually, sig.

Unlike you.

Dom wrote: Mon Apr 23, 2018 3:02 pm sig has yet to address my problems with his post, let dunya speak for him, and then put me on his suspect list with no rationale given.
Does the same thing, he gives no reasoning, but says I'm bad.
Dom wrote: Mon Apr 23, 2018 11:37 am

My posts are amazing and filled with great things, amazing things, the best things! :srsnod:

Also I'll keep using words like odd or weird, things can be out of place and out of character, but that doesn't mean the person making the weird posts is more likely to be good or bad.

In regards to Turnip head, I found his random vote for MM weird, there's literally nothing else to add to that. It was a strange thing to do, but it seems NAI.
Feel like actually addressing my original post or ignoring it?
So again no clue what he wants me to address? Since there's nothing to address. I addressed that I use words like odd and weird if he doesn't like it than it sucks to be him.

Dom wrote: Mon Apr 23, 2018 3:12 pm
sig wrote: Mon Apr 23, 2018 3:08 pm Also Dom's reaction to me putting him as a baddie lean, yes a lean it's not like I'm saying lets lynch him right now and if we can't lynch him someone shoot him, is way over the top. Especially considering I'm not even voting for him. He's acting like a baddie that got called out for a lame/nonexistent reason and is mad about it. I'd know since that literally just happened in my last baddie game.

Great group.

So in conclusion, Dom's made no real case or point against me, refused to actual tell me what he disliked and quote his original question even though I asked him to and couldn't be bothered to read my posts and see my opinion.

It seems to be Dom's just pissy since he doesn't like the way I post, doesn't like that I didn't immediately answer his nonexistent question when I was contributing in many other more important ways, and doesn't like that I have him as a gut mafia read. He's accusing me of NO Uing if anything he's the one doing it.

Again proves my point on Dom. He has no interest in actually trying to figure out if I'm mafia or apparently even reading the thread he just wants to lynch me. Since not only have I said that I played with Nova here, but I'm pretty sure he did also. Not to mention just reading the thread and how people have interacted with Nova vs Wolbre should be able to show you that fact.

Furthermore I don't have a good enough reason to vote for Wolbre who's actively contributing, minus his NO U vote of Epi he's looking good. (Plus I invited him to TS so I'd have to be a real jerk to lynch him day 1 :P )

Dom should use context clues on players he's never met before when this is a tangled site of interwoven cultures and people form a variety of other sites.

Sig should not use context clues to suss out that I asked what he meant on the first post he flipped at me for. That's because sig is above dom and does not have to be held to the same standard. Dom is a special person who should be held to a higher standard because reasons.

I'm done talking with Dom, unless he brings up actual points against me or has something relevant to say about another player. We're getting nowhere talking and, at least in my mind, he has no interest in actually engaging me.

Sloonei I'm voting there for mainly three reasons.
Nova's been present and posted, but hasn't really said much of anything.
Looking over some games mafia!Nova lurks like they're doing now. I'd add a slightly caveat by saying civ Nova does this also, but it seems to be to a lesser degree.
I don't like the main wagons and would prefer we lynch here or find someone else.

I don't believe he's ever been mafia and is still new to mafia as a whole compared to all of us, he's also deadily as an independent and in my opinion if he's one of those three trading guys he'll side with mafia for the lolz.
But no one asked about wolbre yet. :ponder:

Good to know nonetheless. Looking forward to playing with you, wolbre!
I don't like this post its weird, light scum ping on MP
What don't you like about it ? Him calling you out ?
All of nova's game-relevant content stems from this exchange and all that was established by it was the fact that sig and nova have played a couple games together. In my experience with nova he has been quiet early in games, and he's been town each time, so I'm not alarmed that he's been a low-key figure in this one. I do want there to be more content here, though.

But here's where I'm at right now: Dunya feels genuine to me, and as was mentioned before, the fact that she's added so much to the thread gives her a civvie vibe. It would make total sense for Persians to lead a lynch against Dunya on day one. To them, she's a threat, and getting her out of the game early gives them an advantage.

With that said, I'm still hesitant to place a vote right now. I'll check back in later.
Why are you hesitant?

That's not how statistics work. His chances of being scum in this game are the same as everyone else's. It is not dependent on previous games. I'm sure you realize that, but just clarifying for anyone who might think this is a good argument. :)
You have thus far defended dunya and subtly defended Speedchuck, while I guess shining on a light of suspicion on those that would have led a lynch on dunya without naming any names.

If I hadn’t offered the olive branch on people I haven’t played with before, you would be getting my vote rIght now

In 500 words or fewer please explain your answer. Guiding questions might be: "Why did sig vote for Dom?" "Why did sig stop voting for Dom?" "Why did sig personally attack Dom, repeatedly?" "What did sig hope to accomplish by the post Dom has bemoaned?"

Thank you for your time.

To the middle point, I'd say that this is actually the most active I remember seeing nova on Day 1. I remember two previous games with him and he was almost a complete no-show on Day 1 in both of those, but got busier as the game moved on. The interaction he had with you is something that is easily faked, but not something that needs to be.

I am with you on disliking the main wagons. Do you have any thoughts on Macdougall and Long Con? They've both been around but I haven't seen much chatter one way or the other on them.
