ROUND THREE ⇹ MIDDLE RACE

FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE ~ OPEN BTSC

In Middle Race, you will be randomly given one of 11 roles, each with a unique ability, which you will use to run a race. You must finish in the middle instead of first or last. Each player will receive four Move Cards, numbered from one to four. You will submit one card during your turn, and move your piece forwards according to the number on that card. There's an 8-hour time limit to submit a Move Card or to use an ability. If you fail to submit a Move Card after 8 hours, a Move Card will be randomly selected for you. Used Move Cards are discarded, and when all four are used, they will be reset, giving you back 4 numbered Move Cards. The turn orders for the race are already given to the characters, meaning that the number 1 character will go first.

You will run the race using your abilities and move cards. Role abilities that are used on specific players cannot be used consecutively on the same player. In the event that multiple ability conditions are met at the same time, the lowest numbered role will have their ability occur first. The game will end when every player passes the finish line. The first and last place players will go to the Death Match, and the players who finished second to tenth will all receive one Garnet each.

1 Gravity
If you discard one of your Move Cards, and give up your turn, you may pick a player ahead of you and drag them to the space in front of you.

2 Reset
Whenever your piece moves backwards, you will pick another player and reset their move cards.

3 Push
You can’t be in the same space with other characters. If you are on the same space as another character, you must choose to push them 1 space forward or back.

4 Delete
When you are moved by another character’s ability, you will pick a player and eliminate all of their Move Cards except for one, forcing them to move a certain distance the next round.

5 With
When you move with your last remaining Move Card, you will pick a player to move as much as you do.

6 Union
You pull any players one space ahead of you back to your space.

7 One
When a “1” card is used during another player’s turn, you may move 1 space forward or back.

8 Mirror
When you are moved by another character’s ability, you will pick a player to move the same amount in the opposite direction.

9 Jump
When you move with your own Move Card, you will jump over spaces with other characters in them. You will also get an extra “0” Move Card, and you may reset your cards when you have two remaining in your hand.

10 Silence
Before submitting a move card during your turn, you will pick a player and disable their ability until your next turn.

11 Quick
You can move double the amount of every Move Card. However, you may only use up to 2 cards out of each hand of Move Cards to move forwards. The other cards must be used to move backwards.

The easiest solution for me is to use a Google Spreadsheet that is publicly visible. If anyone has an issue using Google Sheets, or if this doesn't work, please let me know, and an alternative method of displaying the race status will be found. The number of Move Cards each player has will also be publically shown on this spreadsheet.

You refresh your cards when you use them. The race ends when 10/11 make it over the finish line.

That depends on the ability. As Union, your ability is always active. If you're on, say the {2} square, and four players are on the {3} square, all four of them would be pushed back to {2}.

Other abilities work differently. Some, like Reset, Delete, and Mirror are activated when they are moved by other players. Gravity and Silence can be activated at the start of their turn. Others activate when certain Move Cards are played.
