Haha, okay. I see you there struggling to find a reason to point a finger at me.
I don't need a reason to point a finger at you. I could just... not point a finger at you.

I'm pointing a finger at you because I felt a different vibe from you. I'm not sure if that vibe means something but I have to say it.

But seriously this post below? It comes from a wolf.

Random voting stage.

Random voting, semi random voting, joke voting, reaction voting and following the most minor suspicions until these things generate enough content to actually do real hunting.
Eh no I hate this argument.

Yeah I know rvs is a thing, despite not knowing the term before.

Votes are never truly random though, we always make them for a reason, however shallow it may be.

You gave no reason, and when I asked for one, you replied with the old "day 1 is useless why are you asking me to do work" rethoric.

If you just made a joke vote and explained it, or if you made a vote for a shallow reason, it would be fine, but it feels like you are going out of your way to be obstructive. This isn't civilian logic.
Leetic is right. This is a bad reason to vote that is typical of wolves.

Townies do vote players they don’t actually suspect in rvs. Townies don’t vote players with intent to lynch for doing so. I’ve never seen DDL hate on early semirandom voting with this kind of certainty before. He’s faking, here.

Ftr, my vote on Mac was not random but also I didn’t scumread him. Out of the players who had posted at the time, I had (however flimsy) some reason to townread most of them but no reason to townread Mac. So I voted there to see what would happen and what happened was DDL got caught being scummy.

I never said D1 was useless.

I have to go to work now so I'm going to have to narrow down who I want to vote for this afternoon when I get home. I have a few people in mind I won't vote for but no one that I'm convinced should get my vote - yet. See you guys later.

I realize this is problematic if Luna is scum and it doesn’t do anything to make people think I’m town but whatever. Luna does tend to scumread me when we are both town for gut reasons. I don’t have a problem with her vote beyond it making me more likely to be lynched.

Oh really? Cuz I could show you a bunch of examples of myself defending people as a civ. I do that regardlessly of alignment. It's good practice to defend other players.

And in this case I'm not specifically defending Mac. I'm agreeing on a point he made about you.

You have only played one game with me, where I was bad. And now you are trying to use that as statistical evidence on how I act as bad, when you have never played a game with me as a civ before. So you have no idea how I play as a civ.

Protip: you can only make meta reads on people when you can have multiple games to compare to each other. Otherwise you are just giving yourself confirmation bias.

Luna, this isn't very convincing and maybe you didn't mean it to be but would you at least share what specifically you see about Jack that disturbs you?
Sure, things that made me go, "hmmm, is Jack bad?":

1. Violently disagrees with my very rational Nova opinion:
Jackofhearts2005 wrote: Sat Mar 30, 2019 7:19 pm
Lunalee wrote: Sat Mar 30, 2019 7:17 pm Yeah, I don't hate Nova's random day 0 GTH. It's fun.
I hate it. Let’s burn it.
2. Then completely back tracks on said Nova opinion in favor of Mac. Why Mac? Jack doesn't say at the time of his vote.
Jackofhearts2005 wrote: Sun Mar 31, 2019 12:59 am Whomp whomp.

I'm actually not that inclined to vote for Nova today. I like him being firey. It's helped the town when he's town. If he's not? Let's see if he hangs himself with it.

I like Luna's tone. Obligatory "I suck at reading Luna."

Why don't I [VOTE: Mac] aubergine.
3. Then Jack claims his vote on Mac wasn't "actually" a scum read (speed claimed that actually is a scumtell, which is interesting. I'm waiting to hear more)

It’s rvs and Mac’s a big boy that doesn’t need your help.

You (or Juliets) actually think I scumread Mac from one post?
4. Later claims his Mac vote was merely "for the heck of it"

5. Then Jack makes this case on DDL, who was the one giving him the most grief for his Mac vote. Almost like a once-removed NO U vote.

The question is, does DDL never hate on "random" day 1 votes when he's town? Because if not, Jack may actually have a point. But to answer juliet's question, my I placed my vote on jack because I didn't like his jumpy play style and random Mac vote.

Jackofhearts2005 wrote: Sun Mar 31, 2019 2:39 pm You (or Juliets) actually think I scumread Mac from one post?
What is the purpose of this word in the sentence? Without 'actually' in there, the sentence reads:
"You or Juliets think I scumread Mac from one post?" which is a question.

Putting in "actually" turns this question into an attack on their alignment or reasoning, one of the two. It insinuates that either DDL/Juliets don't believe what they are saying (therefore scum)... or they do, and that it's ridiculous. Painting their inquiry as scummy or ridiculous is an aggressive, defensive measure that pushes them to back off and shuts down the line of inquiry without actually answering their query.

In short, it's an unnecessary word that comes from a possibly-bad and blustery perspective. I see this post and hear a ten-year-old Overwatch player yelling into the microphone "You actually think this is my main account? You're seriously stupid if you think this Silver account is my main account. I'm actually ranked Diamond."

I get the “interesting” tell. “Interesting” isn’t good or bad. It’s saying something without really saying anything. It calls attention to something without weighing in. A townie may still say something is interesting but there is a reason to believe a wolf would be more inclined to use the word.

Idk why Speed thinks “actually” is a thing scum say more than townies.

I can't really make a good read off of one post but I didn't see anything I really didn't like or thought was off, though there were some I didn't understand. I'll go one by one though:

nova - your post "hello" looked fine to me though I would expect someone to bring up the emoji scum tell.
Mac - I don't know what "I'm ready to fudge" means but I figure its probably just some Aussie slang for "ready to go".
leetic - his post made me smile, I'm glad the depression is better. No problems with his entrance.
Jack - pictures of Wednesday with instruments of death. Not sure what this means other than maybe role hinting. Maybe he just means let's get us a baddie. Did not make me suspicious of him.
sable - looked like typical sable to me, so looked fine.
speedchuck - "nova is scum" too early for me to believe this is real but seems in line with the way we play these days and your GTH pre-entrance thing which I kind of got a kick out of.
DDL - talked of drinking the potion and liked the story. Didn't see anything wrong with this post either.
Luna - just got here, read nothing yet. It was typical Luna and I didn't see a problem.

So, not much there in the first posts for me - what about you? What did you think of the first posts.
I would scumread this post if it were unprompted.

Mac - missing
nova - good
sabie - bad

If we lynch scum once early on, we'll end up having four lynches. I only need to remove one person from this POE.

novaselinenever wrote: Sat Mar 30, 2019 8:51 pm That's fair. If you had to comment on each player's entrance, what would your thoughts be?

:confused2: I'm doubly confused by this post.
how is that confusing? When someone puts a nice read list out early without generating much discussion before hand, it looks like they may just be doing it to look good.
She was asked to do that specifically. How does it look good? Or how does it look bad?

No but he hasn’t done anything else so. :shrug2:

JoH - playing inconsistently inconsistent, reminds me of don't-care-me from that other game I was in. But I was scum that game. Maybe scum.
juli - good
leet - good
Luna - Maybe scum.
Mac - missing
nova - good
sabie - bad
speed - good

POE: Sabie, DDL, JoH, Luna, Mac

If we lynch scum once early on, we'll end up having four lynches. I only need to remove one person from this POE.
speed I can understand your ratings except for sable and Mac. Are you reading sable bad because she hasn't been around or is there something about one of her two posts that makes you suspect her? Mac seems like the same Mac I saw in Always Sunny in the beginning. I'm not saying that must mean he's good but I haven't seen anything from him that says "bad".

Also, I have a splitting headache for some reason so I'll be back after I take something and lay down for a bit.

Sometimes it will naturally come out, but it can be contained if we just remember that this is a game on a message board forum that 99.99% of the population of the Earth has never heard of before. No matter how successful anyone is, it means just about nothing.

Same here on the headache, but I'm pretty sure it's the wisdom tooth.

I read Sabie bad because her only contribution, as I can tell, was an unprompted nothingburger of pseudo-reads.
I didn't read Mac as bad though. :confused2: Why did you assume I read Mac bad?
