It’s a tag on the vote function so you can ctrl+f aubergine to see where people voted

If they did so in thread
Except it doesn't work, so all these little tiny aubergines are meaningless.
it works fine for me???

[VOTE: Sabie] aubergine

Let's get some obvscum out of the way.

Would also happily lynch sprityo.

LC, Epi, Creature, TSP and Sloonei town til proven otherwise.

I am ignoring cases, voting or trolling against me in this game. Deal with that as you please. Like I am not going to spend a second defending myself. I am only solving.

So mac has given up on defending himself or making cases on people he accuses? Or does that not even need to happen anymore because in games I've played lately it seems like people don't have to bother to give reasons anymore. Every time I think mac is bad because he's given up and doesn't care I end up being wrong so I dont know.

As of right now I don't know for sure. I have such a hard time making reads day 1. The exchange between creature and epi was interesting but I thought that about creature and another player before and everyone was like oh that's not weird and they weren't bad so I don't know. Could they be teammates? Maybe but I feel like they wouldn't be that obvious about it.

I feel like Jack and spirityo are usually more quick to go around making accusations and getting people to talk but have been more cautious this day 1. BWT also was quick to say vote epi but didnt and hasnt said much other than that they didnt know if they checked in.

We have yet to hear from oreki colin and dragomir

I dont think I've ever played with TSP before so I dont have anything to go on. Sloonei and LC seem like they're usual selves at this point.
Glorfindel seems to be making an effort to follow Jimmy's guide and be like a super civ. Could be an effort to make sure they seem as civ as possible when maybe they aren't.
Sometimes life does seem all planned out, like there's no choice in the matter. But that's just an illusion.

I'm glad my vote provoked some content Sabie.

However here's what I see in it.

Player salad. Hitler tell (mild accuse > play your own devil's advocate > outcome null). Interesting tell (mafia say interesting when they don't want to provoke). Forcing reads just to make the post look more exhaustive. Hell you even felt the need to point out three no shows which looked like an attempt to turn what was a rambling salad into a full game read.

Note to civs: If Sabie flips scum her refusal to offer a read on TSP because she has no meta stands in contrast to the fact that she made a non meta analysis of Creature/Epignosis. Very strong chances of TSP mafia if sabie mafia.

Also what's with picking on Glorfindel who is never Mafia. He subs out when he rolls mafia. It is known.

Anyone want to tell me why we shouldn't lynch Sabie today?

Sabie if you are a civilian I will find you. Just keep pushing past me and finding Mafia. Hot tip, I am obviously a civilian here.

Sabie I would appreciate if you tried a bit harder to read TSP. I can't accept that you can't offer thoughts on him given you've offered more on players who have provided less, even non meta reads.

What do you think is his motivation behind asking me about Jack?

I ‘seem’ to be making an effort to follow Jay’s guide on how to Town? You aren’t certain of that when I’ve made it crystal clear for everyone to see that that is PRECISELY what I’m doing this game? Interesting :ponder: Might be time to move my vote...

I hear you, my friend but isn’t life a gamble? Every breath you take is a roll of the dice. You can’t know from one minute to the next how things will play out. Sure, you can live under the illusion that you have things under control but do you REALLY? I don’t mean to come off as anyway depressive - I’m just pointing out there’s no need to fear something that is a reality for all of us, all the time.

It means without much care
Why stop at gay?

Do it with gay AND reckless abandon
I understood that both adjectives had very similar meanings in that context? It’s been a long time, Sprityo. How have you been? Any thoughts on the significant posters so far?

Nothing to go on?!? I said like half a dozen things.
Analysis in less words than Mac: a lot of hedging. Too many words for no real scum accusation.
A general tell especially early is that mafia makes town reads and that town makes scum reads within this kinda context and this seems clear of that but clear in the sense that every analysis was “this seems suspicious I wonder what I think about that will you please tell me what I should think about it”

This is sort of off topic but

on defending yourself (in response to the first paragraph):

some people do it always when they’re town and less when they’re mafia cause they get upset if they get mislynched
some people do it never when they’re town and sometimes when they’re mafia cause then they can point to specific townie behaviors they threw in and they feel like they have more of a stake as mafia
I’m (almost) never going to make a read on the degree to which a player defends themself from any cases made against them without meta knowledge

This doesn’t necessarily pertain to this game just wanted to make a strategy judgment

:hugs: What are your first impressions of this game, Mr Glorf?
I’m pleased you asked, my friend! It seems a rather slow start (which probably means very little). As I remarked earlier, I’m doing different stuff this game. Yes, I appreciate that I will fumble around and appear somewhat clumsy and awkward but I trust that everyone here might at least attempt to see that through the lens of someone working to master their craft.

As far as the game goes, Jay recommends throwing my vote around - so I threw it at Epi to see how he and everyone would react. I do find his response perplexing. He totally brushed it off (which is perfectly fine because he too, is a highly competent player likely familiar with what I’m doing) but from past experience of him, I think I’d have expected something more umm, confronting/condescending/sarcastic? Then again, it’s been a long time and we’ve probably both mellowed some since then. Other than that, there’s not that much to go on... Creature seems a little disoriented. TonyStark seems very helpful. Long Con seems his OK, coming at me for reasons that are part silly (me not having an avatar) and part ill-informed (which given my subsequent post explaining my approach to this game he should now not be).

Did you have any observations to make yourself, Master Sloonei?
Our people respect those who try new strategies. That said, when one implies that one is merely fishing for reactions, the exercise rather loses its power, no?

1. I suppose you're right.
2. Die, scum!

I have none on sabie.

I'm inclined to think Mac is civ if he's already open about not defending cases against himself. Feels more civ to me to be more lackadaisical/carefree about such a thing. But part of me wants to vote for him D1 too to test the theory/generate discussion about it.

I just took it as him playing along with a game mechanic from Fallout for funsies. But I could be wrong.
No, it's a link in JJJ's sig.

Huh? I don't understand your post.

Gay abandon?
It means without much care
Why stop at gay?

Do it with gay AND reckless abandon
I understood that both adjectives had very similar meanings in that context? It’s been a long time, Sprityo. How have you been? Any thoughts on the significant posters so far?
Pretty good thank you

I’ve been interacting with LC. And am having a hard time grasping why he just doesn’t do it my way. Albeit more difficult. It works

Other than that I haven’t looked into the game yet. I promise I won’t do what I did in Arrowverse this game so just let me check it out tonight before the poll ends

I think either one of them could be bad because they're both acting weird but I'm really not familiar with either of them or their play style. Mac has been uncharacteristically quiet this game.

I don't think she is. But her facepalm-inducing reaction came off as someone trying to make a whole lot out of nothing. Same with Sokoth tbh.
No I just thought it was a weird way of saying things. Saying we're both town. Idk maybe that's what people say to say I have a town read on someone while also defending yourself and I've just never seen that before.

I'm willing to vote creature or indiglo.

sabie, you say you think either of them could be bad because they are both acting strange but then go on to say you're not familiar with either of them or their play style. I just don't understand that at all. Strange as compared to what? Also, I would think you would know by now but maybe you've missed it, Mac is from the other side of the world and is asleep during the day when we are all posting. He's always quiet during the day, it's not uncharacteristic.

I wasn't accusing mac just saying he usually posts more in general that's all. I know hes in a different time zone.

I just meant I thought the interaction and wording of things was weird but I dont know if they're always like that. Like it seems weird to me but maybe that's just how they usually talk. Like how they don't know how I usually play and that I have a hard time coming up with a lot of reads initially.
Every time I try to I am judged very harshly saying I dont have good enough reasons or explanations when its day 1 and theres not a lot to go on.

Hey sabie. Let's start with the players you know best: what do you think of Epi, nutella, juliets, and me so far?
Well you are doing what you normally do in making long posts getting people talking asking questions etc which has a lot of times been town sloon. I feel like you and nutella have had a back and forth thing in some games before. She's usually kinda back and forth on things so I find her hard to read. Juliets is always so nice so shes hard to read too. Epi appears to be his usual self at the moment.
You left out some other people I usually play with. jack who I feel like is doing his usual town jack stuff at the moment where he posts a lot of random stuff. That time he was bad he was way more calm and reserved it seemed.
I always tend to think mac and speed are bad which is probably unfair of me.
The newer people I think are just kinda trying to work out how we play on this site.
Still dont feel like I have solid reads for sure about people but I'm trying to keep up with everything. This day 0 has been crazy.
sabie12 wrote: Mon May 20, 2019 1:57 am Hey I was busy dying a horrible death in better off Ted mafia so now that that's over I'm back over here.
From the people who currently have votes wilgy is iffy because I remember leading an accidental mislynch on him on another game for acting how he is now. Drogomir idk them I'll have to read a bit more from them. Sloonei seems like normal town sloonei as of right now
Nutella is always kinda back and forth and I've seen her and sloonei go back and forth before like that but I dont think they were teammates.
Lux I can see where the suspicion came from there. The wording of their posts and that comment about the mafia teams was a little suspect.
Juliets I would have to read again as I don't recall what she's even said so far.
And now as I was typing sloonei changed the vote to ultra. Is that due to all that mechanics talk ik the beginning trying to get the cop role to out themselves?
sabie12 wrote: Mon May 20, 2019 3:23 pm Out of the people currently with votes I think my suspicions are more towards lux.
Nutella is iffy and difficult to read because she is often pretty wishy washy as people said but I think right now I feel worse about lux.
I dont think cooler has really said much of anything and ultra idk I just figured they're new and trying to figure out how we do things.
I will take a look at some of the other people mentioned as well and reread lux iso.

Also I think I saw juliets you have been having a hard time I do hope you're okay!
I've had some stuff come up irl as well that has held me back from participating as much as I'd like to. My uncle unfortunately passed last week so I've had some family stuff going on.

This seems conclusive and I’ll support that lynch.

This’ll be my last post (maybe depending on how busy work is) of the phase so a few notes.

Spirtyo and JOH are both suspicious for the same reasons but I’m reading scum on the former and town on the latter.

I’ve got a nasty feeling about LC and I don’t know why Mac is including him as likely Town because that is not the vibe I’m getting at all.

Mac, Epi, sloonei strongest town reads
If sabie flips town they’re still fine but it’ll call Epi into question more for doing the work and jumping on the lunch.

Glorf is throwing me off but GTH town just on probability

I had one more but I forgot it

Glorfindel asked me for my thoughts. I didn't share them. I will share them now. Asking myself how everyone has looked in the early early stages of this game.

birdwithteeth - Mixed feelings so far. He's had a few casual posts and a few reads that look hasty and underwhelming (Glorfindel & lack of Sabie, but he has at least played with a notable direction in his game. I know what his thoughts are even if I can't say whether or not I believe them yet.

Creature - Looks good. Seems like he's trying to orient and assert himself in (relatively) new surroundings. He was my first town read and that status hasn't changed.

Epignosis - Epi's being shticky so far, but he's poking people with his shtick and wielding it as a weapon rather than a crutch. Tentatively looking good.

Glorfindel - He is being upfront that he's following a particular model of play for Day 1 here. That would be a bold approach for scum Glorf, especially in his first game back in some time. Nothing about the responses I've read from him sets off any red flags. Feeling moderately good.

Jack - Has done nothing. Jack being a goober, especially early on, hasn't ever been a reliable scum tell. But I wouldn't lean on it heavily as a town tell either. I'll default to a slight scum lean because Days are only 24 hours here and we need to pick up the pace.

Long Con - The king of the Short Post this game is Long Con. His early ISO is filled with one-liners. I don't know what that means. Perhaps he's just playing this game off the cuff, firing off thoughts as they come up to him. I feel mildly good about him his indifference toward my vote for him last night.

The Macster - Mac's posts from his Sabie vote on have looked good. Mac's got a fire under him and he's pursuing his convictions. In a thread that's been pretty listless, I am inclined to feel good about a player who tries to change that.

Sabie - I like the direction of mac's case on her. Sabie's one long post was a salad with a few too many shrugs. I feel like sabie gets suspected for this too much, but that concern doesn't absolve her of anything here. She produces a lot of words in this post without producing that many reads.

sprityo - This is the key post in sprit's ISO so far I think. He set himself up as a virtual town-clear on Day 2 in Arrowverse but that just farted around the rest of the game. He's vowed not to do that here, and is evidently making an effort in this post to be transparent about his reads. I like that, but the content he has provided so far is not nearly strong enough to earn a much-coveted Town Read From Sloonei. I wouldn't campaign for sprit's lynch, but I wouldn't exactly defend him right now either.

TonyStarkPrime - He was my second town read after Creature. I think I've maybe played once or twice with Iron Man? If not, I've at least seen him in games before. But much like Creature, he seemed like a player who was trying to orient himself in a relatively new setting early on. He offered us some reads and even a vote without being prompted to do so when the game was still getting off its feet and has only increased his pace as we've gone on. In a game as stagnant as this one so far, any genuine effort is a good look on Day 1.

Players I did not look at because they do not seem to have posted at all:

Dragomir
Oreki

I seem to recall Dragomir had to drop out of two games simultaneously recently because of internet troubles? That could be problematic here. Colin's usually around though. I've never met Oreki. Any of these three players could have drawn any role card.

Conclusion: Dayum.
This feels like most of my mafia record too! Either I make it to endgame or I'm dead by Night 2!

Solidarity yo. :omg:

Also I get the "some people are wordier when good/bad" thing. But I don't feel like I have enough of a history with sabie (I know I do from awhile back but this is my second mafia game after a 2-3 year break), so it's something I'll keep in the back of my mind. But not enough yet to want to vote for her.

Are those sabie's six most recent games?
