I think we should go for a no lynch on day one.

Thoughts?
someone like TheLlama would probably vote for you just to prove a point.

Reported for illegal BTSC. Oh yeah, the mods are totally gon get ya.
How is that illegal BTSC and not a legitimate question?

Yes, the game is still ongoing, but it's referencing something from the very beginning of the game, and his alignment is unknown there. It was out of curiosity more than anything.
He's just screwing with you dude. I was joking about the length of one of the night in irc and he threated to Call MR on me

Well, first off, I wasn't serious... I think you'd know if I reported your post :p

Still, you're asking about his behavior in an ongoing game where his alignment is still unknown. Whatever happened in the other game, alignment is a factor. Just rather we didn't get into that.

linki @ Made: what makes you think I didn't report you? :noble:

Personally, I don't like the no lynch option. I have played a few games with it, and it just feels like a way to avoid accountability for your votes. In one of those games we lynched a civvie on Day Two instead, iirc. You waste a whole day talking, and you learn nothing from it, especially since we don't reveal NKed roles. IMO you wind up with what is effectively 2 Day Ones in a row, where people take votes for trivia, and it delays real talk of suspicions. Although the game design is a bit different here, so not sure what Rox & DP may have in mind.

The initial set up with no revealed roles seems at first a bit like K-Site, which DOES have a no lynch. BUT I think she had this game set up with no revealed roles prior to her playing at K-Site (although I could have that wrong).

I agree with this. I've never played or even seen a game with a no lynch option but I don't think it'd be a good move. I also feel like you'd probably get a lot of blendy people voting no lynch as often as they could just to avoid being made accountable for anything.

Good points. Specifically the part about making two day ones and basically building in hiding option.

I'm kinda tempted to do the math and see what's optimal and why...

Stand with SVS and Bullz. Lynching is litterally the only tool the civvies have to get rid of baddies. We'd be follish to waste it. It effectively just gives the mafia a free kill, and we get none of the good information that comes from voting records.

And yes, everyone knows me well. Even if no votes resulted in no lynch, I would vote anyway and ruin it, so you'd just be giving me unilateral authority to decide who dies.

The times I've seen no lynch used in a game there was another factor - it took a certain number of votes to lynch someone. So someone could not come in with one vote and lynch someone if others voted no lynch. I don't think there is any way we could do no lynch here without that additional rule. I'm not advocating no lynch, in fact I don't like it for much the same reason as SVS said. I do however want to give Made a pat on the back for suggesting something new and different.

Sometimes it will naturally come out, but it can be contained if we just remember that this is a game on a message board forum that 99.99% of the population of the Earth has never heard of before. No matter how successful anyone is, it means just about nothing.

Some people are leaders. Others are followers. If some people want to win by sitting back and doing nothing, they can, but that's not how I play, which means I will sometimes be wrong about people.

by math i mean "logic". Like how many baddies there would need to be and how many goodies there would need to be where a no lynch would make sense. like if a civvie killed by mafia is worth more or less than a civvie killed by them.
I know what you meant :)

But we know 1 number, "25". Anything else is speculation. Besides we don't even know if the hosts will allow it.

I think we know more than that one number. For example, I would be pretty confident in asserting that there are not 34 mafia members and one civilian.

I don't want to live in that universe.

I feel pretty confident in claiming there definitely aren't 34 of anything given we only have 25 players.

Roxy and DP: Are you going to put all polls in the polls thread or just lynch polls?

I'm asking about the poll thread. Maybe you havent seen it Enrique. Here, the hosts post the polls in a separate thread so you dont have to worry about the poll going down before you can get a picture of it. My question about polls had nothing to do with Dana. I posted in the sign-up thread just to tell Dana to go here, and Dana i think your idea is a good one.
