When shrines have different powers between players, one tends to be “powerful” while the other is..like...learning what kind of boots they’re wearing.
KZA’s shrine gave them a 1 shit random ability. This one...makes sense or at least lines up with my theory, because that ability is ass

Not even necessarily ill willed dangerous. I am moderately convinced the 3P is the mysterious vig...probably accessing Molag Ball's shrine every third night and using the mace to kill someone. Who they kill is probably driven by their own wincon and they might kill someone in the POE, maybe a mafia, but if their wincon requires targeting a particular race and the only one of that race they know of is one of our towniest towns...too bad town. Plus if they win they are likely to just disappear themselves and that is an extra elimination also.

Bottom line if everything goes wrong we can find ourselves at SoD8 with an "it's 2-2, congrats wolves" notice staring us in the face and all we control between now and then is two chops.

The OP seems to imply, to my understanding, that the 3P can achieve their win con before the game ends (and it wouldn't end the game), and that they may be someone we have to eliminate before, but not after that happens.

Artifact destroyed on achieving win con is where I am getting the concern that the 3P can just win and disappear. So if we start N7 at 4-2-1 and the wolves kill a town and the 3P kills a different town AND disappears that makes it 2-2 SoD and that's game.
