About the game:
- This is an experimental setup which uses different rooms on Discord as it's main mechanical feature.
- There will be only two factions: Town and Mafia. They will each have traditional wincons of mutual destruction.
- There will be a Town Leader (Evelyn Wang) and a Mafia Leader (Jobu Tupaki). The two players given these roles will be publicly announced at the beginning of the game.
- The game is designed for 20 or more players.
The multiverse:
There will be multiple servers on Discord representing different universes.
Every game day each player decides what universe to jump to for the night. Players may choose to gather in one or a few universes, or to venture out on their own if they dare. Every universe has a different effect, action or quirk. Once one or more players (beyond Jobu Tupaki, who is everywhere) are present in a universe, the universe is activated for the night. Many of the verses have votable actions, which means that the decision of an action is decided by majority of votes by the players present in the universe. The voting will be done in private, but the discussion may take place publicly in the universe. Be aware that Jobu Tupaki is in every universe, always has a vote, and is the favoured party in the event of a tie, except if there is a counter vote from Evelyn Wang. You will not know the effect of a universe before you have visited that particular universe (or someone tells you about it). The content and effect of any particular universe will be constant throughout the game. However, universes can be destroyed and new ones created by the Leaders of each faction.
*Note that being alone in a universe will always be very risky as the universe will activate and Jobu Tupaki will be favoured in any potential votable action.
There will only be three special roles in the game:
Jobu Tupaki, Mafia Leader
Welcome, [player name], you are Jobu Tupaki, the Mafia Leader. You see all, you know all! In fact, you experience everything everywhere all at once. Cool, right? Well... it's kind of an existential mindfuck, but we'll get to that later. Right now (or all at once), it's about destroying town!
As Jobu Tupaki, you will have access to every game related discord server representing the different unique universes. You will also have access to the mafia chat at all times to talk to and coach your mafia team.
You are able to cast your vote in or make use of the effect of any active universe.
Each night, you may elect to destroy one universe and create one new universe. You can pick a new universe from a list of options, but you will only know the name of the universe before you create it. You do not have to take these actions, however, if you choose to destroy a universe, you will always have to create one new one as well.
You cannot be killed until all other mafia are dead.
Evelyn Wang, Town Leader
Welcome, [player name], you are Evelyn Wang, the Town Leader. You are trying to see all, you are trying to know all! Actually, you never really asked for any of this. But while you're here, you might as well make the most of it, and destroy Juju Chewbacca and her loyal followers.
As Evelyn Wang, you are able to stay in several universes at the same time. You will be able to be in the number of universes equal to the number of the current phase in the game. For example, on Night 3, you may be present in three different universes at the same time. But you cannot be in more than five universes at the same time, or else you will puke your guts out and faint dramatically.
You are able to cast your vote in or make use of the effect of any universe you are a part of.
If you die, you will be able to destroy two universes and open up two new ones.
Waymond Wang, Town Compulsive Doctor
Welcome, [player name], you are Waymond Wang, Town Compulsive Doctor. You only know one thing: We must be kind!
You have a compulsive protection targeted at Evelyn Wang, day and night, as long as you are alive in the game.
- All others role will be Vanilla, either Vanilla Town or Vanilla Mafia.
- There will be around 20+ % Mafia in the game.
