$100 on the extra die if the bid from TH earlier will count (for 60 + 25, being unbolded and not an exact amount).

Linki: Why don't you like the the little game Mongoose? You are ruining the fun where other people are even bidding on Epi, llama, and me.
You failed. :)

Well, this is how I feel now.

Won't that just "kill" anyone wanting to bid on property however? If you know you will just be NK'd for it?

The only way to get around it would seem to be bidding at night and then selling it to someone else. But then you'd have to be vocal about it being gone. Idk, this seems like a tricky way for baddies to get all the lynched properties as well.

Night 1 End/Day 2 Start: The One Who Opens the Door

Pennsylvania Railroad: “Who are you talking to right now? Who is it you think you see? Do you know how much I make a year? I mean, even if I told you, you wouldn't believe it. Do you know what would happen if I suddenly decided to stop going into work? A business big enough that it could be listed on the NASDAQ goes belly up. Disappears! It ceases to exist without me. No, you clearly don't know who you're talking to, so let me clue you in. I am not in danger. I am the danger! A guy opens his door and gets shot and you think that of me? No. I am the one who knocks!”

*Pennsylvania Railroad knocks on SVS door*

BOOM

Rest of thread: “BITCH!”

SVS has been killed by Pennsylvania Railroad. Thanks for playing!
It is now Day 2. You have 48 hours to lynch someone.
Updated board
Board movements

Powers available for bidding:
1st) Send a player to jail (Allows the player who uses it to send 1 player of their choice to jail) - $50 start
2nd) Silent Auction (The player who gets this power can make three auctions of their choice done privately instead of publicly. They receive half of the winning bid in the first auction, a third of the winning bid in the second auction, and a quarter of the winning bid in the third auction. They may not place bids in the auctions they make private. In power auctions, the most expensive power sold is the one they get money for). $150 start
3rd) Protect (Can be used to protect a person of your choice at night if you pick during a day, and remove a person of your choice from being on the lynch poll if used at night) - $50 start
4th) Auto-Find a Partner (Exactly what it sounds like) $250 start

RIPIYWG SVS. I didn't have much of a read on you yet. Or at all really.

I was going to bid on the Auto-Find a Partner power, but given some people are against us finding partners, I might hold off on that one for now.

I will, however, raise the opening bid for one of the other options.

Bid $175 on Silent Auction

No. I just haven't made up my mind yet is all. And for now, I'm betting on the one I feel best about.

Although I also haven't ruled out trying to bet on both...

RIP SVS. I feel the chances are very high that you were good and that you were knocked out because of your bid.

boo - you forgot to put in Made's roll on the pastebin info or did he not have a roll for some reason?

I'll think about bidding for something tomorrow.

Single master list, plus leaving it there so a number isn't missing makes more sense to me. Sorry if it's confusing (I guess the strikeout doesn't carry over?).

Well, I just don't comprehend why either of them would feel that way about you on Day 1. How on earth can Turnip Head say with any minute degree of certainty that he thinks you're not a baddie? It makes no sense to me, and I thought that maybe those two might want to respond to NinjaBloooper's comment, since they cleqarly disagree with it. Maybe they can teach Bloop and I something we don't know about Mafia.

"A minute degree of certainty." What a funny utterance.

On another note: Once Made blew it, how many would-be freunde would have jumped at the opportunity to get that lucrative railroad card?

LC I get the feeling you're trying to create some friction out of nothing. What's wrong with me saying that I don't think Epi is bad, and how does such a statement lead you to conclude that I'm better at mafia than you? Do you not have a read on anyone yet?

You must think Epig's game is pretty transparent and easy to figure out if you can say you think he's not bad in the middle of Day One. I've always found him to be the type of player who enjoys having a few layers of obfuscation in the things he does, so as to intentionally be hard to read.

Do you have a good history of correct Day One reads on Epig? I'm just interested to know how you came to that conclusion about him, and why you think it's right.

I applaud your excellent vocabulary, sir. And I am in agreement with this notion - Epi even prides himself on not having a "style," except that his style is avant-garde. Unpredictable. Or at least fucking hard to read Day 1. And 2. And several days after. So I wonder where this trust comes from, too. I'm not saying I think he's bad at this point - I'm saying, like you seem to be saying, that he's not necessarily GOOD, either. I would also like to know why others are so keen to trust him so early.

Also, RIP SVS :( You are dying too early lately and I do so enjoy playing with you!

I've correctly called Epi's alignment before, even on Day 1. Not saying I'm infallible but I've played a lot of games with the guy and I've picked up on a thing or two.

I also like to think I can read Elo pretty well and I'm curious to hear Epi's thoughts in her so far.

Following through on my thoughts in the post-lynch post. Didn't want to make overt accusations at the start of night. I think that elohcin is Made's teammate. Even if they didn't have BTSC yet, Made had clearly made a slip, and elo was trying to prevent the lynch on the chance that they would, indeed, gain BTSC and be teammates.

So, I think Elo was trying to deflect attention away from Made and towards others, and stopping the growing opinion against Made.
LoRab wrote:And sometimes, baddies do slip. Nice catch, all! Let it never be said that there's no such thing as a baddie slip.

Forgot the lynch was ending. So sorry for missing the vote.

At this point? No.
Thanks BR. I don't either.
Sounds like severe distancing. I don't have much more time to catch up and I think this is a pretty good suspicion for a Day 1 vote, so... *votes Juliets*

limki: and now she is bandwagoning IMO
Sounds to me like 2 people who have played several games together over the years seeing where the other stands. And is it really jumping on a bandwagon if the person is actually bad and slipped up, fairly blatantly (I will make a chubbz/vanilly/smells like danhm reference here for the 5-ish players that might chuckle at that). I have no read on either of them, but I don't think this exchange makes them look bad.

Would have likely voted Made, btw. Especially after this post:
Made wrote:God damn it... Got home exhausted, caught up and said what I was thinking before hopping into homework. I didn't want to hint how many people were on my team so I chose a random number.

Day 1 lynch 3 games in a row. GG everyone

Civvie RA RAhasdl;kjsrg;lkerlk;dsfgsd etcetc

Voting Epig to save.
Hint how many people were on team pretty much admits you're bad. So. Yeah.
By diverting attention to JC and BR, it seems she was trying to drop seeds of suspicion on them, hoping for a second bandwagon, and not have to actually defend Made. Which, by the way, she doesn't mention the slip at all in her post--which is odd. And to accuse JC of bandwagoning--when, in fact, there was clear reason to vote for Made, just doesn't make sense.

She makes a case out of 2 players who have played a lot together and have similar thought processes often, asking for each other's opinions early in the game. That doesn't seem odd to me at all. It seems even less reason for suspicion.

Right now, Elo is my biggest suspicion.

inb4 someone says "but Elochin wouldn't have had BTSC with Made or known he was a baddie!"... all she had to do in Lorab's scenario is believe the slip was real. Lorab linki'd me when I was posting, so the reat of this post is unrelated to her case.
* * * * *
In a recent game, I correctly called out Lorab and Canucklehead as baddies, because they trusted me and openly said they thought I was Civvie in the thread, multiple times. I found it suspicious, because I was a baddie, and I started to try to figure out why they thought I was Civvie. I came to the conclusion that they probably hoped I was Civvie, but that they were simply saying those things in order to placate me, or to make me feel more in sync with them in the thread. It was a way of acting that was, at its core, intended to make themselves seem more Civvie.

I'm not saying that Metalmarsh and Turnip Head are baddies. I am saying that their trust in Epignosis on Day One fits the basic points of what Lorab and Canucklehead were doing in that game, in that they don't have anything much to go on to say they trust him. It could be viewed as a way for baddies to set up a trust-warmed in-thread relationship with a player that they believe would be a better ally than enemy.

And, well, Epig is that sort of player.

For the record, I actually thought you were civ and was defending you because of it. One of the few times I've been dead wrong about you. Knuk was going with what I believed to be true. Just saying.

So that sort of colors my reading of your point. but it is something to keep in mind.

Sorry if this has been asked or clarified somewhere already: If a player with a Prize is killed, does the killer get the Prize? Does a lynched player's Prize go up for auction?

But your reason for doing it, as a baddie, was to garner trust and goodwill from me, or from other Civvies if I died. As a baddie, you needed me to die, so saying you trust me doesn't move toward that goal. I really don't think anything should be "colored" in your reading of my point, because I'm sure you agree with me about your basic baddie motives. It's a sensible thing for a baddie to do, and I think you and Canuck were being sensible - it's a great way to help a baddie seem more Civvie, to support and trust a Civvie.

I too have had a baddie "vouch" for me when I've been a civvie... That doesn't mean that's what's going on here or in the countless other instances of civvies sticking up for one of their own through nothing but intuition and gut. Have you never tried to save someone you believed was a civvie with you, LC?

And I can't even see a scenario where a baddie TH would have any more knowledge of Epi's role than my current civvie self does, so I'm not sure where you think you're going with this.

I don't think it's necessarily suspicious to say someone seems civ in the early game. I do that a lot, meaning that the player in question hasn't pinged me, so I tend towards thinking they're civvie. Epig is also a player I tend to default to thinking of as aggressive civ anyway (except in Doctor Who where I called him being Cyber all along :noble: ), so I don't have any reason to suspect the people involved in this little kerfuffle.

Also, $60 for the Protect.

Not going anywhere. As I said, I'm not saying you guys are baddies. I think it would be audacious of me to accuse you both like I'm the greatest detective and I caught you easily. I'm just drawing on my own Mafia experience and saw a possible parallel. I think it's good to keep in mind, maybe it will be part of a case against one of you later in the game, a case that's supported by more evidence.

You're right, Civvies do stick up for people they trust all the time. That could be what's happening here. It's just that the seeming lack of a real reason for you to already trust Epig doesn't make sense to me - of course I have tried to save someone I thought was Civvie with me, but I seriously doubt I did it on Day One with so little to go on. When I defend someone I believe is a fellow Civvie, it's based on something a little more 'meaty' that I have analyzed... patterns of behaviour and voting, similar suspicions, or just a gut feel by the way they have acted throughout the game. None of that stuff is available on Day One, especially with a player like Epig who seems to always decide on a new off-the-wall way to play in each game. (This time it's the Big Bidder thing, entertainingly supported by the $/S thing, by my reckoning.)

Surely you can understand my point of view here. I'm not looking for a reason to cause friction, I'm just reacting to something I don't understand.

I just think Epi plays a little more recklessly when he has no teammates. His Big Bid didn't push me toward suspecting Epi the way that it did for you and others, it made me think he's alright.

Pennsylvania RR killed SVS last night, presumably taking all of her cards.

3 players landed on Pennsylvania RR last night, and only had to pay $25 each.

Does that mean that the Pennsylvania RR does not own any other railroads? The assumption being that SVS won the bidding on the Short Line and that Penn RR confiscated it after killing her.

@boo: What is the order of operations for night actions? Was SVS killed and then we all moved around the board, or did everybody move and then SVS died?

Movements are rolled out before night actions even start coming in. I just do it in bits as I have time to since it takes a little while.

But yes, SVS (and anyone who gets NKed in the future) still moves and is considered alive at the time of movement (so payments and what have you still happen from that person).
