I'm not sure I see why TH needs to go tomorrow. I'd rather vote LC or Llama, or better yet, find another railroad.

Night 5 End/Day 6 Start: Car Accident
Epi was driving around when he tried to cross some railroad tracks. He did not beat the train. It was not cartoony fun.
Epignosis has been killed by Reading Railroad. Thanks for playing Epi!
It is now Day 6. You have 48 hours to lynch someone.
Board movements
Updated board
Powers:
1st) Money is Power (When played, it changes the value of all votes in the present or next lynch. Players with more money have votes worth more, and players with less money have votes worth less). - Starts at $100
2nd) Protect (Can be used to protect a person of your choice at night if you pick during a day, and remove a person of your choice from being on the lynch poll if used at night) - Starts at $50
3rd) Rob the bank (Allows the player who uses it to attempt to rob the bank. They will either get an amount of $100+, or be sent to jail) - Starts at $25
4th) Captain Planet: Allows the player who uses this power to choose for any other set in the game (meaning not their starting property set) that they or someone they BTSC with has a property of. Once chosen they can then search each night for and get BTSC with (any BTSC either the searcher has or the person they search and find has is also part of this BTSC, and they can all win together). Anyone who holds one of the properties at the time the power is used (even if that card wasn’t their starter) is considered to be part of the set (if traded after the power is used, the person who the property at the time of use is still the person who if searched would result in getting BTSC with the searcher). Bids for this power are made privately via PM. If BTSC is gained as a result of using this card, any NK anyone in the BTSC has is lost. - Starts at $500
5th) Remove a die (Allows the player who uses it to remove a dice roll from anyone they want) - Starts at $50

9 houses are also up for auction. They start at $150 each. The auction for them ends at the same time the auction for the powers does (10 minutes before the end of the lynch). Unlike buying them normally, you do not have to buy and use these ones right away.

Re: Monopoly Mafia [Day 6]
More or less, but it doesn't have to be LMS groups (a civvie, railroad, or utility can also use it). It essentially adds a group to yours, that you get to choose, and then search for (so you choose any colour group, the utilities, or the railroads, and then you'd get a search each night looking for anyone held a property that is in the group you chose when you chose it, so for example, if you chose the railroads, anyone who had a railroad property when you made that selection, you would be searching for and get BTSC and be able to win with once you found them).Long Con wrote:Boo, can you please explain Captain Planet differently? Re: Monopoly Mafia [Day 6]
The reds are selling their houses? Why? Are they in financial trouble? How? This makes no sense. No one on the first half of the board is going to buy houses at that rate when their own houses cost $50 and $100 respectively. Also, they just made $1500 in the last two movements!! They sure as hell don't need money. Who is going to buy a single house from them? I don't see it, unless the greens or blues in expensive-town have come together and see this random opportunity for cheap housing.boo wrote:9 houses are also up for auction. They start at $150 each. I think going after a non-participatory kind of player could be the way to go. I doubt that the nightkill got avoided intentionally, I think it happened due to negligence.

Rest in peace Epi Sorry to see you go.
I agree LC, I think an inactive player is in charge of the utilities' kill now that BWT is gone. But how are we going to question the inactives? How are we going to get a feel for them individually? There's like 4 different players who haven't posted in 2 weeks.

Re: Monopoly Mafia [Day 6]
On another note, we really need to start ferreting out the LMS groups, especially the reds. I wouldn't be surprised if they won the bid for the Beatdown power, which would let them take over Water Works' kill if WW is eliminated. Might be better to leave that NK in the hands of a comatose player...
Re: Monopoly Mafia [Day 6]
I agree with this. Unless they become active again I think it's in our interest to leave WW right now. I'll prob be looking at likely Reds or Railroads. The kill of the Railroads is of more concern to me at the moment, but I've just avoided the Reds and I know some of you are coming up to them.Turnip Head wrote:On another note, we really need to start ferreting out the LMS groups, especially the reds. Who'd even have the money to buy? I haven't even passed go yet and I'm too worried to spend incase I hit a house or something.
I'm looking at LC I suppose. It's likely he is a part of one of those LMS groups because of the auto-find he won, but I think he's more likely Light Blue.

So from these two posts I get the feel that you would prefer to forget the second Util, and let them pile up names/$$ and concentrate on the LMS? While I would rather get baddies, boo saying (very very vaguely) that the kill may not die with clearly baddie teams makes it a bit more murky, and I am a move or two from Red Ville.Turnip Head wrote:On another note, we really need to start ferreting out the LMS groups, especially the reds. Leaving the last util be could be both a good and a bad strategy. Personally, i would rather wait for two missed kills before declaring it a low poster, rather than someone trying to set up low posters. But if 2 kills are missed... There are still 2 rails left as well, though, unless the 3 remaining after Made died all found each other night one and BR 1.0, the only Util kill, was a rail. Which is impossible, as she would not have replaced back in from a BTSC role, as well as very unlikely even had she not replaced back in.
I am still very leery of zeeks quiet~ I know he says otherwise but I am not sure I believe him to be on the level. I am also I am not a fan of Llama changing course on LC since we are going into the "turning on each other" phase of the game a bit earlier than I had expected it to happen, it seems. I don't think they are original baddies, but that sudden change is worrisome if we are looking to LMS teams.
I have been afraid of bidding for stuff after being NKed night one, but I will continue to bid for the protection, and am considering Captain Planet, pending a question:
@boo~ If one bids on Captain Planet, and has no current partners or cards other than the original one, I presume it can be held in reserve?
If I get the answer I hope for, I might be willing to risk a big chunk of my stash on that. A bigger BTS group has a better chance, and the more civs banded together the more "civ" we remain.
Linki~ other than LC, do you have any other suspicions?

I agree with a non-participatory player being Waterworks. I have been thinking Epig was either a RR or a red. Just because of the money spent. He's obviously not a RR and I could be wrong about the reds. I'll likely vote someone who has been absent. If I'm right (I think I am), then it's too bad such a cool role is not being used. Well that's my meager thoughts jumping all over the place.

EBWOP: BR it get a page that says something about I'm timed out. Then I go back and do a preview which works, then I can post the message successfully. It happens almost every post.

This low poster brouhaha is a distraction and witch hunt. It's an easy way for people to escape scrutiny, and I won't go along with it.

Re: Monopoly Mafia [Day 6]
Brouhaha is one of the greatest words in existence.
I will also vote LC. LC and Llama are either the Reds or Light Blues, I believe, so they should go. But regarding railroads: there's a lot of talk but not much hunting going on (myself included because I've been busy). Has anyone looked at Hedge's posts or no?

Also, I'm aware there is an occasional strange issue about posting attempts being "timed out". I'll be looking into it.

I have, though, and I just don't feel it's that strong. I guess he could be the utility, but I don't necessarily feel convinced of that more than any of the quiet players being the utility.thellama73 wrote:Please read my case on Turnip Head, Alex, before you condemn my partne-- I mean Long Con, who is definitely not my partner.

Re: Monopoly Mafia [Day 6]
Let's lynch MovingPictues07, because zeek is clearly his partner. And - get this - I'm not one of the reds, so that makes it more likely that MP and zeek ARE the reds.
If you're really not interested in lynching baddies anymore, then you need to go after the reds, because they are going to have literally thousands and thousands of dollars very soon. They will be unstoppable because they will buy every property up for grabs, every prize, and more than likely are already making private offers of cash for loose properties.
I don't know what they're trying to pull with the house sale thing, but maybe it's something like this: sell the houses every day after the night post, and use that money to win any stuff they want, and then buy whatever houses they can reasonably afford before the next night is up.
So first of all, don't buy the houses. Not that anyone would, I can't see a situation where someone would buy those houses instead of going to the bank.
@boo: can players sell houses back to the bank? If so, what does the bank pay for used houses?
Also, when someone upgrades from 4 houses to a hotel, do the houses go back on the market?

MP, it's happening more than just occasionally with me. It's almost everytime I post, including pms.MovingPictures07 wrote:Also, I'm aware there is an occasional strange issue about posting attempts being "timed out". I'll be looking into it.

Re: Monopoly Mafia [Day 6]
LC, now you look even more desperate, trying to get any attention off of you whatsoever. I do not KNOW zeek is a civvie. I just don't think his playstyle seems baddie at all, and I interacted with him A LOT BTS in Doctor Who.
I've said I think TH is a civvie just as often if not more than zeek, does that mean TH is my partner too?
This is not a civvie LC.

Got it. Thursdays are my busy day so no promises on a full fix until tonight, hopefully sooner, but I'll let the thread know.juliets wrote:MP, it's happening more than just occasionally with me. Re: Monopoly Mafia [Day 6]
What does everyone think of Keys? MP and Zeek are getting flak for being quieter than usual... Keys barely even seems like he's here. I can't remember the last time he posted, nor can I remember any of his contributions beyond the union idea he had on Day 1.
If the reds lost one of their monopoly members to an NK, would the remaining two be forced to sell their houses?

LOL, "even more" desperate. Because I was looking so desperate before. Is this part of your case now? Or are you shoehorning it in as a convenience?MovingPictures07 wrote:LC, now you look even more desperate, trying to get any attention off of you whatsoever. I do not KNOW zeek is a civvie. These people have played with you enough, MP, to see that you're the one "not acting like your Civvie self". Now you're falling back on that good ol' chestnut "zeek's playstyle in X previous game". Good thing you let us know that you think TH is Civvie too, so that you defending zeek doesn't seem weird.
