I mean, I thought both these teams were bad, but I was genuinely surprised by just how bad Saudi Arabia were. How are they ranked 67th? Their defence was terrible.

They're not great, the fact that Saudi Arabia had possession of the ball more than them tells you something. But they looked good today cos they were playing against the Saudis.

I'm still going to pick Egypt to beat them. But Egypt have to actually win, not draw, after that result from the Saudis.

I'd prefer Egypt to go through, but this game gave Russia a great goal-average boost and completely restored the team's confidence, which may be enough to help them draw/win against Egypt and reach the next stage.

I've been rooting for Argentina since I was 7 or 8. It started off back then maybe to spite my mom and Grandpa who rooted for Brazil (Lebanese people cheered for Brazil or Argentina only in the old days, and now it's split between Brazil, Argentina, Germany and Spain with some weirdos cheering England on ). They thought I was disgusting. I liked the attention as a 7-year old going against them muahaha. I just hated Brazil and seeing them lose to France in the WC 98 just intensified the hate ever since. I haven't seen Argentina win a WC in my memory yet (they last won in 86), but I support them till the day I die.

that said, there are teams I hate more than Brazil these days. I hate France. I hate Portugal (sorry Buckaroo just so many unlikeable players...). and I really hate Germany.
