This sentence defines the entire concept of fantasy football:

I almost won my first time, and I only signed up to play because a group needed an even number, so I said, "What the hell, sure."

I changed the amount of teams that make the playoffs from 4 to 6, and the top two seeds get a Bye during the first round. This way everybody plays each other once during the regular season, then three weeks of playoffs.

So I've never played with an IR slot before. How does that work? What injury status is required for a player to be stashed there, and can that player be pulled back out the moment they're healthy?

The team has to put him on IR and then you get an extra bench slot. You can reinstate him immediately but you'll have to drop someone.

Seriously? Aw man. Daisy and I met a couple of folks for dinner last night, and I thought I'd be around, but then they invited us over to play games, so I couldn't say no to that. Especially since my manual draft policy was going to be "pick the person with the coolest sounding name". :P

It worked! At least for Round 1. This guy's name is "Marshawn Lynch". Totally would have picked that because mafia. :P

Dang it! It only worked for Round 1. All the other names are not cool. Except for maybe this guy "Nelson Agholor".

nah I wanted TE, then QB, got stolen my first TE pick, so picked QB, then TE, then focused on RB/WR

in a 14 team league, PPR, picking RBs round 1 is funny money.

TE's and QBs are pretty similar in that you can wait a few rounds to get either. For future reference :P

Unless you get first pick, then taking a top tier QB is ok. Not necessarily the best, but OK.

Eh, 0.5 per rec. That's not enough of an incentive to refrain from taking an elite RB.

I can imagine you going to check if we're PPR, finding out we are, smashing your keyboard around a bit, coming back, and trying to play it cool.

Points Per Reception. Every time a player catches a pass, thats .5 points. Usually its 1 pt, but TH is the boss this go around

Nah- I looked over the score setup before signing up and didn't recall seeing anything that indicated PPR. It probably didn't register in my head because it's half a point.

I went with half-PPR because in a 14-team league, the RBs like Bell or Forte who catch a lot of passes are insanely valuable and there's not enough of them go around.

You hinted at trying to snatch Gummybearsky, but I forgot about the latter, "postpone-otherwise" part of your advice. :p

Also I almost fell asleep. Woke up at 9 ET dead, logged in and basically went Leroy Jenkins with the drafting.

So I kinda wished I looked over the league rules a bit closer before the draft. I knew we were a .5 pt PPR but I didn't know that our QBs only get 4 pts for a TD....That might've made me wait on a QB a few rds later.

Okay, but what's your excuse for drafting Vernon Davis? You must like goose eggs every week.

WHo else does Capernick have to throw to (especially when it comes t ored zone targets)??? TE depth sucks and DAvis is just a place holder until Gates comes back from suspension. I figured it was a boom or bust pick: either he returns to fantasy form in which case I got potentially the biggest steal in the draft or he remains average or worse in which case I can search the waiver wire for another scrub TE.

Good thing auto-draft gave me Matt Forte then.

Most matches are held on Sundays, with a couple on Monday night and sometimes one additional one on Saturday. This week is special in that one match is held tonight.

So get your rosters ready. :omg:

Actually they've got Thursday night games almost all season long. I'm glad I don't do regular fantasy football anymore because these Thursday games probably force you to make your rosters changes much quicker.

Rooster fight? I believe the traditional term is cock fight, which reminds me of a Kings of Leon song/video from before they were Top 40 darlings:
