1. Is that for real your voice? You didn't just record some famous Finnish actor, right?
2. If so, it's much deeper than I thought!
3. Did you say "American" a couple of times? Not to be ethnocentric.
1. Yes, it is.
2. I've always thought it's not nearly as deep as I'd like it to be.
3. Yes, I did. Rough translation of the text follows:
Maps before Columbus tell us the embarrassing and confusing fact that travel across the ocean to South America, for example, was known well before the "discovery of America". What they tell us at school is based on medieval rumours. At that time maps depicted the known world in the middle, and in the margins they painted sea monsters and hurricanes to warn us of regions we could not know anything about. On the other hand it is somewhat tragic to live in the present, when maps have hardly any white spots on them.

I think your voice is a bit more suited for gibberishfinnish than it is for English.

That was very very nice, Llamster!
Now, the finno-ugric group has some of the most barbaric sounding languages I've ever had the 'privilege' of hearing, but dayum! I have no idea what you've read, Vomps, butt I think you've just made Finnish sound unexpectedly pretty. Wow! :OooOo

I had to google the former and I dislike the latter for no real reason. So... no! :P

The only language I hate the sound of is Dutch. Oh, and Spanish.

I love Dutch!
I also dislike Spanish. It sounds extremely dirty for some reason. I'm also not a fan of the Portuguese they speak in Brazil for the same reason.

Not the best, but whatever! Cool website find, DP, this was an awesome idea. You and LT both sound splendid! It is definitely neat to match the voice behind the text.
Bump.
And I can't listen to my voice on recording; I hate listening to myself and seeing pictures of myself. It's gotten a bit more tolerable in recent years, but I still prefer not to.

I was that way for a long time. Now I'm more used to it, so I'm over it.

OHMYGOD I am so sorry. Are they traumatized for life? I should have put a bigger disclaimer on it.

That was an entertaining story. :o
Also, you shouldn't feel too bad. I can't remember what it was, but I think I've posted something in the Shred Room that someone let their kids watch without knowing what it was either.
