A couple more days for BO money to get in there. *And* I've got Lin-Manuel so "Supporting Actor in a Comedy/Musical" is like...mine.
That latter part is probably true.

But I have Mary Poppins, Emily Blunt, Meryl Streep and Lady Gaga so I'm feeling fairly decent about my chances in the Comedy/Musical categories too.

One more week of the box office there is pretty significant for me. Now if they could just move it forward another week again... or two.

You're easily going to be the first to cross $1 billion, but I don't think anyone apart from Iron Dwarf is in danger of getting eliminated this round unless Timmer throws a curve ball and ups the number of eliminations.

It's at moments like this that I prefer to imagine Jay is actually a robot.

timmer seems to be sitting pretty in a relatively safe box office position with no films yet. Lots of room for awards.

I wanna drop some of my movies or make some moves with Actors to try and shore up my awards haul but fuckin' Bad Times at the El Royale is so stacked with talent I can't bring myself to ditch it. How in the hell is that movie NOT going to get at least nominated for 50 different things lol.

Yorgos Lanthimos is one of my favorite directors, and I honestly cannot wait for The Favourite, as I'm pretty damn sure it'll be fantastic. That being said, he has an......idiosyncratic style. There's a reason why I didn't choose the movie as one of my picks.

I'd love to live in a world where Lanthimos movies are snagging Oscars left and right, but unfortunately, I don't think it's gonna happen.

That being said, Olivia Colman has a pretty showy role in the film as I understand it, and I think she's a possibility to get some noms.

The Lobster got a screenplay nod... I think voters increasingly know Lanthimos and like him and The Favourite looks a bit less odd so... OSCAH

Minor issue, but in the November movies you have Rami and Jude colored red instead of purple.

Right now I feel Good/Pretty Good about

- Supporting Actor
- Cinematography
- Screenplay
- Director
- Best Picture Comedy/Musical/Drama
- Visual Effects?
- Score/Soundtrack

IDK. The only bummer on my roster is the lack of depth in my Actors bench, but I feel good about my films is the thing.

A few more small changes... Mary, Queen of Scots has shifted off of Nov. 2nd and moved to the first week of December. Holmes & Watson has moved from late November to late December.

If I understand everything correctly, movies/actors are locked in and unchangeable on the date of their premiere, yes? Are we talkin' like, midnight on the night before the premiere, and if so, midnight in what time zone?

Many movies have preview screenings very late on Thursday so they technically lock in Thursday, i.e. the day before their official open.

Spreadsheet is updated.

I guess we do need a time zone... technically midnight shows etc would hit the east coast first so the dead line is midnight Wednesday night EST. At 1201am EST it becomes Thursday and the film locks.

If Iron Dwarf had turned up I would have advised him to grab an MI actor quick. It was his last hope I think.
