Depends on the type of double-double. If it's the typical points-rebounds variety, gimme the homer. If it's something cool and rare like points-steals (or blocks-steals, but let's be reasonable), gimme that.

Scorpions for toes, so that way my physical functionality is less affected when I chop it off. Besides, when I replace it with some sort of robotic apparatus my feet will stop complaining they hurt on long days AND I can finally not be restricted by shoe size (Finding the right shoe I like for US-size 13.5 or 14 wides is a bit tough ;-;)

Would you rather

-Live in a imaginary world that could have anything in it at your will BUT other people?

Would you rather give up your ability to hear or your ability to taste?

Re: Would you rather - -

by MartinGG99
Oof. Tough choice. I tend to have slight issues with hearing in general, so there's points to take that, but I also tend to be a picky eater as well. I would have to say remove my ability to taste; that way (I hope) I don't actually taste things whenever I try one of those seemingly very interesting or very healthy foods/drinks/smoothies and not feel the immediate urge to throw-up. I'll miss the great taste of my favorite brands for pizza, chocolate milk, tea, cheeseburgers, and fries though.

Would you rather

-No tables
-No chairs/stools

No chairs/stools. Without tables, it’s more difficult to play games and put puzzles together. I sit too much at work as it is.

(Also, bold choice on no taste. I had COVID and lost my sense of taste for a few days. Having eating reduced to temperature and texture was unnerving, because some things I eat have strange texture that flavor distracts from.)

Would you rather see the world without color or hear the world in mono?

Re: Would you rather - -

Posted: Sat May 08, 2021 7:27 pm
by MartinGG99
This is also a hard choice, because I value both seeing the world in color and hearing the world in a way that allows me to tell where the sound is coming from quickly (I presume that's what hearing in mono removes?). After thinking about it for awhile, I think I tend to get larger overall benefit from seeing the world in color.

Biggest down-side I could imagine is if there was some sort of emergency that I needed to be aware of around me immediately, it would be hard to tell. That said, most of the time when I'm hearing digital sound effects they're mono or stereo in such a way I wouldn't mind it being mono. Actually, heck, sometimes I wish I could make my music mono without cutting an instrument out (or at least I haven't figured how to do so in the way I wish) and so I hope hearing the world in mono would do that; its a pet peeve of mine if an instrument in a song I like is only on one side of the audio or another when using earbuds. Though I realize its probably not as simple as this, and inevitably some of my audible experiences are going to be different and initially disorienting (beyond expectations) as such.

As for seeing in the world in color, well, I think this is kinda self-explanatory but additionally if I ever want to get into creating art for practicing good mental health I would imagine it would be better doing it in color.

Would you rather

-A longer alphabet (in other words; English having more characters/symbols)
-A shorter alphabet (less characters/symbols)

Totally not inspired by your quest as shown in your signature. But seriously, I do wonder if there's a preference here after putting thought into the possible real consequences of each.

Re: Would you rather - -

I would opt for a shorter alphabet. I've read the dictionary, and there are too many archaic spellings that lead to confusing attempts to write out. As a result, some words could be shorter, though some might end up longer as well. Shortening the English alphabet would also allow us to finally change the key settings on our keyboards. The QWERTY and home rows are relics of the swing-arm typewriter era to prevent jams that no longer happen.

Would you rather spend eternity trying to convincing people in Heaven that they are really in Hell, or spend eternity trying to convince people in Hell that they are really in Heaven?

I think I always opt for the first option. If it were a bad thing then I would guess that wouldn't happen in heaven in the first place, though I'm not a theologist or religious (in most concepts of "being religious"). I could go for the second option, as a matter of helping people, but there are some people who I don't wish to help and I imagine this "would you rather" doesn't give me much choice in the matter.

Would you rather

Both options don't entirely exclude the other; just a higher priority or strength in such an area.

Would you rather a donut or a muffin in the morning?

It depends entirely on the donut and muffin I'm deciding between, as well as my disposition that morning. I love a good blueberry muffin, but it has to be moist. Otherwise, I will probably opt for the more accessible donut option.
