Well the current pause is probably the last one. After that we are gonna have the Act 6 equivalent of Cascade and then... it's over.

WHEN the current pause ends is a mystery though, but Hussie recently wrote a newspost saying he wants to reveal the date before the year is over.

So if you are looking for a good time to catch up and not have to endure pauses again, the end of this pause might be a good time.

It may require me to re-read (or, y'kno, just browse the pics) all of Act 6, but sure... one day...

Bought Fallout 4 on Steam last week...already logged 45 hours LOL. It's an amazing game, and it definitely lives up to the massive standard that Fallout 3 set. Great, great game.

Seeing as thought vacation is nearby, whilst my LOBE (level of bore) and Exp (experience in wasting my life) are infinite, I'm going to start running a few Neutrals with various outcomes.
Spoiler: show
For instance, I'm not such a fan of going through the fight motions with Metatton Ex or some of the mini-bosses, so... The only characters towards which I genuinely have any particular feeling of not wanting to off them are Toriel and Papyrus.

I started that game a few months ago and couldn't get over how nonsensical it was.

It is pretty crazy so far and I've only played for 10 minutes. Lol.

I get sucked pretty easily into RPGs though; I find them inherently addicting. Just never have the time to devote to them anymore. But back in the day, it would have to be a crappy game for me to put down an RPG.

It'd be nice if Chrono Trigger got a Wii U virtual console re-release.

I used to be more of a NES than a SNES guy. Not sure if I mentioned this before, but I'm surprised how many shit NES games I've played and actually loved, given what critics today think of them. I still don't care. :noble:

I'll probably give into playing Earthbound as well.

No, but the many negative reviews and the fact it shits on the story of the previous game don't make me want to play it.

So I'm taking a break from Earthbound to replay something I haven't played in over a decade on the Gameboy Advance... Wario Land 4. I remember loving it when I was younger, saw it on Wii U Virtual Console, bought it this morning.

It's one of the best games of all-time and it's better than Trigger.

Pretty good game, though the second half gets too easy for my tastes.

Then again, the second half has some pretty awesome stuff.

For example, after you get all the 8 stone things,
Spoiler: show
and it becomes the first game where the mcguffins you collect through the game actually give a meaningful bonus!
Fourside is my favorite part, through. SO HARD.

I'm almost at Fourside now, actually! I was hoping to finish this game before the semester starts... might not happen with Christmas, Smashfest, and my parents visiting, but I'm really glad I stuck with it this time.

Welp, I did about three resets, to the point of finishing each one in roughly two hours (intense X pressing woo) and reaching slight boredom. I'm now pondering if I should go full heartless bastard or re-do a pacifist for good ol' times' sake. :mafia:

Well your previous post implied you weren't sure of it.

I didn't play it. Didn't have the balls to do anything bad to Papyrus. I love that skeleton.

I watched it on Youtube instead.

But seeing the plot of the genocide run is 100% worth it, at least.

Btw, if you don't intend to play the neutral run anymore, you might want to see this:

Yeah, I was like wtf? Lol. Smash Ness is more Paula than Ness, but I won't complain, though I kept wondering when I would learn them in Earthbound for a while there!

I started playing Transistor today (got it on sale for myself last night along with a couple other games I've been intending to check out). It's really fucking cool.

- Checks Transistor on Steam.

- Not even sure if I wanna play it but it's so incredibly cheap.

- Realizes everything is incredibly cheap there.

- Realizes my credit card is soon going to be under attack.

Everything I read about the recent steam problems suggested that it's pretty safe/not much to worry about.

In any case, Transistor is a really great game and I do recommend it -- cool mechanics, great art/music/setting etc. It's on sale (along with everything else :p ) til the 4th

Purchased Transistor. Playing tonight. :srsnod:

Also got Skyrim and all the DLC for like $10. Fine by me since I never finished Oblivion.

Or Morrowind.

Transitor is, so far, repetitive as shit.

Fun, but repetitive.

I found Transistor (like Bastion, from the same developer) quite repetitive and more reliant on art style, music and narrative than gameplay. It does those first 3 very well, but I just get bored playing it and never finished it. Just like Bastion.

I read that it's a relatively short play, so I intend to finish it (unlike all the other video games I start and never finish).

As for last page discussion, I bought Undertale in the Steam Sale. I really enjoyed the "battle" system and the music and some of the writing, but every time I was walking around or solving the "puzzles" I was generally bored. Thinking of going for Pacifist since it's a short game.

Re: Most Recently Played Video Game

Yeah the puzzles are only good for what they can contribute to the plot. But mechanically, they suck.

Re: Most Recently Played Video Game

Posted: Mon Dec 28, 2015 1:34 pm

True dat. A little more fantasy and variability, for re-run value, really wouldn't have hurt. The puzzles are almost tongue-in-cheek for focusing on the characters instead and bonding with them (or at least the sense of that).
Spoiler: show
It's why I like Waterfall the most, for its ambiance and the fact that you can still come out a little bruised during encounters, if you happen to dose off or put a wrong step forward.
I dunno about Pacifist being shorter than a regular run, lotsa extra stuff you have to accomplish. :p
